VINCENT RLow Cost Equipment came to our rescue. We had answered UHaul’s “link” the day before about where we were dropping off and the time, as there apparently was a requests for 15 ft. trucks for that day. We wrote that we had been advised by U-HAUL to drop off at Kitty Kottage in Tswassen. This is a very out of the way location…difficult to find. Once there, no one was there. We phoned the number given to us, but told to text. We texted and were asked to check out on line. Being seniors this is a difficult thing for us to figure out and we did it feel comfortable with this.. They told us to go to Low Cost and gave us the address, but the wrong address. We finally found Low Cost and the gentleman there was efficient and courteous and checked us out quickly . We made our ferry reservation to Vancouver Island by 5 minutes, or we would have been cancelled. WE WOULD SUGGEST YOU DO NOT USE KITTY KOTTAGE. This whole dropping off experience was very stressful.
Jim HThe gas tank was not full of fuel so it was very difficult to figure out how much gas to put in at the end of the rental. I looked on the website and it said that the truck I rented would get 10-12 miles per gallon. I travelled 12 miles so I put in 1 1/2 gallons figuring that should be more then enough. I was still charged for another 1 1/2 gallons. A little annoyed at this! It should be rented full of gas and returned full.

Amber FI had a great experience with the location and the agent I dealt with to pick up the keys to the vehicle. Where I did not have a good experience was with the mobile app. I figured that going through the app would speed up the process, however it did the exact opposite and I wished I had selected to go to the desk and speak with an agent to do the administrative stuff and get the keys. The app was extremely slow, asked me numerous times to upload photos and re-do them even though the initial ones were fine, it couldn't scan the bar code on my driver's license. It just seemed to take way longer than it should have and I still had to go to the agent to get the keys. It also ate into the time I had the vehicle booked - fortunately I didn't need it for the full 4 hours but if I had I would have wasted 40-45 minutes of that time just trying to get into the vehicle and get on my way.

MICHAEL MSpeak to ICBC and get them to allow 9'cargo vans to be rented without a credit card. I had to change my vehicle, and the local U-Haul agents were kind enough to keep the rent the same even though I had to go to a bigger vehicle. We live in a world of financial pressures and not everyone has a credit card. U-Haul were fantastic, ICBC rules are unrealistic in the present economic climate
ANDREW MThis rental location is great, and the staff is very helpful! Much appreciated! However, the U-Haul mobile app is just like what the app review says, badly designed. Although the instruction steps on the app is very clear, but if you made wrong click, or want to retake the photo, or want to go back to the previous page, you will have to restart the whole process all over again. I had to call U-Haul customer service line 4 times to go thru both rental and return process. Other than that, U-Haul customer service agents are very helpful.

MARILYN MI found the pick-up application very confusing and impossible to use. Fortunately the office was open and I was able to get help to pick up the truck. Kudos to the Low Cost Equipment office staff for the help.
James KThe location was hard to locate because the address wasn’t on the building and the key box was difficult to find and hidden by a piece of equipment in front of it. The app was not very user friendly, we had to phone to get help to navigate it. We were charged for moving blankets which we ordered and they weren’t in the truck.

ROSEMARY CCouldn't easily find what size hitch ball was required for the trailer on the website, if it was 2” or 1⅞”. No big deal for me, I have both, but it would make the process smoother for someone else. Other than that, everything was perfect. Already recommended to a friend.

FAE MRental vehicles are not obviously present on site and lock box was hard to find... Would have been easier if instructions suggested retrieving key before finding vehicle. Otherwise a bit of walking back and forth is required.
Darrel GTerrible experience is an understatement. Convoluted online pickup. Drop off even worse with extra miles and fuel charged in spite of photos proving otherwise. location told me to call customer service rather than dealing with the issue. gave up after waiting on hold for over 20 minutes for "customer service". Overcharged by $70. Horrible but they are the only game in town so not much choice. Avoid them if you can. Next time I'll rent from somewhere out of town, the inconvenience is far better than dealing with this bunch of idiots.

CINDY LEnsure the mobile app works with all locations!!! Mine did not and I needed a 6am pickup which the app said it would do. It did not. It's good but needs improvement.

JARRETT VFirstly, using U-Haul from the Low Cost Equipment location is the best thing I've ever done for myself in regard to moving something!! I would most certainly recommend this location to a friend! The service was great, the vehicle was great, the rental was quite reasonable and the staff were most helpful! I am very satisfied! One very minor thing, the interior of the box could have used a little sweep before I got the truck. Not a problem, it took me less than a minute to sweep. I will definitely use Low Cost Equipment/U-Haul again!

KERRY DHave a more obvious UHaul sign so you’re easier to find. This location is not visible from the main road. Also tell people where to leave their cars since this location has many spots reserved for other businesses or have signs that say No Parking.
JOHN BUpon picking up the trailer, the information regarding the fender was not delivered. Therefore, resulting in damage to the bottom of the driver’s door and having to jump out of the window. U-Haul will be fixing the damage to my vehicle, there is footage to support this claim.

Danielle GI was charged 3 times more than was estimated. I drove it 20 kms, for 2 hours, and instead of being charged $56 I was charged $151. The receipt shows I returned the vehicle at 501pm on June 19, 2024 when I returned it at approximately 1pm on June 18, 2024. I gave the key to your representative and he said that's all he needed, I was good to go. Then I received this incorrect invoice. I expect a refund of the excess charges and in fact a full refund would be the only way you'll ever get me as a customer again. Michael DI refill the tank and you still charge me with the fuel fee and service fee. You don’t deserve the ads on those truck that said $19 or $29 per truck. Total charge over $300 for 4 hours. I can call a moving company for that price. I won’t use Uhual in my whole life. Bye.

Shelley SOur pick up time was 8:30am. After copious phone calls we were finally able to get the truck released by almost 10:30. This was totally unacceptable and infuriating. It made us very rushed to load the truck and get to where we had to be by a noon deadline.

David BYour mobile check in SUCKS. This is the second time I tried to use it - it wouldnt accept my back of DL scan. The scan showed 100 percent but also a error. VERY FRUSTRATING . Itried to get online help - it was unhelpful and they bailed before I could get back 0 NO WAY will i ever use it again. Thank god the merchant was there even thpough it was his posted day off . He opened the door and helped me resolve itr ?> Give Low Costt equipment a BONUS

GLEN MThe battery was dead. It had to be replaced. There was no water in the radiator reservoir. And in fact, the radiator fins were above the water line. The power steering fluid cap was off and the list continues on. You gotta be kidding, this is scary. The only thing that saved us is your service.Guy who came out promptly did a great job.And we were able to make our ferry reservations for moving other than that we would have been in real trouble.

GLEN MDo not rent a truck when their office is closed. Their app did not work well for picking up a vehicle. I had to get on the phone and spent an hour to start the process for a pick up. I wasted an hour that was important for my move. Will not use this service again! They also forgot to include a dolly which I specifically requested. It would have helped our movers(friends and saved their backs.
