I asked for a Norwalk pickup, and was told that Durham was my only choice. It took me an hour to drive there, and 2 hours back in traffic as I wasn't allowed to use the Merrit Parkway.

The tongue of the trailer was very heavy and difficult to position it on the ball. A trailer jack would have been a big help and should be installed on the 6*12 trailer.

Actually getting the trailer was the problem. I was told by the main U-Haul number that there were no trailers to match my need two days before my departure across the country. I was told that there were none in my state or the surrounding states around me. I had someone else call the main U-Haul number end they spoke to a gentleman named Greg who was able to find a trailer for me in Durham Connecticut. I feel that the scheduling department did not compromise with me to find a trailer or change my equipment for no additional cost. I made my reservation a month in advance and figured that U Haul would have accommodated the customer or at least did a little more digging to find a trailer to fit my needs. Once the reservation was made successfully and the trailer was secured my U-Haul experience was great.

The Quick Stop location was excellent for picking up my truck on an early, cold morning. The fellow working there got me checked in with keys to the truck and furniture pads I had rented very quickly, and then he kindly lent me an ice scraper to get all the snow/ice off the truck as it had unexpectedly snowed the day before. Would absolutely use this location again.

The reservation process was poor. I did not like that I selected a location to pick up my trailer and had to pick it up at another location. I was notified two days in advance of my rental. Would have picked another location.

I have rented many Uhaul's from nearby area locations over the last couple of years. I have never had a bad experience until today which was the first time I rented from The Quickstop Durham, CT location. The "gentlemen" who owns the place would not take back the truck when I went to return it because he said it was dirty. There is usually a $25 fee to clean the truck if it's dirty which I would happily pay, but he wouldn't allow it. I took the truck home and swept it out, which literally took 5 minutes. Then I called him to come pick the truck up because I had no way of bringing it back again. He told me he doesn't allow that and then hung up on me. I called upper management to complain they told me he called them to tell them that I did not want to pay the $25 cleaning fee and I chose to take the truck home and clean it which was a complete and utter lie. This location should be shut down from Uhaul. I see many poor reviews about this location online.

The truck was dirty and the tank had less fuel than indicated by the proprietor. The location was also out of the way.

I discovered upon arriving at my loading destination, that the truck loading ramp was missing the hooks to latch it to the cargo bed. It made loading and unloading with the ramp difficult. Upon returning to the rental location, I discovered that the missing hooks were under the drivers seat. I notified the business owner and he was unaware of this issue.

Everything was easy: signing up and making a reservation online, speaking to a representative on site, checking in and out, and using the equipment. I put in a reservation for a trailer the night before, and it was waiting for us in the morning when we arrived. Our car is equipped for a trailer, so it was an easy setup for us. I am quite satisfied with the whole process. One thing to consider: the service is out of a convenience store, so don't expect a full UHaul location. It was perfect for me since I live nearby in Durham. Recommended.

Drop off location was not the one I asked for. This drop off was listed on my contract and I was surprised that it wasn't what I had asked for. Controversy arose when I tried to extend the contact by one day after I was told I could do so.

the U-haul app is terrible. mobile pickup did not work. This location had terrible mobile service. In addition, I got a $10.00 fee for paying for my u-haul with my credit card and the owner lied about how full the gas tank was. Biggest Rip-Off! never again!

My reservation was made for Colchester, CT the night before. Upon arrival, I was told that the Colchester location didn't even have the type of vehicle I had reserved and that they didn't have any information about my reservation. I waited on hold for 58 minutes with uhaul with no answer, and infuriatingly the call was ended (not by me), and I drove an extra 25 miles to Durham to pick up my cargo van. I will not be using Uhaul again, as there is zero communication between the company and the franchise and the website does not make reservations that can be carried out.

Just a back road convenience store. while the counter person was nice and did nothing wrong there was no direction on how to use the trailer, or the fact that the hold down straps would not work with stock jeep tires they are only made for small car tires. So at the last minute i was stuck running around trying to buy expensive straps to attached the vehicle to the trailer. I was told when I reserved the trailer all necessary straps were included. Clearly untrue.

First off, I had ordered for this pick up and drop off at a certain place. The pick up got changed on me, to which uhaul tried to make amends via reimbursing me miles... But then trying to pick the original drop off point I was told that wasnt an option. But they'd "leave it open". I got a call from a guy at cubesmart where I left the truck, telling me to call back asap because he needs to rent the truck and I had a balance of $14 left and he wanted me to give him my c.c. number. I felt very uncomfortable with that. I passed by cubesmart and the truck was still there... That makes me think he just wanted to zero the balance. Either way, I'm going to budget rental next time.

I reserved a 26ft box truck. I was told it was a commercial 26ft truck. I requested and was told it's interior would be lined with e-track not wood strips to secure items. I reserved 2 dozen moving blankets (my reservation was made a 3 weeks in advance) I get there and he says he only had 6 blankets, and didn't offer any solution to the problem, just didn't even care about the inconvenience. I then had to drive to Meriden (which is the store I was supposed to pick the truck up from anyway) to get blankets. I get to Meriden and now not earlier when I was making reservations was told that moving blankets are $10 A DAY per dozen, not a one time fee during the rental. In conclusion I wasted time driving to another uhaul to get blankets which I chose not to rent because the price was not explained correctly during my reservation process, was not provided what was promised, I was not able to use my e-track tie downs and had to purchase now tie down straps. I expected a commercial 26ft box truck, I received a uhaul custom made 26ft home owners moving truck. I was not satisfied with the total experience and will not likely rent from uhaul again. On top of all this I received email confirmation of the dropoff and someone charged me $78 for mileage overage. I was allocated 300 miles for the week and did not exceed that, now later today I must waste more time contacting the Meriden Uhaul to correct the over charge.
