Tran PThe location is convenient. I do not feel that the McLendon's team members are to be faulted for how the rental activity or UHaul systems are organized and handled. UHaul is trying to force the client into a self-serve system. They want you to have their app and be solely responsible for the check in and check out processes. Yet, there is no discount for doing all their work for them. The vehicles are not cleaned, the fuel tanks are not filled, the client has to wait to speak to someone, and yet is then still required to perform an inspection on their own. Rates have gone up, less personal service is provided. This is a UHaul question though, not McLendon. I would still recommend the location because it is conveniently located on the East Hill of Kent. Easy to access and parking is available.

ASHISH KThe return process was a bit muddy. To follow directions posted in front of store, photo could not be uploaded for mileage/gas at return. Returned to vehicle to take a photo while in the app and still did not work.
JANET FYou need to inspect your vehicles carefully. The truck I rented had dangerously bad steering. The lawsuit will cost you FAR more than having a mechanic inspect the truck. I hold a CDL and had trouble driving this truck. It was VERY difficult to hold my lane position.

SHARI PThe truck was dirty, the cup holders were disgusting inside. Once my truck was returned I was called 30 mins later with voicemail left stating I had not returned my rental and that I’m 10 minutes late and there was someone there to rent it. Then once I called back they said it was a mistake; but a follow up call when they realized their mistake would have been nice. For the amount of money I paid for the U-Haul, the truck was absolutely disgusting.

ELVIS KRacist mean and unprofessional. Truck was dirty with water bottles everywhere. I only a set chairs down the from Value village and I just realized they charge for cleaning fee. My white is forever stain because the truck was first with mold.

ROY HI rented the U-Haul at McLendon's account you still they did a wonderful job I picked up the U-Haul and then I dropped it off and called a uber to go back to my van at home I am very pleased with them and now I'm going to try to get a storage unit with them in Auburn

MEGAN EI ordered a van to rent online for Wednesday June 25, 2025. When I went to pick it up, the UHaul representative informed me that "Olivia" at UHaul Corporate Headquarters modified my order to a truck. I can not use a truck. They do not have side doors and they will not fit inside my car port, are less maneuverable and get less gas mileage. The nice UHaul representative changed the order back to a van but I would have to pick it up the following day, when a van rental was due to be returned. I go back on Thursday, already a day late, and was informed that someone else at Corporate Headquarters changed it again to a truck. NOT ACCEPTABLE! The UHaul representative informed me that she did have a van available that was returned, so I was able to get the van I needed, even though it was a day late. In the future, when I order a van and am told it is available, PROVIDE THE VAN! I can not use a truck! If it were not due to the screw up at Corporate Headquarters, I would have had a better experience. The employees at the rental location were knowledgeable, extremely helpful and are to be commended in being responsive to my needs.
ERIC SI really appreciate the prompt service I received. When I arrived I had no reservation and they supplied me with the truck rental that I needed. And on top of that the staff was so kind and friendly. Thank you Carissa and staff at uhaul at McLennan hardware.

Leon OI had an excellent experience renting my U-haul at Kent east hill Mclendon's Hardware. I did not get the name of the female cashier's name that rents out the u-hauls vehicles their M-F. She did an excellent job helping me through all the paperwork and phone procedures to rent the vehicle. And also, when returning the vehicle, it was quick and easy with the help of Mclendon's worker Joey.

PETER WThe people answering the phone shouldn't insist that I "be nice to her" in order for her to do the right thing. I am not a child, I had every right to be upset, and I don't appreciate being spoken to like Im 12. She can keep her sarcasm to herself, and not overcharge people, and not make people jump through hoops. I'll likely never rent another UHaul, 75 bucks for 20 miles and 24 hours in town is absurd, and I'll never go to McClendon's for anything ever again.
COLLEEN CI noticed a slight problem with transmission. Sort of shifting problem.
WILFREDO SClean and well maintained are two different questions. The vehicle was clean. I have concerns about mechanical maintenance. It sounded like it needed a valve job. Before I turned it in the oil light flashed on.
