It was very hard accessing the website for the rental arrangements. I had the app on my phone and it still took me almost an hour to finally get through. It was very clunky! Also, I am very unhappy with the add on fees, Environmental Fee and washing fee. I turned in a very clean and neat truck and what does the other fee really mean? I won't be renting from U-Haul again.

One of the benefits to being a 24 hour self-service location is that you can return the equipment at anytime, even after the business at the location has closed. The combination of u-haul's glitchy, subpar app experience and the location being behind a locked gate means I will never use this service again. U-haul app was fine at pickup, and vehicle was clean and new. No issues with the pickup experience. This was during business hours for Prime Storage so the gate was open. Went to go turn in the rental at approximately 10pm after the business had closed. The return process in the app did not provide the location specific instructions - which included the gate code to get into the business. After taking photos of the odometer, it requested pictures of the outside of the vehicle which was still currently parked outside of the locked area of the business. Contacted u-haul via the chat app which would freeze and stop showing messages so I could not tell if I was receiving messages or not (or if it was from a person or an AI agent). Called the number on the contract paperwork and was greeted with an after hours message. Tried the app again and just pasted into the chatbox that I needed someone to call me. Approximately 10 minutes later someone called me and informed me they were not the correct people and transferred me to another location after waiting on hold for another 10 minutes. Finally got the gate code and was able to get inside the facility. Could not finish return procedure because the app assumed it was returned after the odo picture was taken. Dropped the keys in the drop box only to find I could not exit the facility. If you are by yourself and dropping a vehicle off at a rental facility, the most likely way to get home is via ride share or a friend. The gate for Prime Storage has no keypad inside the gate for people to exit. I am sure they have a vehicle sensor to open the gate if you are in a car, but I had to scoot on my back underneath the gate to exit the facility. This is a huge oversight and made for a unpleasant, unreliable return process. Part of this problem is with u-haul, part is with Prime Storage. Would not recommend renting from here if there is any chance you will be returning the rental in off-hours.

Loretta DUsing the app for mobile checkin was not the easiest. In fact, when trying to return the truck, I could not find the gate code. Since it was a sunday, the location was closed for the day. It took 30 minutes before someone could help by phone to get me the code. Would rent from them again but not sure I'll do the mobile check in.
