I wanted to rent a car hauler in calgary but was sent 1.5 hrs each way to pick up trailer

Myrna AMake sure all lights are working proper. Handles for straps almost couldn't release to get over wheels to strap down. Hard to release for unstrap.
Richard GThe drop off was 30 minutes away from our new property. It would be nice to see a drop off in Three Hills as there is a college in the town. This extra trip cost us $$$ in mileage to drop off. Not an expense needed for anyone moving and using the truck one way. We only use U-Haul for our moves

Paris PBeing upfront about cost. I was not informed I would be charged $600 to drop truck at closest dealership because they don’t have one in my town. I asked twice about the drop off and was not told anything about the extra charges. My understanding was I paid in full upon pick up. Equipment was not cleaned, there were blankets and boxes from previous customers This was an inconvenience because they were in the way. Truck was not clean. We had to clean and remove all blankets ourselves upon return as requested by dealer in Williams lake. I felt that was not our job since we didn’t put them there or request them. There was Glue on windows which made it hard for visibility Truck lost transmission completely going down a mountain road. We felt unsafe and with undue stress and concern. I would not return as a customer nor would I recommend to anyone.

Stuart BSimple vehicle maintenance is badly lacking! If I owned this truck I would get a tune-up. Without it you will loose this unit. It WILL Fail. Very hard on fuel!! At 1.69/ liter? You would expect a finally tuned truck? To top it off you also want 79 cents a km?? Fix your equipment!! I'm dissatisfied to say the least. It's not the Vendors fault, as they have to follow U haul . SAD,SAD,SAD!!

Christopher PWhilst the location & the staff at that location were awesome & very helpful, the hidden costs of renting this unit were shocking. How on earth you can advertise a vehicle for $39.99 & then ultimately charge $300 is astonishing to me.
Martin LI originally booked the trailer expecting to bring it back to the original location. Then life interfered. I checked my contract/receipt to confirm the terms. It said I could leave the trailer at another authorized location for twice the day rate, which was fine. It would have saved me time and fuel. So I dropped the trailer at the Red Deer Riverside location. But the next day the Torrington store manager calls me demanding I return it to the original location and threatens to charge me up to $500.00 get it back to him. I was frustrated to say the least. I called the uhaul customer service line to confirm whether or not that was true. They could not give me a concise answer. So I stopped half way through a home project, screwed all my plans for the day, and drove this trailer back to original location. If in doubt I read the fine print. The contract was clear. I had the option to pay extra to leave it in another location. Nobody likes being threatened with an outrageous amount of money. It was rude and petty. And calling me an hour before the cutoff, to rush there to get it in time didnt help. I will not be using that service again at that location.
JARED IThe poor guy has limited connectivity on his computer so it's slow to process rental. But he is a friendly and chatty guy that makes the time pass easily.
