First, I want to say that the customer service at Lock and Leave in Dinuba was well above average. The women there were fast, friendly and helpful, and even brought us cold water as we loaded the trailer in the heat. The location, however, was WELL out of the way for us in Hanford and the direction we were driving. We were given an extra 50 miles, but of course not reimbursed for the TIME and the FUEL (the truck averaged 9.0mpg) it took to go out of the way. The truck was well used and showed damage on the exterior, but was clean on the interior. The auto transport trailer straps were frayed and difficult to use. I don't feel that the truck was meant to tow/haul the weight it claims it can. We overheated in the Mohave Desert and had to pull over to allow the truck to cool and stop leaking transmission fluid. Also, the trailer stop/turn fuze blew and we had to go to a uhaul location to get it fixed. This trip started off very rough, required a lot of work and sweat. I recommend that U-haul work harder at ensuring rental equipment is available at the location requested. We made the reservation on a Sunday, called to confirm the equipment would be available on Monday, and was told on Thursday (the day before the move) that the equipment was NOT available and that we would have to go over an hour out of our way to pick it up. This was very disappointing.

Associate be polite to the client and have better social skills. Moving is stressful as it is and some times customers don't have a way of moving but having to rent a trailer. Be respectful and talk about all the charges before doing a second charge to the clients card in case they get charged fees for not having the funds on that account and causing more stress to there day living them to figure out so repay something unexpected on top the second charge they went to go pay cash for. People pay cash so they dont charge your card what ever they want.

I would improve the pricing... I returned the truck about an hour later since we didn't need after all and was charged a hefty amount just for a short trip...

I put too much gas when I took it back and was not reimbursed. that was a total bummer and you should defiantly think about changing that.

We had a moving crew set up to move my mother. She is located 300 miles from us. The lady working the office showed up 35 minutes late. We had to pay the moving crew to stand around and do nothing for 35 minutes. After I got the truck, the check engine light came on after 10 miles of leaving the rental location. I checked all fluid levels in the engine, they were fine. The check engine light stayed on the entire 300 mile trip.
