Customer service was terrible. Phone consultants have little knowledge of what they are doing and will provide incorrect information with confidence even when they know they're wrong. Information was recorded but never asked, the pricing and package was communicated incorrectly, talked with several different people and they all said different things, no one is on the same page and notes are either disregarded or never written down in the first place. Website is not user friendly. Options are non existent. Gas station attendants don't have any knowledge of the company or contract information.Adrian H.

Advise customers that it is very hard to determine exactly where they pick the truck up and notify them that it is only a gas station/convenience store. The employee that assisted me was rude and deceived me of the truck being cleaned and sanitized. He also said the truck had a full tank of gas and it did not. The truck reeked of cigarette smoke and another employee verified the odor and the ashes all over the entire trucks cab. I cleaned Legos out of the back along with other debris!patricia V.

I was scheduled to pick up the truck at 8:00 am. The owner of the store didn't arrive until after 8:30. I had time to go to another location where they gave me the 1800 number and return. When he finally showed up he acted like nothing happened. Very rude. Not a good representative of Uhaul. I have used Uhaul before and had good experiences at another location but definitely won't return to this location.chantel P.

The U-Haul Enterprise Software system was down during my pickup. The representative at Morty Management did a great job dealing the inability to issue me the U-Haul due to the outage. Over roughly a 90-minute period the Morty Mgt representative did all that he could do to manage the U-Haul outage. For the Morty Mgt Rep, I give an A-rating. For U-Haul during the software/webpage outage, which included me calling the U-Haul Help Line for assistance, I assign a rating of â€œfail.â€ The U-Haul Help Line agent was unable to provide any assistance and given the 24-minutes on hold to speak to an agent, the unsatisfactory customer service experience created a lasting negative memory for me.Thomas L.

The truck pick up was great it was the, the location where the dollie was picked up the so call manager was very disrespectful for no reason at all , and even more arrogang l when he called asking about the return of the dollie, VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE RICHLAND UHAUL STORE, HE NEEDS TO BE FIRED CUSTOMERS ARE TO BE TREATED WITH THE HIGHEST RESPECT ,OBVIOUSLY HE WAS TRAINED ON HOW TO BE SARCASTIC .Tomasenia G.

The man behind the counter had a toddler with him. Did not have a mask on and no protective glass/plastic for protection of customers. He was rude!! I asked him to put a mask on he said no. I am a high risk pregnancy which puts me in risk. After inspecting the truck the interior had trash, dirty floor boards and food crumbs in the seat!! Drove to my place and opened the back of truck expecting to see the dolly and blankets I paid for and there was nothing (usually the truck has it hanging with a seal). I called the location and again the rude man said it wasn't his problem he just rents the trucks. I inquired how am I going to be charged for something he doesn't have. Again, he stated not his problem to call customer service. I phoned customer service in which I had to go to an actual uhaul store further away to pick up utility dolly and blankets. When returning the truck I left it cleaner than when I got it and full tank of gas. Completed return online. When I went to turn the key in to the store same rude man with no mask and toddler were there. I handed him the keys and he said I need to give him proof of mileage and gas. I told him I submitted to uhaul because he refuses to wear a mask I didn't want to get too close to the counter. He said no I need to give it to him I told him to call customer service because it's not my job to do his job amd that's his problem. He told me to leave his store which I gladly did and will never do business there again. Not for gas, uhaul and whatever else they sell!! Uhaul needs to discontinue service with him as he is tarnishing their good name and experiences I have had previously with Uhaul.Gillian P.

Location was changed one day before my rentL. Showed up an hr prior to pickup time (pickup 8am) as that what was provided in truckshare as an allowable thing, ended up waiting for someone to show up and give me the keys for two hours. Sort of ridiculous when im being charged 300$ to rent a truck. Very unhappy with u-haul, will not recommend to a friend.Connor B.

This may have been the most frustrating experiences I've ever encountered with a rental service. After not being able to understand my question about insurance (I requested insurance during my online rental agreement and was asked again about insurance during checkout), I inadvertently declined the Safeway insurance option. After realizing this error and following the instruction in my email to return inside to put insurance on the vehicle, the clerk said there was nothing he could do and to call customer service. Then after being on the phone with customer service for a half an hour, after being transferred three times, customer service said there was nothing to be done because a half hour had passed! Then said if I wanted to return the truck I still be charged! Moving is already tough in and of itself, and U-Haul made it unnecessarily that much more difficult. I will look for other options should I ever need to rent a truck again.Bryant T.

Area was dirty and barely any room to park the truck. Using the app or website stinks. I shouldn't be responsible for taking pictures of the truck when I pick it up and return it. There should be a person onsite checking in and checking out the trucks. It was raining and I had to take several pictures in the rain and I got soaked. Ridiculous.Heath S.

We had a very bad start to this rental. We were contacted on the day of our pick-up with a change of pick-up location, to a very inconvenient new location in a different city, requiring us to go through a congested tunnel with tolls. I asked for other possibilities in the original city of our booking and was basically told that our only choice was to go to the new assigned location. Then, having made it through the tunnel, we drove right past that location, which turned out to be an Exxon gas station with three U-Haul vehicles parked behind it. So I am answering "Not Applicable" to the question about recommending this location to a friend, because I did not choose the location. There are two reasons I am not giving the lowest possible rating on the pick-up experience. (1) The vehicle was clean and in good condition. (2) The young man at the Exxon gas station knew his stuff, got us signed up and on our way quickly - thank goodness, because we had lost a lot of time by now - and was relaxed and friendly. We couldn't be mad at him, even though we were very, very mad at U-Haul at this point. Sorry I don't have his name, but kudos to him. He helped turn the corner on our rental experience and, once we had calmed down, things went well from that point onwards.John D.
Truck had items (debris) left from the previous person that had rented it. Waiting time to pick up and return were too long because there was only ONE worker performing several tasks. Worst experience ever. Our reserved truck was given to somebody else using our reservation earlier that day. Then the clerk behind the counter said he was unable to do anything, he could not rent us the truck without a reservation which had been given to somebody else, and he could not make a reservation for us. We had to call U-Haul and do it over the phone. This is a convenient store, so as we are dealing with this clerk we are continually having to pause and wait for him to sell beer cigarettes and gas. It was extremely frustrating.erin G.
When we arrived at our appointed time to pick up our truck we were informed we had already picked it up and returned it earlier that day. We had not. We were told our reservation was gone because it had already been used. We had not used it. The man behind the counter told us he was not the person there that morning when our reservation was used so he didn't know what happened and he could not do anything about it. He said he could not rent the truck to us without a reservation and he could not make a reservation for us. We ended up calling uhaul and dealing with someone on the phone to make a new reservation.erin G.

Had to wait for customers who were purchasing gas and others who were buying convenience items from the gas station store. No one walked outside to look at trailer or vehicle. Handed us a hand written ticket with the trailer number on it and sent us out to find it. Still have no receipt.cara L.
The rep was rude and he put the wrong information down for my rental then charged me double for my rental and did not refund my money. He got very rude and belligerent and even asked me. Pto leave the store. I would not leave until after my rental purchase was rectified. My husband went to deal with him and was told that they would be refunding my money after 7pm this day 6/26/2019. It is now 7:43pm and there's been no refund as of yet. I will never deal with this particular location ever again and I will tell others not to as well. Online they were to be opened at 6am but the clerk was late and did not get there until 6:45am NEVER NEVER,AGAIN!MONA F.

I had an absolutely horrible experience and when I have to move from VA to NJ next year and my boyfriend has to move from Northern NJ to Southern NJ. I will make sure neither of us use u-haul to make our moves. I will also be making sure to tell all my students that graduate in May about my experience so they do not make the same mistake I do when moving to their new jobs.Michele S.
