STEVE DDropped off on Saturday morning seeing they were reported to have open hours from 9am-12pm. It is possible they usually are, but it being closed was possibly related to an extended 4th of July weekend. In any event, we did a self drop off over our phone and the Uhaul process on the phone was pretty self explanatory. There was a large parking lot next to the office to leave the equipment. Rated in the middle seeing I didn't interact with anyone at the office.
Mark YThis location is home to several business which made it confusing as to what we were supposed to do. It's a small town in Iowa, so it makes sense that it wouldn't be a dedicated U-Haul. We were told in Pennsylvania there would be someone here from 9-12 on Saturday, but the only man there didn't know anything about U-Haul. We did the self-checkout and are hoping for the best.

Trevor SAs I stated before, the mobile drop off was going to charge me 41 dollars for gas when I had put gas back in. If I have to use uhaul again, I'm speaking with someone, in person, when I pick up and drop off. IF I use uhaul again.

SHERYL WWe rented a 6x12 trailer in Cedar Rapids and had to drive 45 miles to Monticello to pick it up. We did get a 10% discount, but that is not enough. We we spent $30 in gas and 1.5 hours to get the trailer. Also, when I was offered the discount they would not/could not tell me where the trailer would be. I thought it would be another Cedar Rapids location… not 45 minutes away. The trailer ran well and the trip was a success. Overall U-Haul gets 3 stars.
Bob SThe Monticello location was fine, but I reserved a truck to be picked up in Dubuque, which is 35 miles away. I placed the reservation weeks in advance. I had to pay that much extra in gas to go pick up the truck and to drive the truck back to Dubuque.
DOUGLAS OI had absolutely no problem with the location itself. I appreciated an extra day for rental, but it was quite far out of the way when my preferred pickup location was only a few blocks down the road. Last minute having to arrange a ride so I didn’t have to leave my car at the location was challenging.

DARCY YIf someone sets up the 24/7 pickup, actually put the keys in the box to pick up so they aren't wasting hours of time waiting for you to open. Especially when you called to confirm it the day before.
JONATHAN GSingle employee was a bit understaffed in the morning, but it sounded like they don't usually get this much U-Haul business here. With no front desk employee, manager brought me back to his private office, which while comfy, had some political messaging. Fine if you need to pick up in that specific area, but you could do better if other locations have what you need.

Steven Smy sister called ahead and advised the owner we were running an hour or so late to return the unit as the closing on our house went late, he stated they were open till 5 and he would be there, and as long as we returned it before closing no extra charge, my sister and my son were there to return the unit between 415 and 430, no one was there, it was all locked up, they tried calling, I tried calling, kept getting a voicemail, left several messages, they waited there till after 5. I finally was able to reach someone the next day, the owner, and he had left early b/c of a scheduled doctor appointment he said, the same person my sister spoke with prior to returning the unit. I was charged for a full extra day and he made it sound like he gave me a discount when he didn't.
