Where do I start? I showed up at 12:00 PM, and I needed to get the truck quickly. I went into the office, and the worker said I needed a â€œkey logo.â€ I still have no idea what a â€œkey logoâ€ is, so I presented him with my receipt. He told me to call a phone number that didn't work and then wait 20 minutes. After that, I returned and he called his â€œmanager.â€ That took another ~20 minutes. The â€œmanagerâ€ finally arrived, and by 1:00, he went into the computer and eventually retrieved the keys for me. Next, we went outside, and found the UHAUL stuck behind other cars they had double-parked, due to Black Friday. The â€œmanagerâ€ then smoked a cigarette in the UHAUL (I didn't really mind, but I didn't want to dirty the vehicle). He tried to back the UHAUL into a swamp to get it around the double-parked car, but wound up getting it stuck in the mud. He then called a tow truck to tow the double-parked car and the UHAUL. The tow truck worker yelled at me for some reason. I finally got the UHAUL at 2:00 PM. I asked the worker at the office, which was also a gas station, if I could get some money off the gas because he inconvenienced me so much. He disrespectfully declined me. I then spent $75 filling the UHAUL up, not even all the way, because it was completely empty when I received it. The rest of the trip was fine, but the pick-up inconvenienced me greatly. I'm afraid I will be very hesitant to rent a UHAUL again, and I will certainly never pick up a truck from that location ever again.Brian C.
NIGHTMARE. I did not get a confirmation call that I would have a vehicle until 7PM the night before pickup - TOO LATE TO HIRE HELP. My pickup was scheduled at 8AM. The app did not work properly. The people in the store could not help me. It took an hour and a half to get an, ultimately wonderful, person named Olivia from U-Haul on the phone to get out with the truck. I had to load the truck myself. I can't schedule and pay for help until I know I have a TRUCK. You need to do better.Michael M.

It took 1/2 hour to get truck out as mobile app was not working properly. The truck smelled like smoke. Original dimensions on page did not match expectations what I needed so I could not use it to transport shed I was looking to move. First time using self pickup, every time we called for help the woman would send us a video and say â€œit's self explanatory I mean you should really be able to watch a videoâ€. Wtf? The person who was there when I picked up the truck was rude and not friendly at all. I was given the keys and told to go around back and get it. The truck was dirty and there was garbage in the drivers side of the door. I have rented from uhaul before and have never received such awful customer service before. I returned the truck at the set appointed time. When I got there I asked that they check the truck. I was instructed that they would check it in the next day and send me a receipt. I have gave them they key and took Pictures of the mileage and waited. I did not receive my receipt until Monday day evening. I returned the truck in Friday at 7:30. This is not acceptable customer service. I will never use this location again, nor recommend it to anyone. I was also charged a 10.00 fee which I did not authorize when I made the appointment for the rental online. Yet I was still charged. Not happy at all.Antoinette R.

While it was a three day rental, I dropped the truck off after 36 hours. I saw no orange drop box for the key, as I had lead to expect, but the guy in the convenience store said I should leave it with him. The e-mail with instructions to take pictures, etc. when dropping off the truck did not arrive until the next day. Not very helpful. I had taken pictures on my own, but the on-line drop off did not work.Mike M.

I appreciate the Territory Manger "Dan Lasher" working with me. I had called him since my online reservation did not work as I could not process the steps needed online. He took care of me!!! In addition there was a slight delay with person working in the Central Valley mobile station as she was unaware of the rental. I was picking up the van prior to the UHaul manager arriving for the day. Please note she was not the UHaul Manager and was unaware of where the keys were. The truck was in good mechanical condition, however the rear of the truck was dirty. There was some sort of greasy dirt on the floor. The van was dirty, had garbage in it. I was handed the keys and directed to find it myself. The low tire pressure light was at the time of pick-up. My confirmation stated $20 for the CDW however I was charged $30 on the contract which I did not receive until I returned home and read that email. When I dropped the van off I was given a phone to discuss the charge with "Chris" who said it would be corrected on the statement with the final amount of rental. It was not. I would no rent from this location again and I will be more diligent if I rent from UHaul again.Enola L.

We did not get a copy of the contract. We were told that it will be e-mailed, but did not get that even. Hard copy of contract is very important for legitimacy of renting the truck or equipment, speciae road, if stopped for any check-up. We did not have license plate number or out-going mileage or gas tank level reading. This does not seem to be normal (not knowing if it is the U-Haul issue or the local agent's issue, but it is serious and very un-professional. We did not know how much money is being charged to us for the rental. I like to get an e-mail stating the resolution of this issue for my future renting, when needed.JAMIL I.

when i dropped off the equipment i was told someone would log it in later (i dropped off at 11am, my contracted time was for 5pm) i was offered no receipt for the equipment returned. i needed to follow up multiple times, and did not recieve notification that the equipment had been processed until much later; even then it had been processed improperly. Your customer service lied to me and stated that the bigger truck that I rented would only charge me $183.00 more when I got to the u haul location they wanted $900.00 more than your customer service rep. There was no charge however but a memo was on the counter stating they wanted $1,100.00 more. I found your customer service as well as the service I was provided with to have destroyed the integrity of your company. I was told I could collect a vehicle right by my apartment in Nanuet at 7:00AM on Thursday. On Wednesday at 10:00AM I was called and told I had to go all the way to Central Valley, New York and could not collect the vehicle until 12:00PM. No one was nice or helpful at all, except for one lady who allowed us to collect the vehicle on Wednesday. She gave additional miles and an extra day as well as lowered the price slightly to compensate for gas. Worst customer service experience I've been privy to in my 29 years, and the gas station rental lot employ is severely lacking in both the realms of communication, and comprehension. Uhaul will never see another dollar from myself, nor anyone else I can dissaude. If you guys acted like humans on the phone at customer service, this review would only own vitriol towards the gas station employ. However, uhaul as a corporation went out of their way to make this a more difficult experience for me, hence no more business and no good words to speak about them. You can start by having the truck available at the time contracted for. The rental truck shoukd have been fueled and ready at noon as per the contract, instead the truck was brought back at two pm with a quarter tank of fuel. I spoke to a few great persons along the way but got one service representative who was very terse and rude with me. In spite of the fact that I was having a miserable experience I was very respectful. I asked for her name and she hung up on me. When I got her back I explained the situation and I spelled my name for her. she scolded me. I responded that I was only trying to be helpful. She responded with hold on, and hung up again. Fortunately after losing two and one half hours I got the truck and got my move done. Poor planning, lack of professionalism and a track record for not having the vehicle requested has convinced me to higher movers in the future.WILFREDO M.

The location is a busy gas station / mini mart and the attendant's attention is drawn away continuously by other customers. Our problem was not with the location, but it was 45 miles away from our reservation location and had different hours which affected our move in a big way. In addition we were not notified but only found out because we stopped at our reservation location the day before just to confirm that everything was on track.KEVIN S.

The rep was more interested in taking care of his store customers than me. I was there first, yet i had to wait while he took care of the customers that came after me. The truck was parked in the middle of a mud puddle behind the building. Every other truck I have rented has beeen pulled out front and running. the rep inspecs the vehicle with me and provides me with all the paperwork, none of this happened at this location. I even had to help the rep empty the truck of all the pads that were stored in it. The inside of the cab was muddy and the bed of the truck was not clean. I would never rent from here again.JOE D.

This site claims they have a 24 hour drop off, but there is no key drop and they just want you to leave the keys with whomever is on the register at the time. With no receipt or anything. When initially signing for the truck, we never stepped foot outside, until I refused to sign the contract until after I had seen the fuel and mileage gauges. The employee was very rude, like I was putting him out. Honestly, next time I will pay for the couple miles extra and rent elsewhere. All in all it was a bad experience.EMILY W.
