I rated it below average due to the fact that several items I reserved were not available at this location. The did not have a furniture dolly, a regular dolly or 2 dozen moving blankets. The app allowed me to reserve these items but they were not available when I picked up the 26-foot truck I had reserved.

Gloria WWhen I pick up the trailer, it had mud, leaves and snow in it. I spent $4.00 cleaning the trailer at a car wash before I could use the trailer. Other than that, the U-Haul attendant was very nice and helpful.

Dixie PI showed up at 7am on both my pick up and return dates to see no one at the counter for 15 minutes. By the time Domingo got there he treated me like a he didn’t have the time for me.
CHRISTOPHER KTheir was unreported damge to the drivers side and the back of the truck was left filthy with sand, rice, and broken glass/pottery all over the back of the truck. They also didn’t have any moving blankets like I requested. The truck was probably the worst U-Haul I have ever driven.

KATHY BThe retail agent that bought from clearly has not trained all of its staff on U-Haul rental procedures. As a result their was a conflict that caused me paying for someone else's rental as well as mine own. This financial situation still is not resolved by U-Haul.
Winston WThe website estimate vs. the actual cost of the rental was vastly out of alignment. I was told it would cost $39.95 to rent a 26' truck from a location in Moncks Corner, SC and that when asked what estimated miles would be I chose 100 @ $1.09 / mile for a total of $109. When I picked up the truck I paid $176.58, which was very close to the 109 + 39.95+ 21 for safemove, safetrip and envrionmental fee of $169.95, so I paid it expecting the overage was just tax. When I turned in the rental at the Summerville location I was charged an overage of $17.76 for an extra 16 miles. The issue I have with this is I did not travel 117 miles, I actually traveled 46.6 miles total. Apparently, the classification of the rental was misunderstood by the sales agent and myself, and while I paid for 117 miles I only used 47 (30 of which were allowed per the rental agreement). When I called and asked about it later on the 19th of August I was told while the "in town" rate was $39.95 the "one way" rate was $142. This is ridiculous, and in my estimation is a dangerous "deceptive business practice". I will make sure that I never use U-Haul again for any of my moving needs (and I am getting ready to move again, so there is one customer you can never have back) and I will make sure I tell everyone to use any other moving company they can find vs. using your company. No one wants to use a company who takes advantage of people, does not make sure the charges are understood, and changes the rate based upon the method in which your product is used. I cannot understand how a company with such a large following can be so deaf to the needs and requests of customers. With the current cost of goods being as high as they are, any way to save money is desperately needed by all consumers. Your company has failed to provide adequate, even minimal customer service.

Shawn LThe trailers were nicely spaced out in a manner that was very easy to back up and hook up to, as well as being on the side of the parking lot that was far away from the store, so there weren't any car blocking anything. Overall a super easy to drop by, show the paperwork and pick up the trailer and go.
Andrew TOur biggest complaint would be that our pickup location was changed 3 times and each time it was pushed further from our location. We went from a pickup 10 minutes from the house to over 30 minutes away from the house.

George MYou changed my original drop off location to someplace much further away costing me time and money, without compensating me for either. Not happy with U Haul for that, or telling me the drop off location could compensate me was totally wrong.

CHARLES BY’all can improve by letting your customers Keep the appointment at the same location and not change it without permission at the last minute. I had a reservation for a truck at the monks corner location & the evening before U-Haul sent me a confirmation that it’d be ready to pick up at the Ladson location…32 miles away from my house which didn’t work with my schedule & the person who was supposed to drop me off. So I had to cancel it & rent a trailer instead because it was the only thing available. It made things difficult & caused much confusion & delay. I was disappointed. Thankfully a representative named Nancy at the Moncks corner location was helpful & accommodating. But I was very disappointed with corporate & lack of support from your company

Kyle B1. Tie-down ratchets need lubrication. 2. U Haul changed my pickup location at the last hour without notifying me. 3. People at U Haul locations should have proper training on what they have for equipment and how to enter it into the computer system. 4. This location had trailers only; no pickups or vans.
