This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in my life. My issues have NOTHING to do with the Newburgh location. My wife and I needed to rent a truck in order to get our furniture for child's nursery. We reserved a truck directly through the U-Haul website two days before we required the vehicle. According to the website the location we selected was opened from 7 am to 7 pm which we needed becau, se the reservation would be for 2 PM. At 11:55 am the day we were to rent the truck, we received call telling us "This location closes at 12, are you getting your truck?" We stated our reservation was at 2 PM and we couldn't get to the location within 5 minutes of notice. I then proceeded to contact what you claim is a customer service department but was an awful experience to put it mildly. After speaking with a representative telling me I was wrong and the location closes at 12 PM, despite what your own website states otherwise transferred me to another employee to arrange a new truck. This employee accused me of lying about the situation and insisted we were contacted by phone, email, and text the day before our reservation that the truck pick-up to another location. After informing her this never occurred, I requested a supervisor, who I was told was unavailable but would call me back when she could, with no promise to call in any time period. I then requested that person's supervisor who the representative told me is not usually in the office and they didn't know when that person would be. I said to have that supervisor call me immediately. I then began to make new reservations with another representative who wanted me to get a truck 90 minutes away and then drive it another hour to where I needed to pick up my furniture and then drive another hour to delivery that furniture to where I needed it. I declined this option and was told that I could get a truck 30 minutes away which I accepted after being given courtesy extra miles to ensure I would not exceed my mileage. This was 24 hours ago and no manager/supervisor has called me. This whole ordeal also caused me extra gas expenses since I had to drive out of my way to get the truck and bring the truck to where it was needed.

Vehicle was supposed to be ready by 10 AM but I didn't get out with the vehicle until 10:45 because the clerk was unable to reach his supervisor by phone. He kept telling me five more minutes. Unacceptable!

Huge difference between a business that rents Uhauls and a Uhaul business, It was a convenient location for my drop off, just a different feel than a Uhaul store is all.

When I went to pick up truck dolly was NOT on it when I called uhaul I was told that I would NOT be charged for the dolly unless I used it this guy was charging me for it. I was on my way back to drop off truck I had 10 mins before I would be ON TIME TO DROP IT OFF!! Moving is very stressful as it is you don't need to be rushed as well!!! I'll never use this location again!!

This site was awful, I've rented MANY uhaul trucks in the past and this rental facility was BY FAR THE WORST! First of all, they don't offer a military discount, which is absurd and insulting. 2nd, they rented me a truck that was in obvious need of repair, the check engine light was on and it made weird jerking motions. 3rd, and most importantly, the man who rented me the uhaul NEVER ONCE said ANYTHING about a fee for mileage. I was never informed that you get absolutely ZERO miles to utilize with your rental and have to pay $.99 per mile .... that's literally INSANE! When I asked him what all I would be charged for when I initially rented the Uhaul, he told me I pay the $29.95 for the rental itself, $14.99 for insurance, .... and THATS IT, I was also told he would be holding $100 on my card as a deposit on the rental .... then all of a sudden when I returned the rental I was charged over $70 total ????.... when i asked what for, he finally told me about the $.99 per mile charge! Had I known that upfront I would have just stayed using my friends pick up truck for free. I'm VERY ANGRY that this all transpired and it makes me not want to use Uhaul ever again. The man who rented me the truck was also a very rude and unpleasant man.... clearly customer service and ensuring the customer is satisfied is non existent at this uhaul location .... but I will certainly be telling all of my military buddies about this incident, and you can bet that uhaul will lose customers if something isn't done to fix this for me. Check in with the customer BEFORE you attempt to foist additional charges onto them. The truck I rented was filthy and smelled horrible. I had to buy air freshen so that I could sit in the cab.

Clerk was rude. He started my contract and in the middle of working with me had to stop and wait on another customer before finishing my contract. We were told the day before we did not have to reserve a truck they had many and when we arrived at the site the size we needed was not available. I was given the impress that U haul customers were not important and the Citgo mart business was more important since they were serviced before and during my transaction. I am positive I will never use this site again. It was a very bad experience for someone who ran their own business for almost 40 years. Thank you for allowing me to express myself.

Have some one who is knowledge about hooking up the u haul to customer's tow hitch. The person at this location never even left the building. I had to drive to the original U Haul location (where the tow hitch was installed) to make sure that the hook up that I had to do myself was done properly.

There were no moving pads and we desperately needed them and requested them online. That is a huge problem. Also, the truck seemed like the transmission was slipping and wouldn't downshift when we braked going down hill so it made a lot of noise.

You can have your providers not lie and try to get extra money out of their customers. Being laughed at and lied to is not my idea of a good experience. I had no choice but to use this site because there were no other sites available. My experience was completely negative with regards to the owners. 1 star, only because the equiptment was relatively clean.
