i had a problem with the air conditioning, at my destination, and contacted Uhaul customer service. The representative directed me to roadside assistance. I waited on hold for 20 minutes before hanging up. I called customer service again and got a different agent who gave me the direct number to roadside assistance. I called that number and waited 20 minutes again, hanging up. I finally fixed the problem myself. I paid over $400 for the rental of the truck and this is the first time this has ever happened to me.EDWARDJ JR G.
I was told I was being charged 70c/mile than when I returned the truck I was billed 99c/mile. I drove 69 miles so that is a huge difference. The employee recognized that's exactly what he told me and had to call U-Haul to ask why I was charged so much more. In a time where our family doesn't have much money at all that was very unfair to do to us.SHAWN D.

Location advised me at the time of pick up that ignition key â€œcould not be fully insertedâ€. To start the truck over four days I had to manipulate the key each time I drove it and once it took me several minutes to start with vehicles behind me. At drop-off I advised location to repair ignition before renting vehicle again.Brian K.
I was scheduled to pick up the equipment at 7am, as a mobile pickup, when I arrived, I was informed that my reservation was changed and to enter the building to pickup the equipment. The building is a combo gas station/convenience store and Uhaul. the Clerk began to help me, but whenever a customer came in for coffee or to purchase something, I was told to step aside so that he could " help the customer", this went on for over an hour, before the clerk finally completed my transaction. I wonder where I fit in as the customer, and why I was told to wait so many times while other customers were deemed more important. I was late to my move location. When I returned the equipment I had to take photos of the mileage and gas, the clerk would not step outside and look for himself. The clerk also told me to go back to the equipment and back it into the spot, as he didn't like that I had pulled in nose first. My experience was frustrating.SANDRAMARIE H.

This gas station robbed me via U-Haul. I happen to be a governmental auditor who audits business owners - so I know the type of garbage and lies that business owners pitch. I was over-charged $27 by this location for gas charges, after I filled the gas up to where I had originally started. I had photo evidence to show where it was. The clerk pointed at the contract and said I was supposed to verify the gas was 15/16 before I left. It was at 7/8 which I took a picture of. I confronted him and explained I filled the gas up to the level, right at his gas station, and he said he is not a manager. I filled the gas to where it was, but he charged me for 22.712467 gallons of EZ FUEL SALES which he couldn't explain to me He also gave me 2 prior contracts with customers addresses and phone numbers and credit card info on it! This guy is literally incompetent. And he robbed me. I'm pursuing small claims court against this gas station. I will be writing horrible reviews on my uhaul experience because of this gas station. Shame on this gas station - I am pursuing every avenue I can to make them feel this pain. And it's going to workVANG F.

My truck smelled of cigarette smoke, ashes were on the frone seats, and there was mud in the cargo area. I was very disappointed as this was my 3rd time using the same location. I've had no previous issues.RUTHE O.
I specifically declined insurance coverage, and when we went to return the vehicle, the store owner stated he could not remove the charge, â€œit's only $10.00â€ was his response. I agreed, but that it was my $10, not his to charge. He still refused to return the charge. We rented once before, this past fall, and at that time the same store owner removed the fee for the dolly from our rental and instead he told us that it could only be paid for with cash. He is a cheat, of both consumers and likely Uhaul also.STEVENM C.

Salesperson did not greet me for a least 30 seconds after had I walked in. He then helped a caucasian gentleman who walked in after me, first. Athough I had already reserved and paid online, I still had to wait 10 minutes just to get the key for the my vehicle. Customer service is very poor at this location!Andy D.

Garbage was left in the cab and bed of the truck. Not a lot but it could have been cleaned out prior to our rental. So I question if they disinfected the cab since there was still water bottles and garbage on the floor. We used our own disinfectant wipes to make sure we were safe. There should be covid protocol in place for vehicle rental. Also gas level was not accurate but a verbal agreement to return it as we received it was honored. Would rent again but will make sure to ask for a cleaned vehicle and ck the gas level prior to signing contract. Thank you.Henry I.

Even after doing on-line check-in, which was supposed to abbreviate the process, it still took considerable time to get moving. This was primarily due to computer problems at the pick-up location. I thought the workstation would have been better than a laptop and USB Credit Card Reader. I have rented U-Haul several times during the past year and this was, by far, the worst experience.Alan M.

Location was not upfront about the mileage and rate. Brought the Uhaul back with a full tank and there was no credit given. The uHaul was given with a half tank of gas. horrible business practices. Will not use Uhaul in the future and intend on sharing my experience on social media.Erik K.
I prefer to go to the store on Manchester to rent a U-Haul truck than to do business on route 9 south Rd in Poughkeepsie. The U-Haul on south Rd. Gives u false information on the time you have to used and return the truck. Plus they give you rude unprofessional attitude.Gilda M.

Worst Uhual experience I've ever had. Let's begin with the fact that Uhaul overbooked the truck that I reserved. When I went to pick up my reserved 15' truck I was told that they do not have the inventory. In the lot multiple trucks were available. The counter man told me a employee broke the key off in the drop box and was unable to retrieve the keys. Then I was told they couldn't help me and I had to call the uhaul 800-number. After waiting on hold for 30 min I was told I had to drive 20 min out of my way to get a truck. After using the truck I called uhaul to see if I was able to drop off the truck to avoid costly miles and tolls. Uhual told me I was unable to bring the truck to any other location except the one I picked up at. Very disappointed in the customer service that was provide and the logistics of how this business is operated. 1 star ratingPaul W.

A gentleman at this location tried to make me put more gas in the tank than the gauge was at originally. I tried to explain to him that I was finishing the reservation process on my phone and had already sent pictures to Uhaul. He claimed that he would close the reservation and I would pay for the gas anyway. I used to go to this location for my Uhauls, I won't be anymore.Noriza F.
It was hard to get in touch with the person at this site who oversaw the uhaul rentals - he was only available from 8-4 and I am in class during that time. Making calls is hard. When I finally reached him to ask about a piece of wood that fell off my piano and was last seen in the cab of the truck, he yelled at me for leaving the truck unlocked. He never answered about the wood. Not great customer service at all. Also, your app for returning the truck at 1 am did not sync with my moto droid phone and I was unable to record the location - although I had just used Google Maps to get there. Reminding me to leave the truck locked was presumably an instruction that would have occurred after this section of the return in the app? When I called to speak with a uhaul representative, I was told I could easily be charged $20 for not filling in this part of the app - I don't appreciate being treated that way at 1 am when I had to be up for school the next day at 5 am. I was not reminded to lock the truck. I don't appreciate being treated this way at 1 am when it is not my fault your app didn't work with my phone.Margaret C.
I recommend that the receiving location be advised when the customer has a problem or significant delay that affects their move. Apparently, due to a system outage we received our uhaul 4 hours late. The receiving location called me an hour after we received it to confirm and remind us when the deadline is for returns. They should have expected an angry,/stressed customer.....Michael C.

Did not know how to navigate the process. Sytem was slow, staff was slower. Friendly but not well versed in the proper protocol. Rental process took 30 mins at the start and 10 mins at the close. Would recommend better training at this location. Not a efficient customer experience.Robert H.

I had a reservation for a cargo van at 4PM. After driving an hour and a half drive I get there and they don't have anything. A cargo van showed up at 5pm. Then it took until 6pm for them to check the van out to me. Between U-Haul and this location this has been the worst U-Haul experience I've ever had.Chris E.

Primary problem - I had ordered a 10' truck and the only vehicle available was a 10' van. I had confirmed my order the day before. They had offered me no alternative; and no credit for the inconvenience.The clerks were very nice but since they were also running the convenient store and there was only one clerk, they had to deal with customers for both.RENNI A.

We were overcharged almost $900 for erroneous extra mileage. The woman on the phone was of little help. The person in the morning said to call back in the afternoon; then the person in the afternoon said to call back in the morning. When the issue was resolved (their fault) there was no apology offered. Very poor customer service. The person who helped on the UHaul line was very nice.Amanda S.

I reserved 10 blankets 2 weeks in advance but there were only 6 at the location. The truck was so dirty I had to clean it before loading it. BTW, I rented a UHaul truck a month ago from a different location (Be Wise Carwash) and had a wonderful experience.Gerard W.
