Stopped in to rent a truck was told I need to call the 800# to reserve. I received the pickup information with a pickup time of 10:00 am. Called two days prior to pickup to request a 9:00 am pickup. Never received a call back. When to the location at 9:00 am when the location opens. Doors were locked. Employee never showed up until 9:40.

When it snows 2+ inches, have an employee at least OFFER to help clean the snow off the truck. I had to wait 15+ minutes to warm it up so the snow could melt. I can’t reach far enough to clean the windshield. AND, I had to use my own scraper. No one took any time to help me clean at all. That would’ve made me feel they appreciated my business. But unfortunately now, customer service is no longer important in keeping customers.

Although it was a walk-in visit, the lady at the desk found a suitable truck. They directed me to rent the correct size. She explained the pricing and the rental procedure from the very beginning to the end. Truck and the dolly was in good shape and fully operational. Prices are reasonable. I know where to go when I need a truck next time.

Mobile app wasn’t working to pick up truck and delayed me by almost 30minutes. Had to call customer service to resolve. Then I got into the truck and it was absolutely disgusting. There was mouse poop in the cup holder. I was already delayed due to poor mobile app service so I took the truck to do what I needed to do and then return it. Absolutely disgusting experience and I will never rent from this place again.

The only issue I had was I requested a dolly that was not in the truck. I called to have that charged removed. I would like to confirm I was not charged for the dolly. Other than that everytime I use this particular facility I have had NO issues. Always pleasant and helpful!!

They changed the pick up venue the day before taking me 25 minutes further away. Then it clearly states that the place opens at 8:00. When I got there at 8:00 I had to wait an hour and fifteen minutes to get the truck. Ridiculous

The employee was on her phone while I was attempting to check out. She became preoccupied with other work. She indicated that someone would be out to help me lift the tandem axle trailer up on my truck’s hitch but no one came to help. She did not provide me with a cable, which should already be connected to the trailer, so I had to go back inside and request a cable. The inside of the trailer was dirty, full of gravel and dirt.

The location I booked at, that was 7 minutes down the street from me, had multiple trailers for the entire rental period with no reservations on them. However, I was forced to drive 4 hours round trip to go pick up and drop off a trailer from a location very far from my house. I called to confirm with the original booking location and they confirmed they had the trailers and they had no reservations during or after my rental period. The reservation person who called to change the pickup and drop off location was anything but helpful and seemed completely disengaged and unwilling to help at all. Standard responses like “sir, the agreement states we can change the location of pickup at our discretion” were all I got. Based on this experience I will never use uhaul again.

The app did not work for the after hours pickup The van had dried clumps of mud in it and the passenger seat was loaded with animal hair The rear tires were both 20# low I had ordered 2 packs of blankets and they where not in the van

26ft box truck, Check engine light was on, feels like transmission gear was missing, drove 190 highway miles it used 30gal of fuel, couldnt fasten the safety belt on passenger side, buckle was missing

I will never use U-Haul again. I got ripped off on a bogus gas charge. I filled the gas tank to the same level as I dropped it off, and got a $60 fuel charge. I even submitted a picture.

Nothing please just close this location down. I received horrible customer service and the vehicle I received was not only beat up but the mileage on my contract was completely off compared to the odometer when I got into the vehicle. By over 4000 miles…. Overall just please don’t waste more peoples money.

The Bolingbrook location was GREAT, but the only reason we had to use the Bolingbrook location was because even though we made a reservation two months in advance in Iowa city, U-Haul called two days before our move date and told us they did not have a truck for us and there were no U-Haul trucks available in Iowa supposedly. U-Haul actually does this quite frequently in Iowa City to college students. U-Haul takes more reservations then they actually have trucks for. Every year U-Haul cancels on people two days before their lease ends leaving them without a truck even though they had a reservation. So we had to get our U-Haul in Bolingbrook Illinois and drive an empty truck 200 miles and they charge $.99 a mile. We had a reservation to rent a truck in Iowa for 3 Days, drive it one way to Illinois for $300. Since they canceled our reservation we ended up paying $500 for 1 day to drive round-trip from Illinois. So we have a theory that in Iowa City U-Haul cancels any reservations that are for longer than one day so that they can cash in on more truck rentals. Renters please beware when you make a reservation with U-Haul. They will have you believe you have a reservation and then two days before your move they might tell you otherwise.

I set my rental up for an after hours pick up ... Followed the instructions only to find the key was NOT in the lockbox ... Had to wait until they opened to get key which delayed my day by several hours. Staff was friendly and helpful to resolve the matter but put a cramp in my moving day.
