Why would your website allow one to reserve boxes for purchase and a furniture dolly for rent when these things are not available at this location which is a country store? I had to scramble to get boxes and do a lot more heavy listing than intended to on move day.

Sharon WMaybe you could reduce the number of emails generated once the rental is underway. I think I got 8 and I needed 2 - one to verify it started, and one to verify the final invoice.

D SI would recommend the location because Robin was the best and sweet. U-Haul itself need a better way of doing things. The holds on debit cards but not on credit cards and it’s no disclaimers on the website. Call the Rep and he wasn’t so helpful. Why make a reservation have a card on file and then go to pick up something totally different. It’s insane. I don’t recommend U-Haul and I wouldn’t use them again either.
Latia CIssue with truck be available for rent due to accident previous day. Finally able to sort out issue and receive truck with requested equipment. Truck was not cleaned out.

Scott FThe person who we picked up the vehicle from was friendly and quick, however, the all four tires on the vehicle had low pressure and due to the 80lbs inflation requirement the local service station air pumps could not inflate the tires to the required pressure. Upon returning the vehicle, there was a different person at the desk and they were very unhelpful directing me to “use the app”. I had not and will not install another single use app on my already overcrowded phone, but tried to use the link that U-Haul had texted to me. The link to the web checkin failed due to issues on U-Haul servers and poor signal at the return location. When I received my final receipt, there were two fuel related charges totaling $65. This was because someone had indicated I returned the vehicle with 1/9 of a tank when it had 5/9 of a tank at check out. Fortunately I had taken a photo of the gas gauge showing the vehicle had 2/3 (6/9) of a tank at turn in. The fraud perpetrated by the person at turn in is unacceptable, and made worse by their initial unhelpful manner. This has left me with a very bad impression of both U-Haul and this particular vendor.

Peggy BThey didn't have my truck and the other truck they had they couldn't find the keys for. I was kept waiting for over an hour while they figured something out. In the end they didn't help, caused me to lose a total of 3 hours moving time, I lost money with my movers having to sit around for 3 hours doing nothing while the truck situation was handled and I had to drive an extra 40 minuets further away to finally be able to get in a truck.
Cynthia MUhaul broke down and it was an extreme inconvenience. I had to rehire movers for an additional day. I also had to find a ride back to the U-Haul site in order to pick up another truck.
YVETTEANN TPosted hours at uhaul were completely different than the reservation leading to lengthy and unnecessary complications far from home. This was after coming from a separate uhaul site where they didn't even have the reservation. I know now not to ever use Uhaul under any circumstances.
John SWhen I attempted to drop off the trailer in Orange, VA, I was informed they were no longer in business and I would have to drop it off somewhere else. I had to drive to another town to drop it off.
Lawrence SDon’t choose a bigger uhaul then the customer wants & don’t need. Give the customer a receipt to have & also shouldn’t include insurance on the order if customer don’t ask for it. Also shouldn’t charge for miles & tell the customer one price on the mileage & when the customer sees the receipt online it’s a different price & everyone in the store should be trained to know how to do the uhaul. Very unhappy customer & won’t rent again at this location & won’t refer anyone.

No major things for improvement, but maybe send confirmation (day before rental pickup) to customer that rented vehicle is actually ready for pickup. Also, make sure that staff walks with customer to conduct existing damage/condition of vehicle.

Elizabeth B1. Dealer MUST HAVE SOMEONE ONSITE to complete contracts, assist hitching, etc with customers. 2. DO NOT ADD CHARGES WITHOUT CONSENT. This is FRAUD!! 3. Dealer MUST NOT PARK HIS DEAD CAR IN FRONT OF EQUIPMENT so that it cannot be hitched and towed away. Requiring a customer to MANUALLY push a trailer through an adjacent property to get it hitched is UNACCEPTABLE. 4. The app (android) would not let me complete the reservation - it would not accept legitimate inputs. Unfortunately I don't remember at what point it failed. I was able to complete the reservation online using the website. But then the dealer tacked on the insurance.

James RPlease don't falsely advertise your product i rented a 19.99 a day small cargo truck i even returned it back 20 hours early on a 2 day rental and it cost $144.00 thats just ridiculous. If its $60.00 per day just say that I would have still paid it, and I wouldn't be this upset about my experience

Tami SI believe I got charged way too much for fuel. And I also don’t believe the fuel went from 3/8 to 1/4 from Charlottesville to Gordonsville. That small amount shouldn’t have costed me $20.90.

KATHLEENMARIE TIt's not about the pick up location but about the overall Uhaul experience which we would rate MINUS 1000 percent. A most horrific experience. Hours on the phone being told to make changes on the portal or chat when neither is available. Being hung up upon after one hour holding to talk to someone and ten holding again 20 minutes only to be hung up on. When someone does answer their reply is I am in such and such state and not responsible. Our rental pick-up was moved to 1.5 hours away the night before the rental. The day before rental I was told I dont know if we have a truck because we are in short supply of equipment - we received SIX weeks in advance and you dont know if you have a truck the day before? Most horrific experience continued after pick up. Stay away as far as you can from Uhaul
Mark RThe locations were fine and the people there were also accommodating unless they were lying about their roles in the rental process. My problems are with UHaul. I reserved the trailer and locations well in advance and did the early check in which means I had already paid for the thing. I had email confirmations on everything but I had not heard from anyone at the location where I was supposed to pick up the trailer and the email communications suggested that I would. I called the facility about 5 hours before I was supposed to pick the thing up and they had no trailer and no idea who I was. After speaking with them and spending 40 minutes on hold with UHaul service I was told that I would have to drive to another city to pick up the trailer. Same thing happened when I arrived at my destination. When I went to take the trailer back to the reserved location 2 miles away I suddenly found out that I again was supposed to drive to another city to drop off the trailer. They added well over 100 miles of driving to my pickup and drop-off and never even communicated that to me. This has to be the worst service I've ever seen. They let you reserve a spot and take your money but then don't bother provide what they've agreed to or even let you know. If I had shown up at the agreed place at the agreed time I would've probably not been able to make it to the other location to pick up the trailer and my entire moving schedule would've been wrecked. All three location employees I spoke with suggested that this wasn't even out of the ordinary so I guess it happens to a lot of people. It won't happen to me again as I'm not going to rely on UHaul to provide their agreed services again.

Allen JI feel as though this is important to say. I had a truly horrible experience picking up the vehicle. First, even after I confirmed I would pick it up at 8:00AM, the owner wasn’t there. Second, he had an employee of his (this was a Gas Station) call me via a house phone in the store and talk to me through the phone. Third, after I was finally able to complete all of the tasks he needed me to do over the phone which was far more cumbersome than had he been in person, he took my credit card info over the phone! All while my wife waited patiently in the car for this eternal process to finish because he couldn’t keep his mind straight on the topic. To finish and finalize, he offered virtually no advice about the vehicle and just sent me on my way once his employee found the key. Truly a horrible experience and I cannot recommend this location to anyone.
Benjamin YCouldn't be bothered to use safety "rubbers" on the chain which hooks to the vehicle. Couldn't explain any charges.Not interested in explaining charges: "we don't do that, you have to go online. We just have the equipment." Not interested in helping unhitch the trailer. I went to a different Uhaul location for the next rental after this. Wonderful experience there.

Murray FRented a 5' X 8' enclosed trailer to move antique and new furniture. Trailer leaked terribly and all the furniture got wet and was covered in gray, greasy yuck and rusty water!!! Also when I picked it up that morning I told the man that 3 of the 4 side marker lights didn't work, his comment was, " It's ok, you have back lights. " REALLY?! I will Not be renting from this store again and have made sure my family and friends know not to rent either. UHAUL has gone down hill over time, sad.
