my rating is not based on an individual location but more of the overall logistical experience in Cincinnati. i originally rented from the Milford location but was moved to Red Bank by u-haul. The Red Bank location was fine but they didn’t have all of the equipment (3 furniture dolly’s) I had reserved. they cancelled the furniture dolly’s late Friday afternoon and no one called to tell me. they just took it off the reservation in the app. I didn’t see that until after hours on Friday night. additionally when the logistics team called me on thursday to tell me they didn’t have any 15 foot trucks available, that they were giving me a 20 foot truck (that was too big) and i had to go get the truck at Red Bank instead of Milford, they kept my reservation for 8 am but never mentioned Red Bank didn’t open until 9. i didn’t find this out until we left to pick up the truck and were looking for directions to the location on saturday morning at 7:30 am. when we called U-haul to figure out what to do, U-haul wasn’t sure if Red Bank had the truck ready for pickup and suggested we wait until 9 am vs doing an after hours pick up. When we got to the Red Bank location the truck was ready with the equipment they had but someone had just driven off with it. Red Bank had to reload the equipment on another truck before we could leave. we had people meeting us at 9 at our move location in Milford, so everyone had to wait about 45 minutes on us. on Saturday, dispatch did find furniture dolly’s at milford for us so while waiting for Red Bank to open we had to go to milford pick up the furniture dolly’s, which Milford had to create a separate reservation for because they weren’t able to modify the now redbank reservation. Then we went to Red Bank for the truck and the rest of the equipment then back to our move location in Milford. logistics for this rental were not good at all. I reserved a 15 foot truck, 12 blankets, 2 utility dolly’s and 3 furniture dolly’s at the beginning of may for an 8 am saturday pickup at Milford, on the 24th. two days before the pick up I received a call from U-haul and was told there weren’t any 15 foot trucks available for the weekend but i was getting an upgrade to 20 foot. however, I had to go to a different location. my reservation was for 8 am but the Redbank location didn’t open until 9 and no one mentioned this when they were switching my reservation and topped it off by not calling to let me know the furniture dolly’s weren’t available when Red Bank figured that out. I reserved a truck and equipment from a specific location 3 weeks prior to pick up. if any part of that order is not available to meet the reservation then U-haul should have made sure the truck and the equipment are at the location of the reservation. that’s what customers should be able to expect. the customer shouldn’t have run around to different locations to get the truck and equipment they reserve in advance. it’s not like i walked in on the day i needed the truck or tried to add the equipment the day before the reservation. u-haul had 3 weeks to get prepared for this rental. don’t put that on your customers. i do want to say that the manager at Milford was great to work with. he apologized for the mix up and was very accommodating and he got us the furniture dolly’s we needed. i had been in the store two weeks before buying packing materials and he was a generate help then as well. additional positives of the experience were the truck was clean and worked well. drop off was easy and friendly.

It took 30 min to get it out of the parking spot. They finally came over to help me get it out after 15 min of me trying. It should have been ready to go for me. They also didn’t give me any instructions on the return because it was after hours.

I returned the uhaul filled with gas so that I would avoid payment but I likely overpaid for gas in filling up what the previous person didn't put in. I understand there wasn't anything I could do to get my money back for the extra gas but it was a bit of a disappointment when they said it was full and it was not.

Karen CPerhaps inform the customer that is renting a truck of the alerts and instructions that are posted in the cab. I did not notice the instruction on the dash to disengage the Tow/haul setting when empty until I was dropping the truck off after use. Otherwise a great experience, great website to select and reserve equipment. I have reserved probably 6 or 7 different trailers and trucks over the past 2 years and it is very customer friendly.
