We arrived at Nico's about 45 minutes after speaking with the owner and having him check us in over the phone. The only person who was there to greet us was a guy working on a car in the service bay. He said I could go into the office to get the keys from the owner, but after removing some rope to open the front door (sketch), there was not anyone inside. I went back outside and the mechanic called the owner and told him I was ready to pick up the truck. Owner instructed him where the keys were inside the office. We then went back outside and located the truck. It was covered with bird shit and the check engine light was on when I started it. Once I left Nico's with the truck, I had no issues and it ran fine on the 1-way trip from Rock Island to Des Moines. Got it checked back in the following day at the UHaul in Waukee. Great service when I checked the truck back in. Very efficient process and well maintained facility in Waukee. Would highly recommend the Waukee, Iowa location. Great inventory of trucks and trailers and very nice people!MICHAEL R.

Hire people who know what they're doing and how to put on a trailer, the guy asked me if I knew how to do it and said he didn't. Then he ended up putting it on but I will never rent from here again!Ashley D.

I booked 26 foot truck and it was not available and it was not mentioned till I went there to pick up, so had rent 20 ft and do multiple trips to get stuff moved. The person running the place was very rude, when I asked you could have cancelled or called me to tell that you dont have 26 ft truck I would have picked else where , he was like I dont have time to call people. This location was not convenient. The guy had us drive around the block, drop off the trailer on the side walk. He said he had no need for any paperwork. I returned the trailer in 2 days, of the 4 day rental. Now I am being charged 300.00 dollars says for over due return. Called the location twice, said he would get back to me but so far has not. Also called the 800 number and still waiting for a return call.Brian R.

The abs light came on 15 mins within the drive, the truck wasn't clean when I got there to pick it up and it seems like there's a problem with the wheel alignment. Also, the truck was on E when it was supposed to be full I spent over a hundred some dollars for gas and returned it half past full. I want my money back.JOE R.
Trailer lights did not operate and they did not assist us correcting the issue. Our trip was delayed since you had to send a service tech out to correct wiring on the trailer We had ordered furniture pads and they were not available. Nico's Tire is an extremely poor representation for U-Haul. I rented a trailer the Only item for u-haul Nico's had on a Friday. I originally called a different location, they didn't have the particular trailer I needed but I was scheduled to go to Nico's for pick-up. When I did the supposed "Owner" of the shop was rude and obnoxious! There were a few corrections in the contract and he became very angry, yelling, cursing, because he had to correct them and it would take him an extra 10-15 mins. Yet I stayed calm. I asked him 1 question and he screamed at me that he was going to cancel the contract. Only because I needed the trailer I said nothing, hooked up the trailer, left, reported him to u-haul on the following Monday. U-haul said they would get back with me in 3 to 4 days to see what they are going to do about the situation(whether it has happened before,etc..). This is now the 4th day, I have had heard nothing as of yet. Satisfied with equipment but very dissatisfied with Nico's-Chosen Representative of U-haul and if I do not hear back from U-haul Customer Service I see why they representatives like Nico's!!!Julie C.

I have submitted a concern regarding the pickup location of Nicco's Tires which I am awaiting a response from Uhaul. Suffice it to say 0 out of 5 stars for "Nicco's Tires and Dog Poop"! The truck was not inspected properly, tires whore down and wipers as well, we had bad weather most of our trip and we where so afraid we where not going to make it because of all the sliding of the truck. Considering the fact that we where traveling across the state and not just around the corner would have been great. Also showing up late and not being able to respond to many questions.... enough gas for us to get to a gas station not long after leaving due to the fact that we kept getting stuck in the snow and having so much trouble with the tires... so disappointed with this rental this time. Also the team kept calling to change our reservations and end up overbooking. We had to call a towing company twice just to push us off the snow, I called the customer service line and nobody ever answer... I would like to get a refund on this as well.ALEXANDRA W.

I would recommend dropping this location - I attempted to drop off during normal business hours. This location was in a totally unacceptable area to rent u-hauls. The owner never showed up to return the trailer - the only positive was dealing with your representative Amy Areans - she was a big help. But the location -c'mon - Uhaul can do a better job picking and screening locations. .Steven S.

I will never use this location again. I showed up and the location was not open which made me late for my appointment that I was using the UHAUL for. The truck wasn't full of gas which is the second time that happened. The kicker for me is they charged me an amount on one day and the remaining amount wasn't charged until almost 3 weeks later. I was planning on utilizing this location at least once a month but now I will use a totally different service. Totally disappointed!!!Dwayne H.

Horrible. Location in an old house. No amble parking. Had to wait an hour for someone to show up to accept the trailer. When the rental was turned it was not entered into the system. Not a great location. Would not recommend this location to anyone.Todd S.

First i was given a truck that had a crack in the windshield and was absolutely filthy. Drove it around block and felt unsafe driving it so i took it back was given another one that was only a little bit cleaner. But i took it. I noticed that the second truck cost more and lady said she would fix it. She didn't. When i brought it back early they said i drove it over a hundred miles when in actuality i drove less than 20 miles. And i was charged for all of it. I have never had a problem with Uhaul before, so this really came out of left field for me. I hope we can resolve this issue.Emily M.

He had another customer come out to hook the trailer to my truck. We were flagged down by other drivers on the highway that our ramps were dragging. The pin to lock it in place was missing. We had to stay at a hotel overnight to wait for a store to open so we could purchase tethered straps to hold the ramp in place. This caused us to have an extra $175 in travel costs. I am very unhappy with the safety of this equipment and the location for pick up. It was dirty and in a very bad neighborhood. They had two dogs chained up outside the building at a used tire shop. It was a horrible experience. I would like to be reimbursed for my hotel stay as well as the cost of the straps we had to purchase. 1-309-269-3059. I can be reached at any timeChristine J.

Over all the truck worked okay but it was dirty, and the place that I had to deal with the people weren't very friendly there. They made me feel like I was kind of putting them out asking for helpmark W.
Equipment was not available at scheduled 9:00 am time on Sunday due to a quick rental on Saturday and the truck wasn't returned until 10:30 am! Employee did a fast sweep of truck & forgot to put in moving blankets, so owner had to follow thru w-employee. Cab smelled of heavy smoke & I had to drive with the windows down (It is really hard to breathe for people with sinus/asthma issues - U-haul should be paying me to sit & drive for 3 hours in an unhealthy environment)! The 3/8 marked for the fuel tank was actually at just above the 1/4 mark, so I filled it back to that level. The final billing reflects a charge for fuel. Owner was apologetic for the delay of truck & in the poor condition the truck was returned. No problems with truck driving home.Tracy W.
