I would only recommend the location because it was convenient, but the “gal that normally handles these” was not there. At first they told me to take care of it online, but one of the workers was able to log in and run my CC# then he said “It's all yours here's the contract.” with no further instruction, walk through... When we got home, we realized that the right side latch for the ramp was stuck so we had to load the trailer over the side rails. When I clicked on the link asking for condition of trailer at pick up, it wasn't a valid link.

This was so easy. I booked everything online and went to Platinum Detail that morning of pick-up. The truck was ready and waiting. Staff was very nice and helpful, was out the door in 10 minutes. The cargo van was practically brand new, only about 1800 miles on in. I will recommend this location to anyone looking for a rental.

I don't like that twice in the 5 times I have rented a truck from UHaul the pick up location has been changed. We like to get our rentals from a specific place and the two other places you sent us to were not, in our opinion, convenient. One place didn't even feel safe.

The location didn't have the appliance dolly I had ordered, so I needed to go to a U-Haul store to rent it separately. Platinum Detail was not the original pick-up site I had arranged, but I had no other problems with the location, except it was not as convenient for my move from Park Forest.

While I did rate equipment as clean and well maintained, please have someone fix the one light in the cargo area. It did not work for me. Also, you may want to have someone look at the roof of the cargo area as some of my items got water damage when it rained. The water came in somewhere halfway in the cargo area mostly on the driver side.

A computer glitch or whatever caused the debit card payment terminal to reject my card initially, when the manager swiped it. That in itself is no big deal, but it apparently caused my card to be locked out of attempts to re-swipe. For a long time. Causing lengthy inconvenience. Other than that, all went well.

Truck not ready as promised. Had to call phone number on app. Gentlemen answered who called other person who came back to facility to reopen and give me keys for truck. On top of that I was charged for insurance I didn't request which was later reimbursed.

Your rep on duty when we picked up trailer never got out of his chair. Just handed us our contract and said where to find trailer. Was friendly enough but never offered to help, never checked to see it was hooked up correctly, never checked lights or asked if we needed anything or if we had questions. Just seemed like a lack of customer service although everything went fine.

The first employee I saw made sure that I knew that the store was a car detail business, not a UHaul. When I reminded him that there's a sign directly outside the front door that says otherwise, he decided to get a manager. But he made sure I knew "we don't rent uhaul here, we detail cars. But I'll grab my boss anyway". Maybe the employees should know of these things. Had I not have had a reservation, I definitely would have left.

The u-haul company was closed. The detail shop was open and left the keys with a worker. Once I left I was very nervous because I forgot to get the name of the person I turned my keys into. He worker did not check the mileage or gas. I didn't write any of the information down! Gladly, the truck was turned in and they recorded the gas and mileage that appeared accurate. I was relieved. My suggestion is to have a better return system after hours.. Someone who checks in the truck and records the mileage and gas at the time of return.

I had tried to reserve a dolly, but only found the truck and location didn't have one after getting into the truck to drive it away. Location appeared to be fresh from moving from another office, they weren't really ready to conduct U-Haul rentals. The day I picked the truck up, I received calls from impatient U-Haul reps (not sure where located) asking when I was going to drop it off. They have no personality, they seemed rushed or under pressure, and made it seem more than once that this was the only U-Haul 15 foot vehicle in Northern Illinois. Annoying AF.

My utter & complete dissatisfaction with U-Haul & everyone associated with the company is not associated with the actual pick-up location, but more with the entire process of obtaining a truck. I reserved a truck online 4 weeks prior to the date that I needed & received an online confirmation. The day before, I received a phone message that quoted a pick-up time that was 4 hours after the time that was My utter & complete dissatisfaction with U-Haul & everyone associated with the company is not associated with the actual pick-up location, but more with the entire process of obtaining a truck. I reserved a truck online 4 weeks prior to the date that I needed & received an online confirmation. The day before, I received a phone message that quoted a pick-up time that was 4 hours after the time that was confirmed & 3 hours after the time that I had reserved movers from U-haul's site. I promptly called the number provided in the message & spoke with a rep named Tina. I explained that I could not pick up the truck at 12p as the message had indicated & needed to pick up the truck no later than 8:00am as I had movers coming at 9:00am. She promptly changed the reservation time. Before I got off of the phone with her, I confirmed the location for pick up with her as the U-haul location 5 miles from the house. The next morning, I arrived at the U-haul location confirmed the night before at 7:50am only to find out that the truck was not present at that location. I was told that I needed to drive to a location that was 26 miles from the present location (35 miles from house). I promptly got in the car to drive to that location. While driving to the location, I called the location to confirm that the truck was there & was told that there was no truck there. I then called the U-Haul customer service number & after a long wait, was confirmed that there was no truck present at the location & that the closest truck was in Indiana, 75 miles from the house. The only compensation for the extended drive, gas, mileage, & the fact that I had to cancel the movers & incur a $200 charge was $50 off. As we were 45 miles into the drive to Indiana ($9 in tolls) & after receiving a text message confirming the truck, I received another call from U-Haul stating that the truck in Indiana had been rented & was no longer available & that they would call me back later. At this time, I had already incurred a $200 charge for the initial cancellation of movers & had to pay another $200 to book another set of movers for later in the afternoon. We turned around for the drive back & incurred more money for tolls & another $200 in cancellation for movers. About 45 minutes later, we received a call that there was a truck available about 40 miles from where we were & 55 miles from the house. We turned around to drive to that location. At this time, we also had to cancel the movers that we had planned at our destination (another $200 charge) & book another set of movers

We returned our truck 4 hours early, 20 minutes before the location's listed closing time -- no one was there to check it in. It was not checked in until after noon the following Monday -- AFTER I called UHaul to question the fact that it had not been check in. Never go here.

U-Haul reservation website allowed me to select and pay for a furniture dolly and a dozen moving blankets. When I picked up the key, for the truck the attendant said he had no idea what a furniture dolly was but that he would put an appliance dolly inside the truck and it would be there when I returned to pick up the truck after hours. When I piked up the truck, not only did it not have any dolly at all, it also didn't have the blankets. I will be contacting U-Haul for a refund on the dolly and blanket rental - but i certainly won't use Platinum Detail for U-Haul rentals ever again. Very unprofessional, very un-knowledgeable, very uninterested in meeting my rental needs.

You are kidding me. This was such a mess from the time I was supposed to pu to when I dropped off the truck.1) U haul texted me at 9:43 the night before I was supp to pu the truck and changed location and time. Pu was supp to be 8 am. They changed it to 12 pm.i called the first time and the rep was oh well. The second time I called the rep said pu cld be at 8 am. We had volunteers scheduled to be at my home at 9 am. I was moving out of state.once packed I had a 4 hour drive. My daughter and I were at the new farther location by 7:45 am. No one showed. The sign on the door said they opened at 8 am. We both called the number on the door. The guy called my Dtr and told her that he did not open until 9 am and U Haul does this all the time. We had to tell everyone to be there at10 am. The guy handed me the keys and told me to go get the truck. It had ice on the windshield and was sitting In a snow drift. I had to work to get it out and then drove it around to the guys office and told them to clean off the windshield and the truck needed to be warmed up. The owner had to take a hammer to hack off the ice so that the door to the packing area could. Be opened so he cld put in the Dolly's and blankets. I was freezing and angry. The inside if the truck was filthy. It had a tear in one of the seats and small pieces of food on the dash. I really had n choice but to take it because this out of state move had been planned. The best part is getting here and finding out the name of the drop off place was wrong. There is one drop off in this town. My Mom had checked into it the week before or that would have been another problem. I will not ever use u haul and will not recommend anyone else use it either. When I called the cust serv rep in the am in the sat of the pick up she sounded like she had just rolled out of bed and was talking real low. I know about cust service and you at U haul stink. You made a happy time stressful and inconvient.

The only problem I had was the straps on the car hauler were tied up in knots. The last person to use it must have tied everything up not knowing the straps expand when they are wet and frozen. Took an hour to untie knots in straps. Plus, no one helped me hook up to my truck. Would have been much easier with 2 people.

A bit hard to find this location. This 6X12 enclosed trailer is a bit heavy to lift onto the truck without a jack. They did have someone to help when I picked it up but upon drop off I had to bring a jack to do it myself as it was an after hours drop off. There trailers in this size need to have a built in jack to assist. Trailer was available and well maintained with everything working and proper tire pressure in the tires. The surge brakes were great also.

It's hard to find, the office is tucked inside a light industry zone with no signage visible from the street.

When I picked up the cargo van at to take to my house and load it everything was fine. The next morning after the van was loaded and I pulled out of the driveway to take my son's stuff to school the engine light lit up and then started blinking. I went back to where I rented it and they told me to call the 800 number. They were very helpful and told me it was ok to drive the van (230 miles round trip). The light stayed on and sometimes would blink. When that happened the A/C would stop working and the van engine would buck a little. It would do this all the way down and back to where I rented it, The only reason I drove it down was there were no other vans available and my wife was following in the car. So all I need too do was get it to the school and unloaded it. If it quit working on the way back I would just call in the location and leave it.

I was confirmed to pick up a 10 ft truck at 5:00 pm on August 6, 2014, at the New Lenox location on Cedar Rd. I received an email stating the truck will be available in Frankfort at 12:00, pm. on August 7. This was after hours so I could not contact personnel at either location. I had switched work nights and had help on the evening of the 6th. I called the Frankfort location at 11 am on the 7th, and was told the truck was there on the evening of the 6th. I would of appreciated a telephone message or a correct email that the truck was available on the 6th, the day requested.

Have necessary parts available for pick up or at least know where you can get them. You asked for the type of vehicle that was hauling the trailer and then didn't have any idea how or where to get parts wasting 3 hours of our time.
