The uhaul had broken glass all over the inside of the cab of the truck then the employee told me it was ok to drop off the truck in another spot but uhaul decided to charge me $334 even tho I called and they said it was ok unjustified charges

Had called ahead but was told he didn't do the uhaul and the guy wasn't there to call back later.luke he didn't even care.. We drove 45 miles and were met with people who had no clue and couldn't user a computer then have been overcharged stay away from winters tecas.

Had no idea what they were doing and even tried to get me to take a truck I did not reserve and still waiting on the refund!!!! Because of this horrible experience and still having to wait on refund of $445. I need to pay bills I will NEVER use uhaul again. You guys have lost mine and my families business

I was sent an email stating to pick up the equipment on 9/21/24 at 10:00. I arrived at 9:50, at 10:15 I called uhaul to find out the place did not open until 11:00. I waited and at 11:00 the place was opened by a waitress and cook who neither knew the uhaul side of the business. After 45 to 60 minutes of waiting for the rental do I could get on the road for an 11 hour drive to my next job, after waiting an hour, I asked if there was someone who could come in to help. The waitress (very nice, sweet young lady) said he was not going to come over but she got the boss on the phone. He was able to get the rental side finished, then told me the equipment was outside I could take it. By this time I was getting ready to loose my cool and asked who was going to hook up the car hauler. He told me I was to do this, after I said a choice word, he asked for the cook (a nice young man) who had no idea how to hook this up to help me. Together we got it done because what choice was there. On the phone the manager said he was sending over the drop off details, these details were in Spanish which I do not read or speak. Was the equipment cleaned or well maintained? It looked cleaned, maintained not sure. There could be a n/a choice.

Your website stated there was a 15 foot truck available in San Angelo on the date I selected. I was later informed that there wasn’t one available and that I would have to drive one hour away to Winters for a truck. Your company covered the extra mileage it would take for me to drive the truck back to San Angelo, but what about the gas? I had to pay for that extra gas out of my own pocket. Seems to me like if there was a mistake on your part, that you should have compensated for the gas in addition to the mileage for the inconvenience you caused. Keep your site up date with availability so that it doesn’t inconvenience others in the future.

After my reservation was moved twice, I drove 30 mins to get to this location, 2 hours later than I originally reserved the trailer for. Upon arrival, the diner had no power and the person that does the U-Haul check-ins was unavailable. I had to check in with the regional office and this took an hour. I ended up leaving 4 hours late due to this fiasco. Same thing happened last time I rented a U-Haul trailer.

Don’t pick up from this location. The lady was over 30 minutes late to opening and then didn’t really know what to do. Took a lot longer than needed to.

I was in the larger, nearby city of Abilene, TX who has a larger U-Haul center that was 3 miles from my location. Winters, Tx was 45 miles away and that is where the map suggested I go. I needed a track and car dolly. The Winters Neighborhood center was run out of a café/restaurant (not a big deal), however, they where not in a position to help me with connecting the dolly to the truck. I have never hooked up a car dolly so I paid U-Haul extra for the help through "SafeTrip" - needless to say, that was a waste becasue the folks in Winters refused to help. To make matters worse, after towing the dolly back to Abilene, TX (loading it on myself and hoping it was connected properly) I discovered the dolly was broken (swivel platter was stuck) - I took the dolly to the nearby center who where very helpful. they replaced the dolly, unloaded and loaded the new back on the truck and then the gentleman helping me walked me through how to load the vehicle on the dolly and provided recommendation on how to be safe on the road - suggesting I stop only after a few miles to check on the straps and chains to make sure I attached them correctly - this was immensely helpful information (I know there is a ton of paperwork instruction, instruction in my emails, and stickers all over the trailer, but getting first-hand knowledge from a person is so much better as he recommended safe practices that were not in the instructions). So, I say all of this to recommend that Neighborhood Centers should not rent accessories (or any item) that they are not able to at least speak about. If they rent accessories, they should be in a position to help the customer with those accessories, especially if the customer has paid extra for that help.

The man inside said he wouldn't help or touch the trailer to help. He also said he didnt have anything to do with the rentals that person was out. The office that had assisted in reservation put me in touch with her regional office and he was able to assist remotely with getting paperwork done and also faxe timed us while we hooked up to ensure everythinggot done. I am a 50 yr old and my 70 yr old mom lifted the enclosed 6x12 and loaded ourselves with no assistance from the people inside.

They knew nothing. I asked if they had a pig tail to plug into the light plug, and was told they didn't think they had any. So I went back to the house and got one I had made years before. It was too late to get a Trailor some where else.

Worth noting - the reservation team called to inform that rental unit was not available at my preferred pickup location, but helped to find and confirm an alternate location (the one above) that met my route and timing needs. I appreciated that proactive support.
