I had a very poor experience with this rental location. The truck was not clean when I picked it up. There was a soda bottle behind the seat and a water bottle in the passenger door. There was also an orange tie-down cord left in the back of the truck from a previous user. While driving to my destination, the truck started making a loud ticking noise, which concerned me. I contacted the pickup location, but the only response I received was to call U-Haul. I had already contacted U-Haul Roadside Assistance, and they told me someone would arrive within 90 minutes, but no one ever showed up. Later, I received a call explaining that the technician’s truck had broken down on the highway and another person would be sent, but they were over an hour away. Because I was moving items to a storage facility that closed at 8 PM, I could not continue waiting and had to proceed with using the truck despite the mechanical issue. After completing my move, I returned the truck and put gas back in it, even slightly more than what was in the truck when I received it. However, I was still charged an additional $20, which I do not understand because I have proof that I refueled the vehicle. Within the last few days (Friday through Tuesday), I have spent around $400 with U-Haul, yet the service I received at this location was extremely disappointing. The truck was not properly cleaned or inspected, roadside assistance never arrived as promised, and customer support from the location was unhelpful. I hope U-Haul will review this situation and address the issues so other customers do not experience the same problems.

SAUNDRA TIt’s a crappy phone repair shop with homeless crackheads hanging out in the parking lot. The store owner tried to rip me off after we drove the truck a total of five miles, and put a gallon of gas back in the tank in direct view of the store location.

He wanted me to wait for 4 hours before I received my trailer. The operator rerouted me to another location and I received my trailer withing 20 minutes I was on the road for my 3 hour trip.

MICHELLE PI was sent to an alternate location to pick up the truck and I was glad I had someone with me. I would not have felt safe there by myself. Bad location. The clerk in the store did not speak English well and it smelled like weed. Also, the truck was only 1/2 full of gas and we had to stop before we even reached Charlotte to get gas. I will say that the actual U-Haul on Main Street in High Point NC that I reserved the truck from was excellent. Clean, well-stocked and staff was helpful and polite.

CARELYS CThe staff was WONDERFUL and should not be besmirched by my less than glowing review. The Greensboro location we originally booked from had a defective trailer and so we had to drive 30 minutes out of our way to get the trailer from High Point. The guy was wonderful. There was an extremely large spider (I have photos) on the outside and there were hundreds if not thousands of ants inside the trailer we had to exterminate (these were small ants so upon quick inspection and trying to stay away from the spider we accepted the trailer) and try to get rid of them before we put our household belongings in them. So, technically the equipment was clean and well maintained. Again, the staff person was very nice and professional.
CYNTHIA BClerk was otherwise occupied and told me where I could unhook the trailer, then left me to do it solo.
