I had my reserved vehicle changed multiple times, did not receive the truck reserved, was told a hour before pick up I needed to travel 40 min each way to pick up a larger truck in a different city, was charged for extra miles as a result, did not receive the equipment requested, staff at New London and Waupaca were rude.

Pickup was very confusing, and it took about 6 hours post pickup to hear anything from them. The number to call was unhelpful. We’re just glad that everything ended up working out in the end.

MARK HThe gas tank was not full when I picked up the truck. It was a quarter a tank empty, but I was not able to let anyone know, so I paid extra when I dropped it off with a quarter of a tank low.
DEBRA GI returned the truck with more gas in it than when i picked it up. Charged me $30 for gas. Truck floor was full of dog hair when i pcked it up, charged me $35 to clean it. You people are corrupt as fuck!

KEVIN NPerson at hotel counter had to no idea what was going on. Didn’t inspect the truck at all. I ended up taking pictures of everything so I couldn’t get charged later. Never left the counter. Wasn’t helpful at all. Didn’t give me any info or paperwork regarding my rental. Had to pick this truck up 45 mins away from the location I originally wanted/needed. So messed my whole day up.

Seth DUHaul confused this rental with the one we did the week before and had the first truck listed as out for 6 days, when it was only out for the 2 days we ordered. Then I was overcharged for the trip, by a lot. I have emailed them to try and get it straightened out, but have had no response. Even my original receipt has never been updated. Good thing I took pictures of original and end mileage and the dates are on it. Protect yourself!
Sherry MThis location is a hotel with Uhaul options. The gentlemen behind the counter was not at all helpful. He told me to just drop the trailer in the back. After I did exactly what he told me to do he came out and demanded that I move the trailer to a different spot. When I explained it was a auto hauler and was extremely heavy he got even more agitated. Ultimately I hooked it back up to my truck and moved it to where he wanted it. My son and I were late to our next appointment because we lost valuable time being belittled by a man who's english was so bad you could barely understand his hateful undertones.

I had to drive back after an hour to check in the trailer myself on Uhaul.com

TONY SThe employer who handed me the keys stated: fill the gas tank up, so I did. I drove less than 10 miles total just to move a washer/dryer. I filled the tank.. it was only half full when I got it so 67 dollars later the employer scuffed and said not his problem. The lease says to fill it to where the line is upon picking it up. Just because he said to fill it up all the way didn't matter. The gas costs me more than the rental itself. Absolutely ridiculous.
Jonee GIf the business has the authority to inspect, then cause the customer to be charged for cleaning, then they better also have the responsibility to clean the truck.. the same truck used was dirtier than the first time.. never did see the paragraph re customer cleaning responsibility.. had to ask how/where to do the pre-inspection, the online routine was so convoluted, glad I was able to talk with a real person and not get charged for a 2nd cleaning charge. Also, the business does not care (nor is trained??) about anything other than having customer sign VERY detailed contract, take license & credit card & turn over key.

Terry PThis place likes to just charge you without telling you how much they will charge. I've used this place once before and they charged me for things I didn't approve of. They just ask for a card and say "you're good". This time I made sure to have them go though everything they were going to charge me for. Just like last time they wanted to charge me an extra 8 bucks for something I did not agree to. Quite frankly if this is how you allow people to run uhauls, by sneakily charging people. Then I guess it's pretty upsetting.

Lisa fWe did not receive a receipt or any paperwork. The person who we rented the U-Haul from took pictures of my ID and debit cart with his personal phone. Did not go over any pricing. I also believe we were overcharged as it was almost double what we paid for a U-Haul a month ago. We were also told we could drop off at any location since we were undecided but I got a text an hour later telling us our drop off location wasn’t even in the same city as the zip code i gave him.

James BYou probably can't do anything. They people were trying to be helpful. One didn't know how to use the software. The other was busiy with the primary business. They obviosly care about equipment quality and condition, because they made another customer sweep our their u-haul truck rental, which looked clean to me. However my trailer rental had a smashed plug and it took quite a bit of work to pry the contact open enoug to make it usable. It probably damaged my connector forcing it together. Only time will tell.

ernst nTruck windshield was very dirty and bug ridden. Whippers didn’t clean it. Cleaning at a gas station barely cleaned it. Inside of the truck was very dusty and dirty. Needed to be wiped down and sanitized.
Nathaniel LFirst, I had chosen a specific u-haul location and received email and text confirmation of that location. I had received no additional emails or texts from u-haul regarding my order. I arrive to the u-haul location that was confirmed, and the business was closed, but a rental van that fit my order was there. No one was to be found. I call the support line, and they said they had to update my pick up location and said they sent a text and email. I had received neither. I was able to get my rental from a different location (not to mention the inside of the back of the truck was sticky and dirty on the floor), but this miscommunication was handled poorly on u-hauls end. The customer service rep that I spoke with was incredibly unhelpful and did not offer any help or apologies. That is the reason for the poor review. However, the person who actually rented me the u-haul at the location was helpful and kind.
Hope LI was quoted 222 for a rental, I confirmed my rental ahead of time and when I arrived, the Rohan the attendant stated it was 297. I showed him my rental confirmation and he would not contact uhaul to adjudicate the discrepancy. He kept telling me to pay the 297 and call uhaul myself. I then called the uhaul rep who confirmed I was correct. Rohan then then called his boss, who agreed with me, ultimately the issue was resolved after nearly 1 hour of back and forth. No apology was offered and several times during the interaction, Rohan left to attend to other tasks at the hotel. I have rented from uhaul over 20 times in my life, this was far and away the worst experience I have had.

WENDY FIt was supposed to be contactless pickup, it took an hour to get the trucks. The location seemed completely lost. Then I called uhaul and got transferred 4 times. Trucks were dirty inside cab, smelled like smoke and one of them had a bunch of ice on floor in back. I give uhaul 0 out of 10. I was paying helpers for the hour I wasted picking up trucks, then also lost time scraping g ice off of floor. If I move again probably going g with penske.

Dan BTrain the people how to use the software or fix the software. I signed up on line gave all the info and prepaid so it would be a quick easy pickup. I was there 45 minutes trying to pick up a trailer. 15 minutes on hold waiting for a customer service representative. And another 25 minutes of text chat and phone call with an actual rep.

CARL VThe steering on the truck was very loose and I had to be constantly moving the steering wheel drastically to keep the truck going in a straight line.
Daniel BThey told me I had to have three contact numbers after providing them with both my phone number as well as my Wife's phone number. UHaul Central Traffic said that they should be able to override that but they claimed they couldn't. To top it off, I got locked out of my credit card due to fraud immediately after dealing with the New London UHaul agent forcing me to spend hours dealing with my banks fraud division.
