When I dropped the truck off there was nobody there. I called to check it in. I was disappointed that I was three days early and 300 miles under the allotted amount but there was no refund for the unused portion. Please remove the â€œcutsieâ€ picture on the back door. I was stopped twice by people who thought I left the door open. The truck did not have cruise control. Not a big deal but it may have saved me a speeding ticket.James M.

No one at this location showed up for my 10am reservation. I had to call locally and the head office numerous times before someone finally came to the location 30 minutes late. I am puzzled why there was a charge for gasoline applied to my credit card. A few minutes down the street before I dropped off this truck at the return location I had filled the rental unit up at a gasoline cardlock to the full mark with approximately 131 litres added and the gasoline gauge needle was past the â€œFâ€ mark. I don't feel there should be any additional charges applied for this rental return. There has to be some kind of mistake. Please reverse these charges. Thanks. BarryBarry B.

Pick up in Yellowknife was not at all what I expected. The shack was tiny, dirty, dingy and smelled like oil. The worker kept little to no communication with me as he went in and out the shack to transfer trailer. There was dog hair all over the interior and empty water bottles under the seat and behind the seats, along with empty food bags. The cup holders were filthy as was the floor. However....when I returned it... I vacuumed out the cab, washed the seats, cleaned the dash & cup holders and REMOVED all the garbage left behind. I even swept the interior of the Uhaul as that was riddled with stones & dirt. Thank you to the Edmonton Depot for waiving the extra KM's and they have supreme hospitality. I'll be recommending Hay River instead of Yellowknife location.BRENDA LEE M.
unit was in need of repairs when I picked it up. part of the hitch mechanism needed replacing as it was rusted out. One of the security chains was broken and needed replacement. One of the lights on trailer did not work. The other one came loose and I had to use duct tape to hold it on. Parts of the unit needed a lot of WD40 to get them loose and working again. However, the unit got the car to where it needed to get to so all in all, things worked out in the end,MICHAEL JAMES H.

Yes, it's in a junkyard.. get over it...the trucks are not junk and the location is typical for the North where entrepreneurs have to work multiple revenue streams. We are lucky to have a UHaul associate in Yellowknife. Everything worked out smoothly for me. truck ran great, loading was a breeze after watching the videos to learn how to load and strap it all down so it doesn't shift. Truck ran great.. wish it had cruise control but I can understand why not... minor inconvenience with the US configuration (no daytime lights, MPH speedometer) Will definitely use again if I need to.Robert Jeffrey G.

The description of the truck should be made more clear. I rented a 26' truck, but it only had 23.5' of space in the back. This should be made more clear. The wheel wells sticking up into the back were also an inconvenience. The truck deck would only have to be 6-8" higher to avoid this and it would make loading large objects much easier, especially ones on pallets.Bradley M.

Vehicle was not clean and I had to pay for cleaning on the other end. I was also told by UHaul when I called and booked this truck and car hauler, not this particular location, that due to the fact that I had to fly into Yellowknife to pick up this vehicle, I would not be paying for this day. I was only given 5 days for my move and I spent the first day just getting to my location to be able to pack the truck. The staff at this location were prompt and friendly.Christine B.

We had booked a UHaul for pick up at the Yellowknife location for July 28th, 2018. Two days prior to pick up, I was called by a location in High Level, Alberta and told I would have to come pick up a trailer there ... this was two days before a move across the country. Even more ridiculous is that the drive from Yellowknife to High Level is 15 hours round trip!! I was told there was nothing else that could be done, and I would only be given a 100.00 discount on the rental. What a joke... after an hour of calling back the High Level location, I was finally told there would be a trailer available for me in the Yellowknife location. What a waste of time and added stress that was not needed on top of this. To add insult to injury, the discount was removed and the manager in High Level would not grant me ANY discount. Upon returning the uhaul vehicle it has been noted that the rear inside tires are larger than the outside tires. It certainly appears that the wrong tire size was installed. The ride quality of the vehicle was horribly bad due to a very bad vibration.Aaron T.
Try and give more certainty with available trucks rather than 1 day before regarding within city moves. It is stressful not knowing if a truck will be available especially in a small isolated city with only one u-haul distributor. 1 week â€œsoftâ€ Guarantee and 3 day hard Guarantee would be ideal for in city moves. Also allowing the vendor to make changes rather then the call Center if a resorvation has problems would be nice. I.e quote was $59 and then changed to an mid week day based on availability and the website quoted $709 when I tried to change online. I Had to phone Call Center as the vendor could not make changes to a existing online booking.Lee M.

Proprietor was helpful and friendly. Unit was new, in good condition and very comfortable. However, it had clearly been smoked in. Rental Location was rundown, untidy and understocked. We had booked 5 dozen blankets (the default amount for our booking) but the proprietor would only release 2 dozen as he did not have many blankets available. We did obtain an additional dozen before we loaded the unit but could have used a few more to fully protect our furniture.Brian C.

When we arrived at the location, no one was there. We called and the person said the reservation was for 9 a.m. That's not what my emailed U'haul confirmation reservation said. I think there needs to be a bit better communication between U-haul and the folks who run the service in Yellowknife. We had originally asked for a small trailer, but were upgraded to a moving van because trailers aren't available in Yellowknife. When we spoke with the guy, he offered a 15-foot trailer (versus 10-foot), which we appreciated. The equipment was good. The price was right.Alyssa M.
I was charged for going over 1000kms on mileage. Which was physically impossible based on my route, I was actually 300 kms under my limit. I had to call customer service and negotiate a refund for $260 which otherwise would have been charged to my card. I had to phone and leave messages that weren't returned, just to get the vehicle, I had to manoeuvre the vehicle out of a packed junkyard, the vehicle was not at the gas level it said it was, so I had to pay at the back end despite leaving more gas than what I received it. Staffing this location would be a good start. I was told to simply leave the equipment in the yard which felt a little bit strange to me given that I had expected to do a check over the equipment before signing off on any paperwork. It is the only option in Yellowknife so I guess the owner isn't too interested in providing anything beyond a junk yard depot.Richard M.

The unit I used had a hole on the passenger side and allowed mud and water into it and caused damage to my dressers and bed. It also caused things to slide around despite being strapped down. This caused my tv to be broken from my other belongings sliding into it.Elliott G.
Only location in YK, equipment and truck buried in snow & icy windshield when i was supposed to drive off, truck door was frozen closed and needed a strong kick to open up. I also had to remind the operator after he's left that I asked for a furniture dolly, he did come back quickly tho & helped me out.
