Quick and painless pickup and drop off!

I picked the U-Haul up after hours, in the dark, so taking pictures was not ideal when the U-Haul was parked in between two others with a foot of room. There was something blue that was on the floorboard of the drivers side (unable to see in the dark at pick up), and I immediately drove to my location to load the U-Haul, again with hardly any light as it was 7pm, and the blue stuff was tracked all over because of it becoming wet from my shoes from the snow and transferred all over the flooring, and got all over my belongings without evening noticing until the following morning in the day light. I had not planed on using the moving blankets because I had totes and packages, but after the blue dye or whatever it was, got all over EVERYTHING, I had no choice. There was also the same blue product on the back door corner, which also spread because of snow/getting wet and transferred to my personal belongings and there is no way of getting it off. Lessoned learned of getting a U-Haul after hours on my part, but clearly someone did not inspect that truck prior to me picking it up because it was very observant in the daylight. And when I checked the U-Haul back it, I selected it needed to be cleaned for the “next family to use” because of that reason only, and I was charged for a cleaning fee and the use of the blankets when I had no intention of using, and should not have been charged the cleaning fee without being able to explain the circumstances on the online return system. The truck was mechanically in great condition and overall in good condition, but the blue dye or whatever it was, transferred all over the place including on my belongings which was a huge disappointment.

I have no complaints related to Nuchs in the corner. Their service was just fine! This review rating has nothing to do with Nuchs in the Corner as the problem lies directly with UHaul's service and more importantly the way the operate their business. My reservation was made almost 3 months in advance and was confirmed. The day before my scheduled pickup, I received an email stating my reservation has been updated. I was advised that my pickup location was changed from a location 3 miles away, to now 60+miles away. I now had two extra hours wasted in my schedule and 120 mi added to my personal vehicle along with the cost of gas. I was able to determine why my reservations was updated. It was disclosed that my original pickup location did not allow one way truck rentals. It is without question that the technology exists that the Uhaul website should have had this information and prevented the pickup location from even being an option to select, let alone allow the reservation to proceed and ultimately be confirmed. I was instructed to call the local scheduler and inquire if there were any other options closer. It was very clear when speaking with the uhaul representative that they are very familiar with this change of reservation and how it "conveniently" doesn't change or update until the day before the scheduled pickup. The customer service rep knew exactly what to say and was very specific in their responses. The representative knows very well that most customers have no other options at that point, especially in rural areas, and are at the mercy of the Uhaul representative. Regardless of comping the extra mileages for the truck, I was not compensated for my time or personal vehicle expenses for the 2hrs of schedule and 120 miles of personal vehicle fuel. This is very poor service and I caution all future customers to call the pickup location well in advance of your pickup date and make sure that if you are renting a one-way rental, that the pickup location provides that type of rental. If you assume that the Uhaul website is correct, you maybe seriously scammed by the way the Uhaul system is set to operate. If there are other rental options in your area, I would recommend inquiring about confirming rental details so that a extremely disappointing rental experience like mine, doesn't happen to you.

All I needed was a 6'x12' open trailer, but there aren't any in our area. Only 6'x12' enclosed trailers which don't have tie down anchors. So I had to rent a 16' toy hauler trailer which was way overkill for what I needed and cost $60 more. Please provide some 6'x12' open trailers at our location.

I reserved a car trailer in Bemidji Mn, but the day before pickup I got a call from U-Haul saying that they didn’t have a trailer in Bemidji and that I would have to drive to Grand Rapids Mn to get one. So after waisting 3 hours driving there and back I drove by the Bemidji location and they had a trailer sitting on the lot! I was absolutely pissed! That’s the worst customer service I’ve ever had with U-Haul, I will never use the Bemidji dealer again.

Drivers side brake and signal inoperative. Vehicle break and signal worked properly, and when hooked up to a private trailer the brake light and signal worked.
