Hi there! I am a frequent Uhaul renter for photo shoots and prop moving. I've always had a great experience, expect for this past one. The rental place was at a Rice Street Tabacco (link:https://www.uhaul.com/Locations/Truck-Rentals-near-Saint-Paul-MN-55117/019382/). The store itself was unclean, no masks were worn by store owners/workers, his billing system was dated and needed to use 2 different cards to receive my payment. Beyond that, the truck I rented was in horrible shape. The back padlock didn't even lock! If you just pulled on the lock, It would open with little effort. The breaks of the car are faulty and could not make a sudden stop - making me concerned whenever driving. Please please please, check on this Uhaul location and reconsider. Please discontinue that vehicle so that future accidents don't happen. Please assure this won't happen again

Man who worked at this location was pretty rude and not very thorough when I rented the truck. The truck was in fine condition and clean but the lock to the storage was broken and we had to buy our own. Also he hung up on me when he wasn't happy that I wouldn't be returning the truck after being told by a uhaul representative id be able to rent it for additional days. I unfortunately did not get his name.

Ensure the vehicles receive COVID sanitation. There was no evidence it was done. The shop had only 1 person working, so very unlikely they cleaned between patrons.

They cheated us out our money we went to a smoke shop where the rent uhauls and instead of them taking our card They took 200 in cash then only gave us 92 dollars back

Was not impressed with the help. Didn't even want me wait till he checked out the truck. Also would like to add the truck had a cracked side mirror that I could not report to anyone at the time of checking out the truck on-line.

I did not feel safe leaving my car at this location while I was renting the truck. The person at the counter even told me not to park in the front or else it might get towed. This location is literally a smoke shop with a U-Haul operation as a side hustle. I have rented trucks from U-Haul before and have always appreciated how thorough and professional the process is. This was not at all what I had grown accustomed to. When I brought the truck back, I gave the person at the counter they keys and that was it. No check-in process. No verification the truck was in good working condition or that I had filled the gas tank to the level it was before I rented it. No receipt! A day later I received a phone call asking when I was going to bring the truck back because someone else was waiting for it. I told him I already turned it in 24 hours prior. This place should not be renting out U-Haul trucks. They are giving your business a bad reputation.

The truck had just been returned, not refueled, delayed because uhaul is a side business to the tobbaco shop, single employee, issues with the phone transaction, location is very suspect. I won't go there again or recommend it. Shady.

The location wasn't as much the problem as was the system by which the truck got rented. Having to do it all online is fine but the process took way too long. I sat at the location for 40+ minutes waiting to be able to take the truck out.

Fix the computer system so it works. Be sure the customer gets a copy of the contract before he leaves with the truck. The only thing I was given was the key - nothing else. There was a promise of an email which I have never received. I finally went on uhaul.com to look for information. The only thing I could find was the order/reservation. Requiring the use of a smart phone is totally unacceptable because I do not have one and do not plan to get one. If that is what is required to do business with U-Haul I won't be using U-Haul again.

This is located in a tobacco shop in what seemed to be a very unsafe part of town. I did not feel comfortable in this area and find it disgraceful that U-Haul would require customers unfamiliar to the area to drop the truck off at a tobacco shop in this part of St Paul.
