We received a worn out tire, before we left to drive across Canada we asked for a new one and were told they couldn't do anything and that â€œwe run them until they blowâ€ we made it 6 hours before the tire blew on dry pavement. We booked a tow daully but there wasn't one there so they said they would give us a car hauler for the same price, I got charged for the car hauler which was twice the price.Laura H.

Good service from UHaull in Goose Bay. However, when I reserved, been advised that if the 20 foot truck was not available, UHaull would provide a 15 foot truck + trailer. No trailer was available and I had to organize to bring the rest of my furniture with a friend's personal pick up and trailer. Most importantly, although the Maritimes office confirm by phone that the 48 blankets that I reserved will be at the Goose Bay store for pickup, no blanket was available. Should I have know this before picking up the truck, I could have organized to borrow these blankets from somebody else in goose that had these blankets. Because I could not wrap my furniture in blankets, several items have been seriously damaged. Will call the Maritimes office tomorrow to talk to a manager regarding this serious issue. MarieMarie C.

Rented a 26ft truck. Had to drive 600kms with a friend and pay his gas to get said truck due to how isolated it is where i live. Picked up truck. Noticed both side skirts were bent to hell and truck had battle scars so epic you'd swear it seen action in a war... Drove it and filled tank. From 45 to say 75 km/h truck shook violently, most likely a bad U joint or steady bearing. Oil level was ok but dipstick was crispy with burnt on oil. Then the rain came and the wipers just smeared water all over the already rotten windsheild caked with insect parts and juices.... Got 300 kms and decided to top up tank. Truck took $150 so averaged around 4mpg in a truck that was EMPTY. Realizing when truck is full itl be even worse costing me around $3000 in gas i returned truck. Got charged $527 for the afternoon drive in that peice of crap. $300 gas burned on a truck thats advertised at 9-10 mpg..... Was now stranded 600kms from home so had to then get a $500 plane ticket to my house in NL because it was last minute. So all in all it was a $1500 day for me and i got nothing acomplished. Il never use that service again. Agent was friendly and respectful. Just the truck was not fit to drive.Devon O.

Trailer signal lights malfunctioned during 2000 km trip. Uhaul office in Quebec refused to help ("too complicated") Other garage mechanic declined to work on trailer. Had to drive trailer over 1500kms with faulty tail/trailer lights.STEVE J.

The trailer I used was for the purpsoe of of moving vehicles, Unfortunatly neither vehicles fit the trailer. I had to pay for a trailer that didn't get used. Ensure you have the correct dimension prior to renting. The trailer was solid and operated well.STEVE M.

I was billed the insurance, which I had declined in my online reservation. They said the system billed it automatically, yet this never happened at other locations. Even though U-Haul returned the insurance, they didn't return the corresponding tax. If you want to improve customer satisfaction, you need to deliver on what is agreed to when the reservation is made. Also, if the mileage rate turns out to be lower than the fixed rental rate, you should bill the lower rate.David W.

I'm appalled that you would charge me over $50 for fuel that i couldn't have possibly used by driving the van for 18kms. I will contact simplycars to inform this of the error, but really should not have to. Fuel tank level verification should be accurately done so as to not inconvenience customers. Originally I was supposed to pick up the van at another location, a drycleaner/tailorshop, but the agent refused to rent us the van we had booked. Due to language problems it took an hour before we were redirected across town to another location. While the Wyecroft road location provided good service and the van was new and thus a step up from the usual poorly maintained U Haul vans, the rest of the experience means I will be using other rental places in the future.Robert W.
There was an issue with this location claiming they cannot accept trailers due to a lack of a secured fenced yard. Although this is understandable this was not conveyed to me when I chose this location as the drop-off point when I picked up the truck and trailer. I phoned U-Haul and they said as far as they know the location does accept trailers. This miscommunication is not my error, and had to call U-Haul to contend the pending towing charge I would be hit with for U-Haul having to move the trailer to a secure location. Overall this was a terrible experience with U-Haul, and even though I've spent thousands of dollars providing you business in the past, I think next time I will save up for movers because I can't handle the stress of all these headaches and back-and-forth calling U-Hauls about issues that has to be dealt with and arent my problems.JASON A.
This rental was a mess right from the beginning. Nothing was asked of me for insurance needs or explanation of the charges. I had to ask the clerk for the info and had to resubmit my VISA number. I trust that the original invoice was cancelled as he said that this would be done but he did not have a reciept to give me regarding the cancallation. I asked for furniture pads and none were provided. I let the clerk know and I was still charged - received the invoice by email today! Also, there is supposed to be after-hours but I was told that this was not possible and have to bring the truck to another location from drop off. Very inconveninet as my car was parked at the other location and had to have somebody drive there. I was then charged over $300 where the bill should have beemn about $50. I had to wait over 35 minutes to clear up this mess! Now I have to call you stop the payment on the furniture pads charge! It was a terrible experience for the start to the finish!David C.
