Rear lights in right side weren't working. I guess I assumed things would be checked before it wanst rented out. There was some trash in the van too but nothing serious. The staff wasn't helpful and the transaction was easy.Mellisa D.
The young lady who initially rented us the van was helpful, courteous and very pleasant to deal with. The older lady who checked the van back in was ignorant, unable to answer questions, rude and down right nasty. She is the reason I would not recommend this location. Prior to encountering her I would have give this site a glowing recommendation. In addition the 24/7 app and process were not user friendly.Michael R.

well there is really nothing to improve except that your u haul reservation website was having issues when i walked in to get a u haul for moving my items from a vehicle to the storage place for self storing them.i only needed the u haul van for a very short time & a very short distance that was really close by which was about 1 mile from the storage place to a service garage on route 5 wallingford connecticut & i had originally was needing it for a time of about 4 hours but was even less than that.i only put 3 miles on the entire trip & only about 2 hours to get everything completely done before the winter storm for today. the entire process n prices are really reasonable in regards to renting the u haul van was new to me & i truly would recommend maplewood self storage for u haul rentals because they are the best around wallingford area & other areas too.i truly do have a request for u haul company & that is for you to see about making your moving trucks with a roll top door that never freezes up on them.Geoffrey Z.

I said yes to the cleanliness question as the Van we rented was 'fine', however, very dusty, hadn't been cleaned in sometime it was obvious but again, for a moving van it was fine. The van did smell like dog pee. Probably could use a good cleaning and maybe an air freshener.Nichole Rene M.

For 80 miles uhal charged me 128$ absolutely fraud. And be careful on paper work, the actual gas in the tak tank is 6 gallon less than agreement document. This location told me the flat rent will cover 50 miles and on document it was 40 miles. Uhal is complete frud placeSAMBIT N.

Truck wasn't cleaned when I got it, dolly wasn't attached. Lady inside the facility told me to just drop the keys in the lock box when I bring it back and then they charge me $20 for not 'checking it in'. Poor management of the whole operation.Matthew K.

Truck was not cleaned out after previous renter who had just brought it back. Coffee cup left with paper in cab. Agent said not even wiped down steering wheel and she was told not to go into the vehicles. No sanitiser- nothing. She didn't even want to give me a few wipes for the steering wheel seat and dash! I had called another location Meriden- and was assured all.vehicles were sanitised and sprayed down . Had I known in advance I would have come prepared. This put my daughter and my health at risk. I am beyond upset about this! Your company is putting people at risk.of spreading this deadly virus by not evwn attemptimg to keep customers safe. No notice that vehicles are potentially lethal just to get into. No notices on site- no posted warnings online on your website. No disinfectant available on site. As a designated "essential buisiness" you have a responsibility to at least TRY to protect customers and alert tenters that they "rent at their own risk!" I bet this won't stay posted on your site so I will post on social.media.Kristen C.
I would like to recommend that the truck be cleaned well and spray with a disinfectant a day before it will rent out to another person in the midst of the corona crisis. This will ensure customer safety and satisfaction. I rented the truck and cleaned it a day before I used it to reduce the risk.Toan N.

Vehicle interior was dusty and a little bit dirty. Dash should be cleaned of dust, seats vacuumed and cup holders cleaned. Also, tire pressure warning light was on when we picked up vehicle and indicated that both front tires require air. Tire pressure and safety check should be a standard maintenance practice for U-Haul.glenn S.

The vehicle was advertised at $19.99/day and I was charged $89.00 for 5 hours. That's false and misleading advertising and I will never use UHaul again. And I'll be sure to tell anyone I know not to either. I am also considering informing the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney Generals office.Mike G.

Service light came on after we left and when I called no one knew what it meant. Drove ok so kept truck. But everytime I tried to start truck, even though I checked everything was in order, the truck ignition had no rhyme or reason and took 2 to 4 minutes to get it to start. Foot on brake, wheel position, door closed, safety brake off, all the checks...but then suddenly would start....even though you did same thing for last 2 minutes. 1) The truck reserved for the location was later identified that it was available at another location. However, the substituted larger truck was provided at the same daily rate, but the insurance cost was higher. 2) At time of picking up the truck the location representative did not inform me that the review of the truck condition at time of renting it was to be done via the U-Haul website 3) After leaving the location I received a text directing me to the U-Haul website to record existing damage/condition to the truck. When attempting to record existing damage to the truck at time of renting it via the U-Haul website, the website session timed out and a message displayed was to call U-Haul customer service. 4) Attempting to call U-Haul customer service, the wait time was over an hour and directed me to use the online chat 5) When I sent my initial message on the chat, I waited over four hours before giving up to proceed with my move. There was no response on the chat during the four hour wait. I even sent periodic messages over the four hours to make sure that the chat session was active 6) At the time of renting the truck, the location representatives stated just to put the key in the after hours drop-box. Upon lifting the lid to the drop-box I found a message (sticker) to process the truck return using the U-Haul website to record the condition of the truck. Though I took pictures of the truck for my own record prior to wanting to put the keys in the drop-box, the return process required current pictures that were not more than about 10 minutes old. Luckley, I did not put the keys in the drop-box prior to reading the sticker other wise I would not have been about to process the online truck return. 7) I would like to receive a credit for the difference in insurance cost and for the less miles traveled that was caused by delaying me from starting my move.PAUL S.

I was charged for a gas refill fee of roughly $21. I took pictures of the gas level when I got in the vehicle, and upon return. I filled the vehicle to the appropriate level and should not have incurred this charge. Scamming your customers is not a good way to do business. Sad I have to mention this.John C.
The uhaul itself was not the issue, the issue was that the uhaul was still frozen when we went to pick it up. the poor girl could not get to open the door and it took my husband an extra 40 minutes to scrape the ice off of the uhaul and warm up the vehicle out of our 4 hour window that we had to use for the rental of the van.Margo V.

Make sure the rental equipment is clean before renting to the next customer. Trailer had leaves and debris which we had to clean out. Tires were bias ply tires and one tire was cone shaped. Did not make for a smooth ride 800 miles away.Michele M.

I called on a Thursday asking for a van for Friday afternoon until Saturday afternoon. I told the gentleman on the phone that I would come for the vehicle after 3:30 pm Friday after I got out of work. When I arrived Friday afternoon at 3:45 the young man that was working at the time said that the gentleman I spoke to put me in the computer for 12 noon. So at 12:30 when I didn't show for the vehicle he rented it out to someone else, leaving me without a van to move my furniture. The young man then said If I wanted I could rent this HUGE moving truck. And as I had no other choice that late in the day I took it. The truck dashboard was lit up the entire time with a message saying Engine Oil Change DUE and shifted horribly but it got me where I needed to go and back. It would have been nice if when I told the gentleman after 3:30 that's what he put in the computer or at least called me to ask if I was coming rather than assume I was a no show. So glad I didn't break down while using it!WENDY A.

When I arrived at the storage facility, I found it closed, even though I arrived at 9AM and the posted hours were 9 AM to 12PM Saturday's. At 9.30, an employee arrived and although he wasn't the Uhaul representative he attempted to assist me in renting a van. So I was called saying that the key wasn't in the drop box, which it was. Then they wrote down the wrong mileage and said that I went over my allotted miles, which I did not, and they still haven't fixed my bill that should not exist. Also nobody was there when I went to return it even though it was during business hours.John P.
