The check in process was confusing. The email & app instructions were not well outlined and I had to wait on the phone to receive help to finalize the check in process.Riley F.

Online return was terrible. Online drop off did not work Sunday night. On step 3 photos wouldn't upload - despite uploading in section 2. Wasted 20 minutes on this. Then tried to call uhual where I sat on the line for 35 minutes until a call back option was offered an hour later. When I got the call back the call was disconnected right before being connected to a rep. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. I then had to take time off the following day to go return the keys. This experience has ruined my perceptive of uhual and I will be considering other options during my next trip. I wanted to call to request compensation for my time after this instance but it wasn't worth waiting on the phone for another hour. Completely unacceptable experience.OLIVIA N.

Long distance rental, over 700 miles, requested a newer vehicle but got a truck with over 138,000 miles. Checked in online but agent was unfamiliar with our order when we arrived and went through all checkin again. None of the items we ordered and paid for in advance were available at this location. Had to pick up our furniture pads, dollies, etc at another location if we wanted them in a timely manner. Unprofessional agents. Tossed keys over the counter and said they thought our truck was the 3rd 15-footer on the left. Had to ask for agent to come out for vehicle inspection. Our truck had many dings, scratches, etc. No brochures offered. Unfamiliar with the Safe insurance we purchased. Very bad customer service.LESLIE S.

Uhaul on Gilbert ave cancelled my reservation without notice. They told me it's their policy to cancel one hour after scheduled pickup. This policy is nowhere in the emails uhaul sent me. They found me a truck several miles away on red bank expressway. The manager there was great and restored my confidence. I dropped off the truck and left the keys that evening. On Tuesday I found a second rental charge on my card. I then waited an hour and a half in hold to talk to customer service. Linda richter was the rep who helped me. She was excellent, among my best customer service experiences. When we finally sorted it out it appears all charges had already been reconciled. I will now wait a week for my bank to post the changes. All told uhaul wasted an hour of my time on moving day and another two hours with customer service. If at all possible I will always choose another rental company in the future.JAMES M.

Ask about the vehicle and any maintenance/trouble items. I had to bring it up to the man at the counter, and he didn't note the feedback. Gentleman at the counter, however, was very helpful. He was willing to waive half of the mileage charge caused by equipment unavailability in Iowa.Kristy S.

I had trouble figuring out that the lockbox on the gate next to the storage units was where keys were held, but that was kind of on me. Maybe be more clear on the mobile site that it's the lockbox in front of the building? Overall super easy to pickup and return.K W.
