JAMES TI recently rented a 6x12' U-Haul trailer from the Cambridge location at Meta Joints Inc. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing due to the lack of professionalism and safety awareness shown by the staff on site. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that the individual assisting me was not trained properly. He seemed unsure of what he was doing and was taking instructions over the phone through his AirPods. It did not inspire confidence, especially since this was my first time towing a trailer with my SUV. I made it clear to him that I was new to this and specifically asked that the safety chains be securely and correctly attached to the hitch. Despite this, he brushed it off and continued to rely on instructions from someone else who was not even on-site. What’s worse is that the chains were completely misattached – they were not properly hooked into the brake system or even set in a way that would have prevented a serious accident. This wasn't just an oversight—it was a dangerous mistake that put my safety and the safety of others on the road at risk. When I returned the trailer at the drop-off location, the staff there was absolutely shocked by the condition of the chain hookup. He literally asked me, "How did you even make it here without getting into an accident?" He took pictures of how poorly the trailer was secured at pickup. The fact that the trailer made it without incident was pure luck—not good service. I understand that U-Haul provides detailed documentation for trailer use, but that doesn’t excuse the complete lack of hands-on support at franchise locations like this one. If U-Haul chooses to partner with third-party contractors/ dealers, there needs to be a serious standard of training and accountability. Customers should not be put at risk due to underqualified staff. This experience has left me shaken and disappointed. U-Haul, please review your training protocols and hold your franchisees / dealers accountable. I rented equipment expecting both quality and safety. What I received was negligence.

KYLE YI go for pick up the trailer that no one to help and I have to find out which one I should take it. It’s not good you it is trusted and you can pull out the belt. It’s hard to move car with them. Return my money
