The back of the truck should be swept and free of garbage. There were signs in the back from previous user and leaves. The whole gas situation was ridiculous. When I picked up the uhaul truck it was filled to the middle. In the booking process it said to fill it up to where it was when given to you. I did that and filled it up to exactly where it said on the piece of paper. I parked the truck then went inside and then was told to fill up the truck even more. I then put more gas in and the now the truck was filled past 3/4 full. So I now wasted more money. Also I was charged a distance fee even though originally I booked a truck for st marys then was told that the only truck available slightly bigger was a 15 minute drive away. I got the 20' truck and the 15' rate but then was xjatges $28 for distance fee meanwhile the standard is the per km which everyone knows about. Even though because the truck was further away I has to pay more on top of than I have to pay the distance that's not right. I will not be using uhaul again.

We booked our U-Haul out of Wallaceburg ON from Dave. Dave was thorough with explaining how the U-Haul system works and we were pleasantly surprised how fast he was able to access our information. Once we picked up the truck in Granton ON, everything went downhill from there. We only used the truck from 1000--1815hrs (8 hrs 15 mins, same day) and their time counted was several hours later. We ended up being double charged for the truck and charged excessively for mileage. We returned to Wallaceburg and spoke with Dave and the area field manager who was able to reimburse us. The lady in Granton would not assist us nor did she speak but only a couple words in English to help us understand what needed to be done with the truck. This is very poor business and I would NOT recommend Granton ON to rent a U-Haul. Same goes for Ilderton ON U-Haul, they would not return our calls when they said they would so we went local here in Wallaceburg to book out of town (I was not aware you could book out of town). All I can say is thankfully Dave from Wallaceburg was able to help us book and then receive a refund. I highly recommend Dave to get your business done.

Couldn’t do a full auto checkin. The owner/operator had no clue the truck was booked. Asked me for license despite doing full precheck in. Very weak cell service and no wifi to complete steps/pictures on phone. Blankets were not ready nor in truck. Had to wait far too long versus auto check in. Vehicle parked in tight area so hard to get proper pictures.

I'm not sure how much of this is the fault of U Haul versus the specific location.... I requested a U Haul for 48 hours because I was moving. Everything checked out fine on the website. Apparently, at some point before my pickup date U Haul changed my 48 hour booking to 8 hours. They sent one email prior to pick up that alluded to this, despite everything looking fine on the website. I then had to book two separate U Hauls at two separate pick up locations on back to back days. Once I had the U Hauls, the required drop off times were extremely unclear. One place said "bring back at 5pm but it's probably okay if it's before 7PM." This particular location didn't mention it, so I assumed I had it until 8pm that night like I requested online. Nope, I was charged an additional 60-70$ because it had to be back at 4pm! The entire U Haul customer experience was awful.
