I feel cheated. The price I was charged was significantly over the amount given online before renting. There is no reason the miles should show 50 when I never left the city. I went to pick up a couch 9 miles away, took it to my apartment a few miles away, and brought the truck back in under 2 hours, in addition to adding gas to the tank. The amount I was charged was shameful, and when I called to dispute the charges I was given the run around and both the location and the other U-Haul number (866-846-1325) hung up on me instead of responding. Whatever hidden fees I was hit with or overcharged for are downright dishonest, and if this is a typical experience with U-Haul then I will never use this company again. Very disappointed.

Didn’t have the vehicle I ordered because it was stolen a week before. Box truck was dirty and empty on gas. I spent 50$ to put half a tank in. Hand cart was a utility one and useless.

The gas tank was empty when the truck was received, i was told a hole was drilled into the tank but not to worry cause it was repaired but no gas had been added. I was promised a credit for the $50 of gas I had to put in for a 35 miles round trip, this was never applied and I can't get ahold of anyone in the office.

The truck was clean and comfortable. The shop owner was so friendly and helpful! Parking in the area in the morning is difficult so I recommend getting dropped off. Parking in the evening when I returned the truck was easy.

Not a single thing. This was my second time renting for several hours. Location is very convenient - I can walk to and from my home in 15 minutes. I like the option of renting a small truck or small cargo van. I’ve done both. All my expectations were met, again.

Staff was cool. Didn't explain the damage waiver. Then when I finally see the text the link didn't work or expired. Truck was dirty with trash inside the bed. Truck had a few dings. Not the end of the world but wasn't expecting any of that. Usually Uhauls are pretty clean when renting from you guys. Things happen could of been a quick turn around. That's why the average score.

Overall it was a good experience. The truck was not clean inside which was not normal for rental vehicles.

The truck had a “check engine” light on when I received it and the gas was less than a quarter of a tanks. Also - parking in that area is very difficult and it took me a long time to find a legal spot to park the truck for its return.

Truck fuel empty. Paid $135 to fill. Requested 2 Dollies- none available. Traveled to another location, none available. Promised $35 credit, did not receive. Employee at Domingo ave was Rude.

Staff was gracious and helpful when setting the reservation and during pickup/dropoff. My first rental here. Starting Gas level was wrong. It was only reported verbally and it was incorrect. The true level was 1/8 but the reported level was 1/4. Vehicle was parked too far (2 blocks) from the office and there is no parking lot at the location to return to the office to report the gas level. Be prepared for parking challenges, but with patience you will be ok.

The location is not as good as the 6th Street location. Why? Because I could not park my car while I was using the U-Haul rental truck. I could park it, but the 2 hour zone limit caused me to be ticketed. This cost me an additional $50 in for parking my car while I used your U=Haul truck. If I have to use U-Haul again, I'll probably take a bus to the location. You did not alert me to this problem. I am not happy about this.

Easy, prompt, courteous service …I was so relieved that I didn’t have to drive into downtown Oakland or Berkeley to get a uHaul van for what was a two hour need. Thank you!

Almost impossible to find a parking spot on a very busy block and street. There is a parking but the store staff said not to part there because there is a charge for it. The issue is shifted to the customer for hours to wait till to find be able to park. Store hours are inconvenient to access them and ask questions. The location is in a good neighborhood but they need to solve the parking issue when the customer is returning the uhaul car.

Too many hidden fees. I reserved U-haul 8' truck for $45 with insurance but charged with %77 at the end.

The van could have been cleaned before rental since I was using it for 5 days. I had to clean the windows and interior prior to use.

A "Quick Start" sticker on the dash on all the basic operating instructions of the van. I didn't know where the emergency break was, how long the lights stay on in the back and how to keep them on. Those kinds of basics.

The app and website experience is awful for self checkout. It kept crashing on me when trying to submit photos and I had to redo it almost ten times. Drove me crazy.

Mail Boxes Plus was great! They were very friendly, so helpful and kind. They answered all my questions and made sure that I was set up properly. I was very happy with my experience. Furthermore, the location was extremely convenient for me- I could pick up the van around the corner from my son’s school and the location was within block of my home. I appreciated not having to travel across town for a short rental. Completing the reservation online had a glitch as the rental location online was different from Uhaul’s internal system, but at Mailboxes plus they hit everything straightened out for me, and quickly! I would definitely use them again or refer to a friend!

Great location however parking was a little difficult. Would be great if they had reserved parking for the uhaul when returned. Truck was only on 1/4 tank when we received it so we filled it back up to the same amount when we returned it. I was assuming it would have been a full tank….. thank heavens I looked!

Never rent from Mail Boxes to Go in 2930 Domingo Ave, Berkeley, California. No hand truck in the van like ordered. Had to get it myself from a truck in another lot. Truck had less than an eighth of a tank of gas. Had to get gas before I could do anything else. Charged me for CDW which I refused. I left the truck with more than a quarter of a tank of gas and they charged me $140 gas. I will dispute the extra charges and ultimately won't pay them. I have rented from other U-Haul locations and have not had these problems. Avoid this location or be prepared to suffer from the same scams.

I reserved a 24/7 pick up - this was confirmed by Uhaul when I called the morning of the rental- but the location did not set it up that way and so I had to wait an hour until they opened in order to get the van. The person working was very nice and efficient once they were open. Uhaul refunded me $50 which I appreciated.

I originally requested to rent one dozen furniture pads, but this location was unfortunately out of them at the time I picked up my rental. The staff I worked with did make sure to double check for me and immediately arranged a refund for the rental fee.
