Ramos added insurance without my knowledge despite my declining online when I made the reservation. Had to sign in the sun off his phone. He never asked about insurance and it is impossible to reread the agreement off an IPhone in sunlight. Did not realize until I was on the road. Not a good U-Haul rep.

I had 2 reservations. One was 20864428 to put an hitch installation onto my vehicle. The next reservation was for as rental of a trailer. That reservation number was 21157522. On the day, we picked up the trailer which was 1/15/25 the trailer tail lights worked. However a few hours later the lights were not working. We took it back to 10330 Gulf Free Way in Houston to have the guy who put it back in look at it. He said it was a blown fuse and gave us an additional fuse if it happened again. This delayed out departure by 2 hours. We were traveling to Las Vegas under the assumption the taillights were working. We pulled in for gas around 6pm and were told by a driver our lights didn't work. We had to stay in the town of Van Horn Texas because it was dark and we had no tail lights which again was not our plan. The next day I called Uhaul Customer Service and they hooked up to Road Side Assistance. They told me this was no an emergency and that I should travel to El Paso which was about 200 miles away with no tail lights. I told her that was unacceptable and that I wasn't driving illegally on the highway. She hung up on me. I called back and customer assistance reach out to Road Side Assistance and their solution was that I could drive to El Paso using hand signals and that it was perfectly acceptable to drive during the day with no tail lights. So NOT true. I explained that I was at a road side assistance center in Van Horn Texas. The people at this location were wonderful. However we had to wait until they opened. They fixed us up because the wiring was done incorrectly and it was shorting out causing the fuse to constantly blow. A few hours later we were on our way. The problem is that we were now about 8 hours behind our schedule. We were supposed to be in Las Vegas that night and it wasn't going to happen. I reserved a room at the MGM Grand which I couldn't cancel and had to get a room in Arizona because of all YOUR mishaps and faulty equipment. I am requesting that you pay for my room in Arizona. I had to pay for 2 rooms that day because of no fault of mine. This should of been handled correctly on day one. We drove many miles in an unsafe vehicle with no tail lights.

Rachelle RTrain representatives for your company to do better installations. It was too much slack in the chain, but I did not know this since it was my first time to haul a U-Haul trailer.
CARLA RIt turns out my truck had a couple of blown fuses preventing the trailer lights from working, but the site supplied some spares that got me on the road quickly.
Charles RHaving never been there before, the location was confusing as to procedure and even a bit intimidating. The gentleman who handled the return was very capable though and put me more at ease.
