I had to use this location which is an hour away from my original home. We use the Poughkeepsie, NY location and we're not able to get the hitch that we ordered. I was not told that the hitch was on back order when I ordered it (3 weeks in advance) which led to a car having to be left and brought in by someone else. This made it much more expensive and honestly was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company.

There is no sign indicating that you need to go inside the establishment for UHaul information. I was standing out there for a while and no one came out to ask me if I needed help. Also they were closed at the time of drop off and the instructions of key drop of are not user friendly. They should be provided prior to for example: your rental is due back at 5:45 and we will be closed by that time. Please get familiar with the steps you need to take when returning it since no representative will be here at that time.

When I went to pick up the rental which I did not opt for insurance coverage on, the owner told me he would not rent it to me without paying for the insurance. I could not change my plans, so I paid for the insurance. The insurance is optional for a reason (my auto policy covers me), individual owners should not be allowed to strong arm customers into paying for insurance if it's not required. I will not be renting from this location again, and I feel that I was ripped off.

This location is also a gas station and the person managing my rental was doing a lot of things at the same time. Not exactly top notch customer service and old school methodologies (not tech savvy) but I did get the vehicle I reserved and left with it, so I left with what I ordered with the exception of the cloths that were supposed to be in the truck. I was refunded these when I returned the vehicle at my return location (different location). It was a rushed experience, but not horrible. Rough around the edges.

Make sure that people know what the process is for checking out a truck. I wasn't initially given a copy of my contract and was told that it would be sent toe electronically which I found out a day later wasn't accurate. I forgot and left my keys and the owner refused to give me my keys because the person who checked out my truck didn't charge my card correctly. Which I wasn't aware until I checked.

When i arrived to mutual motors they had me down for a 16 foot van, not the auto transport that i had requested through uhual. I also ended up paying double of what the estimate was, i was not too happy about that. Better communication between uhual and the pick up locations is needed as well as a better price estimate system. I don't know if i will use uhual again.

The location was a gas station. Inside was very dirty. We had to wait for the person who wasn't there and who knew how to operate the computer since the guy inside didn't know anything about it. If that doesn't bother you, they have the equipment there for you to rent.

dropbox was very hard to find, also I tried to call several times, but no one picked up the phone. We left a sweatshirt in the truck and would like to get it back, but cannot reach anyone.

There was nobody there. The key drop was hard to find. The gas station is under co strict ion and not open. I would not recommend this location to anyone. I had no idea what to do.

I rented a trailer weeks in advance to take on vacation, only to be told the day before we left that it was unavailable, I then had to make arrangements to rent the WRONG kind of trailer from a location an hour away from my house. I had to make due because I couldn't cancel my family's vacation because of u haul. On top of that the rental prices at u haul are ridiculous, way too expensive. I rent trucks and trailers often for both my business and personal use, and I avoid u haul at all costs in favor of other rental companies because u haul is too expensive and too unreliable.

I had a terrible experience using Uhaul yesterday. The location that I rented my truck from gave the truck away. I was supposed to begin moving at 9am. I hired movers to help me. Unfortunately since there was no truck available we could not move until much later in the afternoon. Of course this cost me money because I had already hired the movers. After speaking to the uhaul rental worker he initiated a credit to my credit card and I still have not received any type of refund. Locating a truck at a different local location was frustrating to say the least. Every location we spoke to was very rude and not willing to work with us. I ended up finally finding a 10' truck which causes us to take multiple trips. I had originally rented a 17' truck from the Danbury location. I am writing because the bill at the end of the entire day was $206. Meanwhile My friend and I rent a storage unit in the Danbury location. One would think that since we pay monthly to house our items at a uhaul location that we would have been treated a little better. To rectify this situation I would appreciate at minimum the credit that was initiated to my account while at the Bethel, CT location. I've submitted a file with your customer service department over the phone and have a reference number at this point. I just wanted to document a review of my experience as well.

Very polite and friendly people! Great little shop in a highly convenient and easy to find location. Attendant commended my driving skills and thanked me for returning vehicle clean and with 3/4 tank of gas. Also great food nearby.

Van worked very well and was clean. However, there was a warning when the ignitiion was turned on that said turn signals were not working...but they were working. And also the low tire pressure icon came on, although none of the tires looked low.
