Utilized the online reservation system to plan a rental of a 10' truck. The uhaul staff phones me the friday before my Monday rental and advised that there would not be a 10' truck available, however a 9' van was available so the van was reserved in place of the truck. The pick up and drop offer were easy, the van was clean and was excellent to drive. The 10' truck would have been handy, but all-in-all it was a substitution we could work with.

DONALD MThe Newmarket U-Haul is a very convienent location and the staff is great. Renting was very effiecient. 10ft Box Truck TM2366L had 134,500 miles on it. As expected it rode very rough empty. Better when loaded. Got 13.5 mile/gallon. Passenger side door needs weather gasket adjusted. The wind noise on that door was like the window was partionally opened.

Scott SGave us a truck with a dead battery. Go it to the house on day 1, got it fully loaded and ready for a 12hr drive then the truck wouldn’t turn on. Couldn’t even get it jumped. Had to call roadside and told them “it will not jump. The battery needs to be replaced”. The roadside tech took 2hrs to get there only to tell me “I was told it just needed a jump”. So there we are the night before a very long drive with a dead battery waiting on freezing rain for the tech to come back with a battery. I don’t think he had planned to but I demanded it needed to be done because we weren’t willing to risk breaking down on a 12hr drive. CHECK TOUR BATTERIES BEFORE RENTING TRUCKS TO PEOPLE. THIS IS BASIC MAINTENANCE!

JOHN MClarify location - Was confused about where to be until I was approved and given key location. It would've been nice to know where to go prior to this so I could've parked there. AI is terrible. It had trouble reading my face multiple times even without glasses or hat etc. The pictures at the end were very hard to get because of the location. I was backed up as far as possible for the picture of the back, and it almost didn't accept my picture. I couldn't have taken any steps further back or I'd have fallen down the hill. Will likely never be using this service again.
Olivia PStop asking 5 pages of upselling at checkout. It’s so annoying. Even if it was one or two pages with all the sane questions but to take that long and that many clicks to actually move on with my day is annoying. That said the Newmarket location is awesome and the van I had was awesome.

Steve cThe truck was advertised as a 15 foot. The actual bed of truck was 12 feet. Then there was a dolly and blankets attached to the inside of that 12 feet. If we moved them to use the 12 feet of the advertised “15 feet”, we had to pay to “use” them of which we did not need them. The location and people were great, U-Haul was a big disappointment! We will use a different company next time

On the truck the parking break light was lit even though the break wasn't on. The moving pads and and hand truck were in the way and I didn't use them

However, at the register is +.89 per mile (did 32 miles), +fill up , + taxes. Amount finally paid was around $64. I wouldn't mind a few dollars on top but triple the advertising price leaves a bitter taste when you pay...

robert bMy truck did not have a USB port or anything else for me to plug in my phone. Considering I was doing an after hours pickup & dropoff necessitating the use of my phone, and had a 2.5 hour drive each way, that's a lot to ask. I think I was at 3% when I was dropping off and that's only because I knew enough of the drive that I could turn off the GPS for certain stretches. I also didn't like the fact that I was given only half a tank and had to return it with half a tank. I had a long way to go into the wilderness without many gas stations there, so had to fill it before leaving and then try to fill it back to half without knowing how big the tank is. Having it returned full would be so much easier and smoother.

Stephen AThe only issue was that they expect the key to be returned to the lock box, but the return instructions don't include that number. After working all day I had only a vague idea of the code, so I handed it in at the office instead.
