I reserved the truck weweks in advance.The truck was supose to be 1mile from my house.An ready for pick-up at 7am.Less than 24hrs. before the day.I was told i had to wait until 9am.An drive 41miles to pick it up.I was not compensated for the gas to drive 41miles back to my house.Most importantly it screwed up my enitre schedule for moving.I had to find someone to take me to get truck.I lost 3hrs. of packing time (i had a 5hr.drive ahead of me.arrived at destination middle of the night).Not maintained! My friend who drove works for Good Year.says he's amazed we didnt blow a tire.very worn.It was a very bumpy ride.Few things damaged during trip.

Location was fine. U-Haul service though arranging where I would pick up a truck was frustrating. Getting a truck locally was tough as ours was taken out of service. Had to go far in the Bay Area to pick up a truck and the 21 extra miles and 50 dollar credit was not enough to make up for the hour of time I had to take to get the truck. I realize this may have just been bad luck and I appreciate getting a truck that is up to date on service but the location assigned to me to get the truck was far

I travel 10miles round trip just to know I will be take care of, this location is head and shoulders above any other place I have rented from.

Rentals can be a fickle operation. Sometimes the trucks aren't in great shape, sometimes the desk staff are having a bad day, or maybe the stars are just misaligned and everything goes wrong. Not only did none of that occur when I picked up my truck from Lonnie, but he made me laugh, was incredibly kind, and made what should have been a stressful day an easy one. It is a rarity for someone to show unconditional friendliness and kindness these days, and Lonnie did it effortlessly. I will happily pull 100mph on my motorcycle just to make it in time to pick up a truck from him if I ever move again!

We rented on Saturday morning and moved everything out of the truck on Sunday but because so few Uhaul locations are closed on Sunday we had to figure out what to do with the 20 foot truck.

Picked a location that was convenient and got moved to a different one twice, both way further away. On the day itself they said they called at 6PM that morning to tell us it had changed yet again, but we didn't receive an email, text or phone call. So when we arrived at the 2nd location they told us to go to yet another location. I asked for in person pick up, but the location wasn't open at my requested time. We were forced to wait an hour in front of the location because we couldn't pick up the van with the app (I assume because I asked for in person pickup). The guy at this location was very helpful, but apart from him this was a subpar experience.

The agent at Queens Hand Rentals in Alameda was super courteous and helpful! I was disappointed at first when my reservation was changed without my approval, but when I found out how easy the rental process was to include. U-Haul’s regional manager Jeremy misrepresented this location as expert in loading a low profile car on a n auto transport. Lonnie provides great customer service but does not have that expertise despite what Jeremy told me.

The process using the app is horrifically frustrating. It is slow and unresponsive. If you accidentally refresh a page you have to restart the entire process as it doesn't save your progress. Also, if uhaul is going to rely on app based remote checkout, either ensure that all cell service carriers have reception in that area or provide a hotspot.
