I had a reservation for a cargo van at 4PM. After driving an hour and a half drive I get there and they don’t have anything. A cargo van showed up at 5pm. Then it took until 6pm for them to check the van out to me. Between U-Haul and this location this has been the worst U-Haul experience I’ve ever had.

Primary problem - I had ordered a 10' truck and the only vehicle available was a 10' van. I had confirmed my order the day before. They had offered me no alternative; and no credit for the inconvenience.The clerks were very nice but since they were also running the convenient store and there was only one clerk, they had to deal with customers for both.

We were overcharged almost $900 for erroneous extra mileage. The woman on the phone was of little help. The person in the morning said to call back in the afternoon; then the person in the afternoon said to call back in the morning. When the issue was resolved (their fault) there was no apology offered. Very poor customer service. The person who helped on the UHaul line was very nice.

I reserved 10 blankets 2 weeks in advance but there were only 6 at the location. The truck was so dirty I had to clean it before loading it. BTW, I rented a UHaul truck a month ago from a different location (Be Wise Carwash) and had a wonderful experience.

The personnel at the pickup location needs more training. It took a little over 45 minutes to pick up an open trailer.

The owner was very helpful but it took an extra 30 minutes to check in and rent trailer. They had U Haul web issues and seemed unfamiliar with problem. They made a phone call and advocated for me on my long wait and the matter was cleared up.

Pick up was scheduled for 12pm. I arrived at 11:55. The truck wasn't registered as returned. It took almost an hour for me to get the truck. I had a pick up time for the bed I was purchasing and the person wasn't very happy. The gentleman was excellent, just waiting the extra hour was crazy. Especially when I am paying $75 for a truck rental...

counter person polite but unknowledgeable, had me there for 30 minutes talking to another person over phone, charged me for moving pads I did not rent, found this out on return. receiving guy not much better took 20 minutes for him to process me. I was over charged but b that time I was through. Uhual is a much better company than that. use south road spot, they are more professional.

Offer the newer type of hook up for the trailer lights. They come with the old flat 4 pin connections and most new trucks have the newer round ones. Luckily I had the adapter

The location was fine, but I was told the truck was not available until 1pm but it had snow on it and seemed like it had been there for a few days. Also, gas charges were not made clear when charges were being reviewed. He pointed to every other charge and gave me an estimated cost that did not include gas. Was not given a copy of that document.

After fueling my rental, the clerk interrupted me while doing the Self Return Drop off procedure on the mobile app! Turns out to be that he charged me an additional day fee along with the insurance for that day which was already paid in advanced and mileage over charge as to which I didn't go over being that it was on point! $58.63 was charged to my card which UHAUL has no record of being the chances are that it went into his pocket! If you are returning to this location USE AND INSIST using the self return app or better yet choose another drop off location to begin with!

The employer in this location was pompous, entitled and not well informed. He made false statements and I was charged an additional $50 without a proper breakdown of my bill by this rude and uncouth individual. I am disgusted at the lack of customer service.

BEWARE!!! One of the worst rental locations to rent a Uhaul. Uhaul is too good of a rental truck company to affiliate with this location. Hopefully they inspect and re-evaluate MANCHESTER GAS STATION. In our opinion.

I had a 26ft truck that I needed to attach a 6×12 trailer to in order to complete my move and they would not supply me with the wire needed to have lights on the trailer... I was told they don't supply them for one way trips and had to buy one for $25.00. I have been a customer for many years and was absolutely shocked. I will never do business with them again nor would I ever recommend them. This location gives UHaul a bad reputation. The guy who worked there seemed nice, he was just following orders from the owner unfortunately.

This was a gas station/ convenient store. While trying to rent the truck, which I had already reserved, we were interrupted 4 times by customers wanting everything from gas to cigarettes. Way should have taken ten minutes tops took 20. I won’t rent from this type of location again

Beacon/Fishkill/poughkeepsie google map locations are HORRIBLE, I will never rent a uhual ever again in the dutchess area. UNHELPFUL STAFF and UNHELPFUL GOOGE MAPS. All the locations were nonexistent or “moved” with no update. I went over my mileage just because i was driving in CIRCLES. The young man in the manchester area was kind and helpful unlike other locations. He reduced my “fee” for dropping it off in Poughkeepie and not drppping it off in the NONEXISTENT location. He made me feel way better about the sitatuion but I will never get involved with Uhual in dutchess again.

The individual at Manchester Rd was very personable and helpful, even getting me in touch with a "customer rep" when I commented that the charge was 20% higher than expected. When we encountered difficulty attaching the auto trailer, the individual called for assistance which arrived promptly. The person who arrived to help knew exactly what needed to be done and did it.

THIS LOCATION IS UNTRUSTWORTHY. When I picked up the rental vehicle, I asked to add a hand truck to my one-way rental. Two hand-trucks of similar red-orange color were standing side-by-side near the check-out. The larger one didn't have the "U-Haul" sticker on it. The clerk quoted $7 for the small one and $10 for the larger, which I took, thinking little of the missing sticker. Upon returning the order, I was told the hand truck wasn't U-Haul property. When contacted by the return agent, the renting agent claimed that they provided only U-Haul property, so I was charged $39.95 for a "missing dolly."

the side mirrors need to be more secure as they were blown closed in with the motion of the truck making changing lanes difficult if not dangerous.

The gut who made our reservation didn't actually put it in the system so when we got to the location we could only have the truck from 1pm to 9am!! still had to pay full price for a 24 hour rent.... then was over charged for the rental!! horrible experience!!

I made a reservation on line with credit card info to eliminate the wait...it still took an hour because he wpuldnt give up the keys till he had credit card information again...what is the point of doing it online if i had to do it all over again...it was bullshit...they were rude...i was getting in trouble at work cause i was on the phone so long redoing what i previously did weeks ago....ive always used that location but never again

The fuy there charged for gas when we know it was on a full tank when we parked it cause we looked at gas gaugeand it was on full but he said it wasnt.Also he is charging my card 197.plus change when he told us it was only 123.and some change.Will not go there again for a truck.

arrived on time, the employee was quick and polite, get out to the trailer to hook it up to the truck and the emergency brake lever was up so the wheels were locked. it took my friend and i about half an hour how to fix the situation, the employee was trying his best to help which was great. but he had very little knowledge of the operation of the trailer. there should have been some sort of literature or training provided to him on all of the rental products and not just the renting procedure.

Clean interior it is filthy. The truck has awful gas fumes the whole time loading and unloading. No leak seen and engine off. But needs check. Would not let me use bathroom in station "out of order".....

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in my life. My issues have NOTHING to do with the Newburgh location. My wife and I needed to rent a truck in order to get our furniture for child's nursery. We reserved a truck directly through the U-Haul website two days before we required the vehicle. According to the website the location we selected was opened from 7 am to 7 pm which we needed becau, se the reservation would be for 2 PM. At 11:55 am the day we were to rent the truck, we received call telling us "This location closes at 12, are you getting your truck?" We stated our reservation was at 2 PM and we couldn't get to the location within 5 minutes of notice. I then proceeded to contact what you claim is a customer service department but was an awful experience to put it mildly. After speaking with a representative telling me I was wrong and the location closes at 12 PM, despite what your own website states otherwise transferred me to another employee to arrange a new truck. This employee accused me of lying about the situation and insisted we were contacted by phone, email, and text the day before our reservation that the truck pick-up to another location. After informing her this never occurred, I requested a supervisor, who I was told was unavailable but would call me back when she could, with no promise to call in any time period. I then requested that person's supervisor who the representative told me is not usually in the office and they didn't know when that person would be. I said to have that supervisor call me immediately. I then began to make new reservations with another representative who wanted me to get a truck 90 minutes away and then drive it another hour to where I needed to pick up my furniture and then drive another hour to delivery that furniture to where I needed it. I declined this option and was told that I could get a truck 30 minutes away which I accepted after being given courtesy extra miles to ensure I would not exceed my mileage. This was 24 hours ago and no manager/supervisor has called me. This whole ordeal also caused me extra gas expenses since I had to drive out of my way to get the truck and bring the truck to where it was needed.
