ZEBBA SEven though this was a local rental only, the location did not have an extra set of keys in case of lock out. I pay for road service from AAA but they would not even accept a U-Haul rental service call. The U-Haul Roadside service charged me twice the going rate for unlocking the cargo van. This is extremely poor customer service, not to mention overly costly. ($200 for 2 minutes using a pre-designed tool.)
THEODORE HI understand you can’t help when people siphon the gas, but we had a pick up at noon it seems like one would be able to fill it for us to 1/4 tank or something. We were told “it’s on empty and driving on fumes. I’d probably go fill it up at the corner gas station.”
Hualeah AI don't know what the demand is at this site, but it was busy when I was there and there was a line. It would have been quicker if another employee knew the system so they could jump assist in that situation. The associate I dealt with was fine. Because I did mine reservation on line, I took a few minutes to get a truck once I got to the counter The drop off was fabulous.
Joseph STruck I rented was absolutely filthy, I had to do lysol wipes all over the inside, it smelled horrendously of stail smoke and then about 3am going through the WA/OR mountain passes, my ABS and Traction Control lights light up the dash, I had no cell reception up there, all I could think about was having my left hand on the door handle ready to open the door and ditch the truck if the brakes were to fail or go out around those sharp grades and curves, not a fun or safe trip. Definitely not how a paying customer of over a $1,000 rental should have experienced. I was already late when picking up the truck as I had movers getting paid by the hour waiting for me so I had no time to go all the way back into the store to try and exchange the truck for another. The whole experience was horrible, unsafe and gave me undo anxiety.

JOSEPH Srented 12 blankets only for one way. only had 11 blankets. overall order messed up as in town so charged daily rate with return date three weeks later. Luckily oregon location worked diligently to to rectify all the screw ups from original rental location.
Jo AFind employees that are less reliant on the computer and more willing to call instead of only using texts. This resulted in a higher price for no reason.
RENDY WI checked in online, but had to wait 19 minutes to get my keys for truck. Where as another location I got my truck checked out on time.

John NLocation was not convenient to rent from. The associate who helped me did not know what he was doing. Truck was dirty in the back, and smelled like cigarettes in the cab. There was also no 24hr drop or online rent option at this location. Big hassle!!

mary iThe location was great. This location was not the location I requested and having to go out of the way to pick up the truck was a problem. I had also rented an appliance dolly but the truck location didn't have the dolly so I had to go pick that up at my original requested location. I made the reservation weeks in advance, so my expectation was that everything was set to go. I will likely not use Uhaul again. Thankfully the people at the rental location are customer service minded and do what they can to help, but the Uhaul company and the company customer service reps are not helpful at all. Uhaul has really gone away from customer service and putting the customer service first.

Isaac NThe U-Haul was dirty when we received it. The inside of the cab was dirty as well as the backend the loading area, whatever that’s called. And we turned it in a day early and did not receive credit for early check in.
Deanne FThere was no one at the counter when the store opened. If my rental is for 7 am I expect someone to be there to complete it as I scheduled that time as we were on a schedule to complete our task! Then the truck was dirty inside the cab (dirt and trash on floor and behind the seats) and the bed of the truck had stones and dirt in it. The stake pockets were caked with old dirt. Plus the fuel tank was only at half, meaning you have to guess if you are filling it to the correct spot or spending extra money putting fuel in that you DID NOT USE. If I did not think it would take these people an hour or more to go fill the tank like it should be on a rental I would not have taken it in such condition. I know other vehicle rental places I have used try to get me to do this free fuel scam on not having a full tank but I always have them fill it before my contract starts. Shame on U-haul for doing this same scam!

Phyllis YThe location was fine. However, the rest of my experience wasn’t great. The passenger window exploded in on the truck when I was traveling. This happened on Hwy 18 in WA. There was no where to stop on this section of the highway so I traveled to New Bridge, WA and pulled over to call roadside assistance. I was directed to go all the way to downtown Seattle with a busted window in the rain. When I got to the location I had to wait an hour and a half because they didn’t open till 9am. Once they opened I was informed the truck was not available because the previous customer still had the keys. I was directed to another location so I drove there.. with the busted window. Once I got there I was told they didn’t have a truck either. I was directed back to that downtown location again. So, I drove back downtown and the customer miraculously turned in the keys. I had to then back up the trucks and transfer all my belongings from one truck to another in the rain. No help from any employee. I’m not that satisfied with either truck. Both had bad steering (oversteer). Overall, I’m not impressed with the handling of this. I was delayed 6-7 hours from my trip to WA to ND because of the busted window and traveling all around in the rain to swap out the trucks. You may contact me.
Michael HThis truck had a check engine light on and it ran like junk.it also had 1% oil life left. Scared I was going to break down. I spent almost 90 dollars for 2 days and didn't feel secure.

MICHAEL EGet real on the gas charge. There’s a gas station literally right next to the location. I was late so didn’t fill up but charging that much for someone to take the van to the next lot is absolutely ridiculous. Never using this location again.

DONALD BI was charged for two rental periods when I was told I would only be charged for 1, and I was charged for 30 miles when I only drove 12 miles. Charged 95 dollars instead of 40
Isaac NThe location was fine, but their online Uhaul system failed and kept giving them error messages anytime they tried to look at something. I arrived at 1:30 for my reservation and didn't end up leaving until 2:10. Additionally, Uhaul double booked my truck and it wasn't even returned by the time my appointment arrived. So not only was my reservation pushed back, but then I was forced to take a smaller truck which caused me to make more trips, which in turn cost me more money for "additional miles". Truck was also dirty on the inside. Absolutely ludacris.
JOHN MTry to actually have the equipment asked for. Suddenly getting a smaller truck only a day or two before moving day is unacceptable. There is absolutely no way to reschedule external help with that late of a notice

Bret KConvenient location, and nice enough people. Not well enough staffed to get customers in and out. The truck I rented was not clean in the cab or in the back. A walk-through at the end of my rental experience was not completed with staff, and I was overcharged for gas, them indicating the gauge was significantly lower than where it was when I had parked.

Taewoo KIf it wasn’t for the fact we were moving on short notice I would’ve rented from another vendor. I arrived at McClendons hardware of sumner WA to pick up my 26’ supermover, and when I got out to the truck I was shocked to see that The truck had several sizable damage spots on the side (not documented by the photos provided by U-Haul) the truck smelled moldy so I needed to purchase a vent pod to deal with the smell, steering wheel/cup holders/center console/seats were coated in a nasty sticky substance that I had to clean, had no windshield wiper fluid so we needed to stop halfway through and pick some up at a gas station, and an OPEN used pack of NarCan on the floor of the truck. One full package of narcan was located and left in the center console.
Jacob MPicking up my unit was super easy and fast. McCleodon’s yard was easy to get in and out of. Both check-in and out process was quick.
Jim GThe equipment was dirty (which had no consequences for my purposes); however, when I attempted to report the cleanliness problem through the app, the app placed a $25 cleaning fee. Even though I correctly documented the condition when I processed the through the pickup sequence in the app, the app automatically attempted to place me at blame for the untidy condition. My assumption is that the previous renter did not accurately convey the dirty condition upon return. In this instance, the convenience of the self-service app falls short and required a direct intervention from the very helpful person at McLendon’s. Although I am satisfied with McLendon’s handling of the matter, the app has some quirky attributes that could result in additional charges if the consumer is unaware.
