The truck was not in good working order but due to the availability of trucks I had no options but to accept the one offered. The back of truck was dirty, the moving blankets had weird chemical odours. The windshield wiper on the drivers side was broken and had to be replaced mid trip.

Claude CVendor did not understand that a 1 day rental is for 24hrs not 1 business day and tried to charge me a second day for delivering the trailer 23 hours later. Had to call u-haul and have a representative explain this to the vendor. Additionally while attempting to pick up the trailer vendor took a phone call and booked someone into his motel while I was standing there waiting. Overall the process to pick up a trailer took me almost an hour. Very unprofessional and clearly unaware of how uhaul operates
WILLIAM FAt this location, upon picking up the uhaul and trailor, the truck and trailer were both covered in snow. The driveway was plowed but not the snow around the equipment. An hour was spent trying to get the equipment uncovered and out. The uhaul needed to be towed out. This was mileage and gas wasted before the vehicle was even in my possession. While an employee did come out to help, they needed to be asked and didn't seem to eager. Later another person came out of their garage to help dig out the trailor and tow the uhaul. Keeping in mind this was a -27 morning and nothing was ready for me. This not only delayed my plan for the day and took a physical toll on the body in harsh weather, it also was an hour of the vehicle running, reving, and trying to get unstuck. The equipment should have been ready and I don't feel I should have to pay for the hour spent of mileage and wasted gas at the very least.

DARYN HThe problem is now you cannot get a U-Haul vehicle without buying the insurance even if you have insurance on your credit card that protects you against rental you cannot seem to be able to take that off the U-Haul so they get you for insurance, whether you want to buy it or not so that’s just another cost that has been added onto the price of writing at U-Haul.
Wyatt NThe customer service at this location was very good however, I’m not sure who is responsible for the maintenance and inspection of rental units. I was lucky they had 5 auto haulers on site as I did not find one that was to my satisfaction until the fourth unit. First one had a missing ramp, second one’s gears to elevate the trailer appeared to be stripped and the third ratcheting strap mechanisms seemed to be seized. Thank god the fourth one did the trick and I didn’t check the fifth one but perhaps someone should. Customer service was also very good at point of destination.
RICHARD DI order a truck online at my location. 2 days prior to move, I received a call saying that the closest truck was 5 hours drive away. They told me that there were a 26 ft. truck at my location but I needed a special driver class. I manage to find someone who could drive the truck, and the day of pick up, I received a call from uhaul saying the truck needs to come back to the location which wasn’t what I ordered. I finally had to drive 5 hours to pick up the truck in another province and lost a day packing up my stuff to get to a place where the clerk couldn’t even speak proper English so I could understand. For all the stress caused, I will NEVER recommend this company.

Dan SMake sure that the pick up location is in the same town. Worst U-Haul experience ever. Complete messed up my traveling plans as I had to waste almost 3 hrs just to pick up the truck. To top it off, I was notified 1 day prior to original pick up after having booked the truck a month early. Extremely disappointed in this service. Definitely will go with competitors next time.
Joshua Konly had big trucks i needed to tow a car. she said she you not charge me for the car transport then next day i asked she said she never said that. couldn’t even bother to get out of her chair and go look at the mileage on the truck. i have filled a complaint with u haul.

Trevor BWe left with a trailer with non functioning brake lights and were told they were functional. A mechanic checked the lights when I was not able to get them to work after cleaning all the connections. He said the problem was in the trailer. In addition once the rear door was open it would not close since the cable was wound into the spring. It took considerable effort to unwind it to enable the door to close. Overall a taxing experience that I would not care to repeat. We used the energency flashers as brake lights and were very uncomfortable doing so fir iur 10 hours drive.

SPIRIT POrdered a trailer on line for 2 days to move my ford f150 from Timmins to Sudbury, the trailer was too small, was not safe to use. I returned the trailer to the original pick up location in Cochrane, the lady agent gave the number to call, no answer to address a refund of the trailer.

KEITHE BDO NOT RENT FROM THEM! I was charged 950$ more then I should've been! I've called UHAUL 3 times and they can never open my contract to refund me! I paid my original contract and they made a mistake and then charged me double because they didn't include a 150$ car carrier in my original. They never refunded me the original amount and still can't explain the second amount charged! never got a receipt or new contract! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! It would be more convenient to strap a fridge to your back and walk 500 KMs on legos then trust them with your credit card information

En plus du service pourri de U-Haul, j’ai dû parcourir 700 km pour avoir un camion, perdu deux , payer deux motels, pourtant j’avais une réservation de fait une semaine à l’avance.

SANDRA GUnit was still connected to a truck. They were not sure how to connect safety chains. We did not have the proper electrical hook up.
Donald PAfter being tossed around by Uhaul ( I had to drive 4 hours to get a truck I reserved 1 and a half month ahead of time in my home town) I was at least happy to get a perfect welcome by the staff in Cochrane. Thumbs down to the company but thumbs up to the North Adventure Inn.

SHAWN RTerrible place in terms of service. We arrived and were informed that no debit was accepted, only credit or cash. We then also learned of a down deposit, which we were unaware of, so we had to travel back to town for the exact amount needed. Staff was not friendly.

Paul CCouple things happened. First, there was no one on site to help hook up the 6x12 trailer. The tongue of the trailer is very heavy. Very difficult for one person to do, after a struggle I got it on, to remove it , I had to unclip the hitch and wiggle it out so it fell, so I could get my ball hitch back. Second, 2 of the tires had low pressure. Could not notice this until the trailer was loaded and they looked flat. One tire had 8psi, the other had 19.5psi. The other 2 were 55psi. So had to go and get a compressor and fill them. All in all it was a bad experience.
Glenn OUnfortunately, the people at this location had NO idea what they were doing, the truck was fine, ( except for the cost to drive it ) . In my opinion, it would be a good idea to find a different location in the Cochrane area to rent vehicles from you. The location was absolutely disgusting…….and that’s being modest.

Marc DIt was the worst U-Haul place I have ever rented from I would never go back and I would never recommend stuff was covered in snow so bad you could not see car transporter nothing was ready I went back two hours after I got my truck just to find out it was broken I had to take a 11 hour bus ride to get home the brakes where not working on the truck was worst experience in my life

Glenn OGot my paperwork done at 10:20am and The truck was not cleaned off of snow. There was over two feet of snow on a 26’ truck. It took over an hour to get the truck out of its spot, warmed up and snow removed. I had to personally go on the truck myself to clean off to ensure safety of others or not to get stopped by the MTO. We did not leave from the site until almost 12pm. Then told I can return at 12 for return then got billed for an extra day as it wasn’t returned at the same time of the paperwork!!

Angele MUhaul should not allow Northern Adventure Inn to rent their trucks. The place is filthy, the person barely speaks English and is extremely slow on computer. The truck was in a field and had a huge hole in the floor.

verma sUHaul has no jacks on their trailers!! We showed up, and had to physically lift the trailer to get it onto the hitch, I recommend updating your equipment so everyone can easily attach it to their truck

Denis BThe problem that I had with the drop off is I live in Timmons Ontario and had to drive two hours and 15 minutes to drop off the trailer which cost me about $100 in fuel so therefore because you have no drop off location in Timmons Ontario it was a very expensive rental

Bryan PThe cab of the truck I rented had a terribly foul smell when I inspected it. There was what seemed to be animal hair inside I asked the agent to have the cab cleaned for me as there was no wat I could drive it without feeling I’ll and vomiting I picked it up the next day and it seemed to have been cleaned but the smell was still there I strongly recommend they inspect the vehicles before they allow others to rent I’d appreciate a rebate on my rental costs

WILL VThe whole experience was terrible. I reserved my 15 foot truck 2.5 months ahead of our moving date to be told a few days before that there was none available and had to drive an extra 200kms (100kms there and back). I was told I was getting a "free" upgrade and 170 free kms as I was getting a 20 foot truck. I'm actuality, I was getting charged more to include 170 kms and no one took into consideration that I was driving an additional 100 kms and would be using more gas. Furthermore, I was able to make arrangements with my brother in law to go pick up the truck to save me time on a already stressful and busy day only to have him waste 1.5 hrs at the rental office dealing with someone who clearly did not what he was doing. This was a terrible experience on a stressful day and would not recommend U-Haul's service to anyone.
Gregory Oit took 30 min in the office to get my paper work and after that I was told, "trailer is out there". We have to back up to trailer in the field and hook it up with no help. Very dirty place.

WYATT SThis was the absolute worst moving experience of my life. The company didn't have the driveway shoveled.we got stuck, they refused to call a tow truck. Connected a ratchet strap to my car and a uhaul. The strap broke and smashed my windshield. They wont do anything about that,did not provide the dolly we were supposed to have so we had to carry washers and a dryer, fridge and a stove all my hand. Then I was told I had a free e tra 24 hours with the truck for my troubles, I just got my receipt and they charged for the day and a van that I never rented! The worst. Do not use uhaul in Cochrane ontario!!!
