Staff was very rude and uninterested in doing any work. When I arrived the clerk had her head laying on the desk with her coat over her head I had to ask to be helped more then once. They had a terrible attitude about having to do work at all. There was not a walk around done, I didn't have any assistance backing up to the trailer or help picking up the heavy trailer to put on the ball of my truck. My overall experience was extremely poor because of the staff and location the trailer itself was fine but do to the staff and location I will not go back there and have advised others not to go there already and will continue to do so. Strong consideration should be taken on if this location should be allowed to be apart of your company. I have used U-Haul many times in the past and have been pleased. The lady, did not have enough staff. So 20' truck and trailer were not ready. After she verified the location of trailer. I went out to begin travel and the trailer was blocked by other Uhaul vehicles. I had to go back in the building and ask her to move the Uhaul vehicles. THEN I had to back the truck up to the trailer, she did not assist. Very very bad customer service!!!!Jovett J.

Uhaul knows how to get extra money. I had to drive all the way across town to get my truck. It was supposed to be picked up 5 miles from my house. So payed 40 dollars in unless miles. Then could not check in back in online then charged another 20 dollars for checken after hours never again will I rent from Uhaul.Ken B.

Due to your system not being up to date, I lost $180.00 worth of wages. Management never called back.. I used Uhaul 4 times in 10 years, it's always and horrible experience. The local manager and marketing person, provide horrible customer service. They didn't care about the issue, so I tried to speak with Corporate, but they never called back. The experience was a disaster. Truck was dirty, got charged a cleaning fee for bringing it back in the same condition it came in +full tank of fuel. Got in contact with the manager for my cleaning fee back and was told I'd get it back. However instead of getting it back I got charged another $32.19 and still haven't received a response on why. This brings my total to $164.39. I was originally going be paying $103.20 but ultimately ended up getting ripped off. The only thing I really want is either all or half my money back. Note: as of writing this I still have gotten no correspondence from the company on this matter at hand. In short Never rent a truck from here. Good luck out there y'all!mark M.
I reserved a 26' truck from a U-Haul location in Woodstock, Al using the U-Haul website. I was later informed by e-mail that my reservation had been moved to the Bessemer location, 20 miles away. I called Mrs. Nadia's Army Navy Surplus to confirm. I was told that I would be charged the extra 20 miles distance each way even though I reserved from a closer location. I also had reserved pickup for 10AM, but it had been changed to 11AM. The lady I spoke with assured me that they opened at 10AM and I could still pick it up at that time. The next morning, we arrived at 10AM, but the store was not open yet. The owners finally showed up at 10:30, but told me that I would have to wait outside for another 10 minutes. Once they let us in, they said it would take several minutes to get the computer started to check us in. The young lady who processed my rental firmly informed me that once I left the premises with the truck that implied acceptance of the contract and then asked did I want the contract sent to my email or to my phone by text. Since I do not have email set up on my phone, I requested by text. Several minutes later, she informed me that she had sent it to my EMAIL. Already, an hour late and with my moving help waiting on me, I didn't argue with her. She also told me that the truck had 7/16th of a tank and that I must return it with 7/16th of a tank. How Bizarre is that? Why not rent it with a full tank and require it to be returned full? I guess each renter should jump in and out of the truck as they refuel to get the gas level exact? Before I moved the truck, I took a picture (happy to provide it to anyone who cares) of the dash gauges showing 5/16th on the fuel tank and the odometer reading, 156,435. Late that night when I returned home and read my email, the contract stated the odometer as 156,428. I know 7 miles is basically just $7.00 more, but dishonesty really irritates me. If someone will cheat on little things, they will cheat on bigger things as well and if this business or U-Haul as a whole adds just a little to each rental, over time those littles add up to a substantial fraudulent profit. Of course this 7 miles is added on top of the 40 additional miles that U-Haul charged me because THEY moved my reservation. The truck was adequate in size and made the move without breaking down. The motor did seem to have a slight miss and the AC barely cooled the cab, but it was basically clean and served our purpose. I didn't bother with getting the fuel tank to 7/16th, I just filled the truck up and returned it with 3/4 tank of gas. All in all, it did what we needed but left me disappointed with the company and this location. The U-Haul website needs to immediately notify the renter if a truck is unavailable at the requested site and offer the renter their choice of other available locations/options and CLEARLY notify them that they will be charged the additional mileage. Business closed for dropoff. Uhaul remote return was 1 out of 10. Weblink doesn't work well with Google Chrome. 45 minutes to return 20' truck and 6'x12' trailer. Also not happy with the inability to drop the trailer to unload the truck. Both pieces had to be returned at the same time.Daniel A.

I was totally over charged,I return the truck the evening of August 13,2019 , which was the same day of rental about 6:45pm, and the young lady didn't check my truck in until August 15,2019.She also added additional charges to my credit card, which was another days rental which was $29.99 plus a $20.00 late fee and I was not late, those people aren't doing there job at that location, I have enjoyed renting from Uhaul but never ever from that location again, and can you please return my money back to my credit card plus tax.i feel this is something y'all should know.you can always contact me at+12052600132 Thank y'allKenneth C.

The customer service at this location is HORRIBLE. When I walked in there were two men who was behind the counter so I made the assumption that they both worked there, but only one of them were able to assist anybody that came in the store. I spent over an hour in this store and the other male just walked around looking. I was there to rent a tow dolly. I was constantly interrupted by the sales person cell phone, which he never apologized for. When I finally finished my paper work for the rental I asked if they had someone to hook up the tow, I was told no, but it's easy and I should read the instructions. He was right ,it was easy, but what every happen to men being a gentlemen. Myself being a female along with my sister-in-law struggled to hook up the tow while in the pouring rain. We had to ask a CUSTOMER who was leaving the store if he would help us to lift the ball to secure it to the hitch, only because it was heavy. I understand you have rules because of insurance purposes, but a nice sympathetic NO, is better than "NO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS"Janet B.

The little girl that was at counter looked to be no more than 14 yrs old. She was rude. She couldn't spell my address that I was moving from correctly. She demanded that I sign off on damage sheet without going over the truck with me. She refused to go outside. The old man behind finally said he would walk around the truck with me. So I originally went by a authorized Uhaul dealer and put my info in computer to be delivered to his location since it was 2 blocks from where I was moving from. And they told me they couldn't deliver there. My question is "why have a dealer that you can't deliver to? That doesn't make sense". The whole purpose was for me to save on mileage. But I will NOT rent from that store again. I will have to pay the extra mileage and go back to Pelham where I was i treated with respect last year. Do not rent uhaul fronm Ms.nadia army surplus in bessemer.She has her 12 year daughter checking in uhauls and checking them out..and she doesn't want to work in their store. I asked questions and received. .i dont know answers and she finally had to call her mom and put her on speaker phone and she does know what she is doing. Her husband couldn't asnswer any questions neither and when i received the truck it was a notch before E and so thats where i refilled my gas to...returned truck she wants to charge me for gas which is 64.00 dollars and it was given to me on a notch before E...theses people need to be trained again before they give uhaul a bad name.Zoe E.
If I reserve a unit on line and get to pick where I pick it up then stand behind that. I was notified by email the day before that my location was changed. I had to go 25 miles out of the way. And the new location did not open until 10 where the original place opened at 8:00. Time is important in moving. the new place I was sent was not open. Had to wait an hour for the owner to show up. sending me 25 miles out of my way to a location that cost me three hours of moving time is ridiculous. The drop off site we left the truck in needs more experience with uhauls. The owners 12 year old daughter was trying to help the older gentleman close the return. The return took 30 minutes and they tried to charge me more money? Couldn't tell me why?craig G.
First of all, they were 15 mins late in opening the doors, which made me wait. Second, the lady helping me started to go inspect the truck I was turning in when another customer came in to pick up a truck, and the gentleman working there told her to have their child(maybe 10 yrs old) go inspect it and get the mileage and amount of fuel in it, so she could help the other lady instead of either finishing with me or him taking care of the new customer. While I watched all this going on, the child came back in with the paperwork so the lady proceeded to finish putting in the information into the computer and she said I was being charged another $24.00 fuel charge. I asked "why" and she said "I don't know, it looks like you went over your mileage". I told her I did not go over my mileage and there was more gas in it than when I picked it up so I was not going to pay anything else. We went back to the truck to reinspect it again, and come to find out the child which she had sent to do it in the first place did it incorrectly. The mileage was wrong and so was the amount of fuel she had written down. The lady then corrected it and said I was good to go and would get an email confirmation of the vehicle being turned in. It took me almost 25 mins to turn in a vehicle when it should have only taken 10 mins at the most. I am not very happy with this location and will not go back there. It took me one hour and fifteen minutes just to pick up my truck that I had already reserved. There was a 12 year old running the counter. Her computer locked up about 5 times and she had no idea who to call or what to do. I reserved this truck to move my daughter home from college in Tuscaloosa after her graduation. I was late for graduation just from waiting forever on this truck that I had to pick up 45 minutes from my reservation location. I would not use this business for UHaul because it gives uhaul a bad nameMISTI F.
