Very well run facility. Super clean and staff always extremely efficient. 24 hour access was very convenient. One thing that could be improved are the carts that are provided which I found extremely difficult to steer.Patricia M. | Overall Experience
The staff did not give clear information on charges and insurance cost. I told her what UHal staff had told me by email that I would be charged but she went ahead and put a charge of over a $100 on my credit card. She was in a hurry to leave so I let it be hoping that UHal would sort it out. Now it took texts and emails to sort this out. She had an attitude like she was not invested in the business.NGOZI I.

1. Truck fluid levels were low, so I had to top up before leaving Whitehorse. 2. The dolly I rented wasn't put in the truck, necessitating me driving back to have it put in. The Uhaul man, didn't put it in correctly & nor did he close the box pull door & secure it. I had to do that & I'm a disabled senior! As I was driving to my apt after leaving the dealership, I had to come to a stop & the dolly rolled into the back of the cab/box hard & scared me so badly. I almost hit someone! 3. The unit was dirty. Candy wrappers under the seats & a pile of potato chips strewn along the back passenger area. When I checked in here in Creston, I didn't mention these things as I was in a rush. My apologies for not addressing these concerns to the lady at this end.Jacqui M.

Provide more instruction into how to use the vehicle. I also don't think the truck was sanitized in anyway. The front desk person also didn't listen to what I was using the vehicle for in terms of mile-age and underestimated my mileage by hundreds of kms. I also registered ahead of time providing all necessary information and yet I still had to re-register again at time of pickup? The trucks are horribly outdated with no aux capabilities. I will never be using uhaul again if I can avoid it.Carla B.

The location staff was friendly and helpful. It's an easy location to access for pickup and drop off of equipment. The truck itself was in rough shape - cracked windshield, torn seats, but it did the job we needed in town.Ernest P.

The customer service here was abysmal. We were there three hours to pick up an autotransport that was present at the time. The employee kept saying â€œthis credit card is not goodâ€ as we tried three of our credit cards to no avail. Finally she found out the system was having an error and wasn't accepting any credit cards and that ours were, in fact, good credit cards. We ended up having to get cash to pay. While the system outage was not her fault, the manner in which she handled it was pretty bad. When we finally went outside to get the autotransport it was covered in several feet of snow. We had been there 1.5 hours at that point and no one had cleaned it off. The employee had to get two contractors working in the mini storage to clean snow off it and help us get it on the hitch. She used this as an opportunity for a smoke break. Neither of us had used one of these before so we were relying on her to instruct us. As we were loading the car it slid off the load ramp and ended up with both front wheels in the air, resting on the undercarriage! She had to get the carpenters back. They levered it up, breaking the front bumper, and we used a personal jack to lift one side before we could pull the trailer away. Then the contract carpenters removed all of the ice and grit from the autotransport, brought out wood to place on the loading ramps, and helped get the car onto the trailer. They pretty much did everything and the employee did almost nothing. We had to use a personal strap for the back of the car because the chain was missing a piece. It might be that the employee needs more training, though she said she has been there three years. In short, do not rent here. My car is permanently damaged as a result of this experience. In the end we did get the car loaded and did make our long drive without further incident, but in totally we had an extremely stressful three hours at this location.Kira P.

Although I had no problems with the trailer I rented, there were some concerns and/or undesirable things about the U-haul company in general that I must explain. First, we had to load it from the ground by hand as there is no jack for any of the trailers. This was concerning for me because I was traveling along the Alaska Highway through the Yukon to BC and there is little to no cell service most of the way ( about 8 hrs worth of driving). If for any reason I had a problem with the trailer and needed to disconnect to drive to find cell service. I would have then had to unload the entire trailer along the side of the highway and somehow manage to lift the trailer off the hitch all by myself. -Very not cool and Very unsafe- Oh and did I mention that it didn't even come with a spare tire. Second, I only needed the trailer for three days yet had to pay the full rate of four days...why? Not sure other than that's what I was told because it had to be so many days. -This is absolutely stupid- Third, this American based company that operates in Canada only recognizes its own military members in way of any discount and not the CAF. - this is very sad-Katherine M.

I made a reservation for a 20' truck, but the previous renter ran behind schedule and I could get the product I needed. I settled for a 6x12 trailer and called ahead for the ball & pin additional rental, they told me it was available. When I arrived we got stuck waiting around waiting for a pin and had to be picked up from the local canadian tire. After all the trouble I had gone threw with this rental, I thought the staff would be courteous and give me a discount of some sort or a credit for future business, but was sadly disappointed. I've used U-haul before and had no problems previous.carolyn K.

I received a Uhaul that was dirty on the outside, so I returned it dirty on the out side. But clean inside. The trailer has a large sticker that says there is a $15 service fee for returning a dirty trailer. Well the location said they were going to charge $50 and I had to wash the previous renters dirt off. Get your shit together uhaul.Arthur C.

For the miles that the U-haul had on it, it drove fairly well. Decent on gas for a large vehicle and didn't have any problems during the trip. If possible it would be nice for the u-haul to be cleaned out better, ours was full of dirt/dust. But over all we have no complaints has we know what the Yukon roads are like.Kevin W.

Nice facility. Very small inventory of trucks so may not always have what you need. The employee that was on duty when I picked the vehicle up did not do a walk around with me and so when I brought it back there was a scratch on the side that a different employee thought was mine. U-Haul uses stickers to mark damage and they had fallen off, but luckily the residue was still there so you could see they were there prior to my rental. Make sure you do a walk around with the employee and if there is damage that stickers are on the truck to mark it!Justin W.
my only comment is that i rented rented a 1/2 ton pickup truck and a car hauler. when i picked up the to uhauls i was unable to move the trailer since a ball hitch was not included in the rental. now this was a package that was offered by uhaul, so why did i have to go by a ball hitch for the truck to fit the trailer. also i had to find this out after i rented it. if uhaul is renting this combo as a package then the truck should come with a ball hitch for the trailer. also the person renting me the trialer could not tell me the size of ball i need to go buy at a different locations. this set my moving time back making the rest of my move rushed and not enjoyable.Stefan H.

To rent a vehicle in the Yukon in the winter that is not equipped with winter tires is a very dangerous practice. Also renting the vehicle with less than a full tank of fuel leads to confusion and frustration. I will not rent here again if the fuel tank is not full.DAVID A.

I'm a regular customer that rents U-Hauls from at North Star Mini Storage and for the most part the service is great. However, when I got the U-Haul this time the vehicle was dirty and the passenger seat had dog hair all over the seat. There was also garage inside the U-Haul. The vehicle should be cleaned out before a customer returns the van.JOSH D.
Teach representative how to properly attach the hitch (chains included). She did not attach the emergency brake chain. She also did not attach the other chains properly ( we had a mechanic friend take a second look at it). She added too many days and would not decrease to the number we wanted stating we could get a refund (which we have been told we cannot) so we paid for 2 days we did not need or want over what we asked for. She also changed the name the rental was for. I made the purchase but my partners name was on the bill (he was listed as driver) this made it hard to talk to phone representative to find my order as I was not able to find it online.DUNCAN J.

Gas tank was not "full" but rather at 3/8 and therefore I had to return it at 3/8...I even pointed out how odd it was when I was told when I picked up the truck. I returned the truck at 3/8 like I was suppose to and was charged an extra $120 for the gas!!! I called immediately of course and pointed out that I had done what was on my contract. They said they would verify again and call me back. When they called back they did not apologized but simply said that indeed I was correct and that they would refund my visa. I would STRONGLY recommend that a full tank is handed over to clients so that this kind of unfortunate situation doesn't happen again!Manon L.
