Robert RookThis was my first time renting a U-Haul, and it was NOT a pleasant experience. I had the APP downloaded on my phone prior to pickup, and knew what needed to be done before driving off, so I arrived 15 minutes early. As soon as I clicked on "pick up my truck," the app just kept re-freshing to the same page. When I clicked the home button, it told me my location was not enabled, even though it was. Therefore it wouldn't let me proceed any further at this point and I called the pickup location in Painted Post. They were closed and I was told to call the U-Haul hotline for help. I had to do this two times because when it asked for contacts, I didn't realize they would be called ON THE SPOT, and I gave my employer number (just a generic number for the company because it is a very large corporation with over 3,000 employees - didn't know who to have them call). Obviously this number didn't work, but instead of showing me that I needed to input a NEW number for a second contact, the page just refreshed on it's own - making me have to start over AGAIN. After sitting in the parking lot and being on the phone with U-Haul three different times, I finally got my truck keys - only to find out that there was very little gas in it (37 miles to empty). Already frustrated, this sent me over the top. There's not a good way to be able to gage how much gas you will need to put into a vehicle you've never driven in order to bring it back at the same level. This is also frustrating because I was given the truck with 1/8 of a tank of gas, and I gave it back with a 1/4 tank of gas. Lost some money there too. I thought "dropping off the truck should be WAY easier than picking it up, right?" Wrong. The APP was telling me that my location was ONCE AGAIN not working. Not sure why this is even necessary, when I'm TELLING the APP that I'm in THAT LOCATION to pick up/drop off the truck. THANKFULLY there was someone on site during drop off that allowed me to just hand over the key. My headache would have been two fold and I would have probably just left the keys in the truck at that point, due to frustration. All in all - in the future, I will NEVER rent from U-Haul again, and I will NEVER recommend it to anyone that I know. It is 5000 times easier to rent a car!! Never again.

Michael PintoThis was not my drop off location. this is where I picked up the auto transporter. My drop of location was Rocky Mount, NC with the truck and auto transporter. The person at the Painted Post, NY office mixed up the Reversation. He took my Reversation and someone by the name Shelia and switched them. So, when we went to drop off the truck and auto transporter to Rocky Mount, NC they told me I was in the wrong place. It took the U-Haul manager almost two hours to fix this person's mistake. Was not a very happy camper.
dorthy cooperWe were the only ones picking up a truck for a small job Saturday. The computer wasn’t working - we waited 30-45 minutes and he finally got us checked in over the phone. Still couldn’t print out contract. Drove it less than 10 miles and figured we needed to fill it up to return. I’m sure on a normal computer working day it’s an ok place. Saturday wasn’t it.

Dianne WestI chose to return our van using my phone. While the process was easy, as luck would have it, it was pouring rain and I had to take all the return pictures showing the conditions of the return while getting soaked. It would have been sooo nice to have a carport-like place to stop the van and take the pictures (there are about 6 or 7) and only take a quick shot of the van in its parking place. Also, I have not received a final itemized bill. I "think" it was offered in the return process and I know we used less miles than we had estimated thus totaling less than the estimate.

Aubrey DeWertI was charged for a cart that I didn't need, want or use because it was in the way. I requested a 20 foot truck and WA given a 15 foot truck. I also requested a pickup in Bath, NY and was told that the truck would be in Painted Post, NY. This caused about a 60 mile overage since I had to drive 30 extra miles for truck pickup and an extra trip of about 30 miles that I wouldn't have had to do had I received the proper length truck. Fine with location, not happy with the Uhaul experience overall!

John JohnstonThey gave me a call about an hour before my Scheduled pickup time letting me know it was ready and could pick it up sooner (I scheduled the first pickup time) so I was able to get an early start. The truck was very clean and ran great. $20 to refill after towing a car and back and forth shows how well the engine was taken care of. Pickup was quick and her had everything ready so I never had to wait for anything. Not sure what I could have asked for anything to make this any better.

The truck was in bad shape we were shaking so bad, I called the guy we rented it from because we paid extra for the insurance & he said if anything happened we had to call or we get charged another fee so we call him & tell him what's going on he tells us that if we had to get another truck we would have to pay for them to get to where we were at & reload that truck & if we had to get toad we would have to pay for the tow truck. Then he charged us for more miles then what we went. This gentlemen is very old we had to repeat ourselves over and over multiple times. Very disappointed in the service & for what we were charged.
