My comments refer to the overall process of renting a trailer from U-Haul, and not my experience at Meunerie Alexandria Milling Limited, which was quite good. 1. On March 16th I booked an 8x12' trailer at 383 Coventry Road, Ottawa for pickup on March 12. At this time I ordered a light adapter and ball, for a cost of $69.38 2. On March 17th I received a call from U-Haul stating that no 8x12' trailers were available. The best that could be done was a 5x8' trailer at 3636 Innes Rd, Ottawa. I accepted that change. 3. On March 20, when picking up the trailer, I was told that the accessories I had paid for were at the other location. I could purchase them again. I purchased the light adapter for $23.67, understanding the other items would be credited to me. When actually trying to hook up the trailer, it was found to be faulty and was not road worthy. The closest available trailer was in Alexandria - 102 kms away. 4. Once arriving that the Alexandria location, I found that I still needed a ball, but was told that they are not stocked at that location. I needed to go to Canadian Tire a purchase one ($86.99). In summary... I did not receive the original equipment I had booked, I spent several hours driving over 200km to obtain a smaller trailer, and paid multiple time for accessories. This was a terrible experience and I honestly cannot recommend U-Haul to anyone.

MARK HEquipment was clean but we lost 20 minutes. We picked it up at night. It was a 3 hour thing . We lost 20 minutes. The lights on the trailer would not go on. Either the plug was wet or sprung wasn’t working properly. After 20 minutes we drove with no lights and 20 minutes later they came on. Truck plug was good we had a different trailer prior. The trailer did ride smoothly with the car on it . Satisfied for the price. Will recommend to friends if needed

Nicole RYou say there is an after hours charge however the fact that the feed store is not open on a Sunday which is an optimal moving day and you chose to charge me additionally is ridiculous especially when you offer mobile pick up and drop off if there doesn’t need to be a counter person there to pick up why are you charging people extra fees if the store is closed there should also be a mobile drop off which we completed. You’re just charging people extra and that’s a complete scam.
Steven RThe representative in Alexandria was very knowledgeable and very friendly. I booked the trailer on August 20th for September 1st and 2nd. The original location had it in stock. The next day, I got a call that it wasn't going to be available at that location and they sent me to another one but that location was still close to our house. On August 29th, I received another call that the unit was not going to be available at the 2nd location and was only available for pickup 45 minutes away in the wrong direction to where we were going and it had to be dropped off at that same location or else we would have had to pay a substantial penalty. The reservation platform was not updated properly or the equipment would have been where I ordered it from.
Jean MWe had to drive 50 km to go get the truck at our own expense. Then I had to drive 50 km back to my home town to begin moving. Then it was the same to return the truck at the end of the rental, so the extra cost for the km's plus our fuel for both vehicals and time, we should have been refunded or compensated. William EVehicle had an inch of mud throughout the interior, and dried raw eggs all over front and windshield. Clearly exposed to location and did nothing to clean. Attempted to charge a clean fee and charged for more fuel even though it was returned exactly as it left (almost empty) - go somewhere else
Brian BFirst off, I booked well in advance and on the day before,your head office called me to tell me that I could not get the truck that I ordered at the time and location that I had ordered it. I was only able to pick up the truck at a different location which was further away. This cause much havic because I then had to get someone to go out of their way to drop me off to that location at the end of the night to pick up my personal vehicle. I was also told that I could pick up the truck at 2pm and it did not arrive until 3pm. This meant that our move did not start until 3:30pm and it was dark by the time we finished unloading. Our voluntary help were very upset that we took their complete day when it originally was supposed to be just the morning. Not a good day! The owner at the pick up location was very respectfull, but this was not his fault. He did his best to help me.

pierre lvery poor service. additional charges in dispute. being ghosted, no reply. I dispute these charges and never agreed to this. There is no explanation as to why the charges increased. Your rep called Steve the Regional Manager who agreed via conference call to the return of the truck to your location as transmission was faulty and that there would be no additional charges. If anything I should have mileage reimbursed as I paid for 80 miles and only used 36. In addition gas used is incorrect and you have charged me 50.88 for 26L for a truck that was undriveable, AND which should have been $1.85/lt Please reverse these additional charges to which I do not agree. MONICA HI HAD reserved a month and half before my move, the personnel were excellent, however the district manager was advised on three different occaisions that I had reserved before anyone else and I was put on the bottom of the listing for the larger of the 2 trucks 2-bedroom truck, ended up haveing to take the smaller truck inwhich I could not get all of my effects in on moving day..I had to leave things behind and fill my car with items on the long drive to my new location. There were costly items, and have lost them due to not withholding the correct size vehicle for my move..this should definitely be corrected and district manager should care about those who reserve with plenty of time to give them what they requested.
