This location was the 3rd redirect from U-Haul for my pick-up, and it was a day late. I reserved my 9x5 trailer for a Sunday pick up at a location 20 minutes from where I was staying a week ahead of time for a one way trip to central Florida. I was redirected to a location an hour north, where my equipment was "guaranteed" to be available. There was absolutely nothing at that location except a key drop and a couple of U-Haul signs. I was then told there were no 9x5 trailers available in the entire Birmingham area until Tuesday, even though I learned there were trailers available, but they would only rent them for local use. I was finally emailed to pick up a trailer Monday, at noon. When I arrived to pick up the trailer, I was checked out by a hotel employee, and told OK, go ahead and take it. No verification of the equipment condition or of my hitch set up. I had just installed the hitch and wiring. My hitch would have passed easily, but the point is no one even looked at it. This was, by far, my worst experience with renting from U-Haul.

Dropped off without a problem, plenty of space to park & easy location to get to
TIMOTHY DPicking up at this location was a horrible experience. First, it's not an actual location but apparently it operates out of the hotel. While where it operates is not the issue, there is no visible signage. Better and bigger signage would have been helpful as we passed it the first time and turned into the hotel to ask for assistance, that's when I noticed the sign. Second, there was no one to check me in, inspect the equipment or assist with attaching the trailer to the UHaul truck. This all had to be done by me, the customer. Third, the auto-transport was located on the side of the property, in the very back parking lot.

Richard WI waited almost two hours for a UHAUL rep to show up that never did. Ended up having the hotel staff get them on the phone to eventually give me the trailer number. Another customer also was waiting too. A bit ridiculous for the time crunch that a move takes.
CHLOE CThis was subpar at best. I was lucky to have made it safely home. Nothing was strapped or attatched correctly on the vehicle transport. Also, the signal lights were not working. We were not given any paperwork either. Upon arriving to my destination to drop off the vehicle transport the Uhaul in Gaffney, SC, had no record of us. I will never ever recommend this location.
