This location was nice, the personnel were very helpful and friendly, but it was 45 minutes from Rochester MN. When I booked online, it was the closest location that had the trailer I needed. The next day, running some errands, we drove past one of Rochester's main rental facilities - much larger than the one in Red Wing and only 10 minutes away, and there were several of the same trailers there. I have no idea why the booking system had me drive all the way to Red Wing. What a waste of time and gas.Kathleen H.
Gas tank was actually full when I got the vehicle, vehicle was well maintained and clean. My previous experience with renting a Penske (in other region) was the exact opposite. Ripley's is the best!Patrick M.

It's not about the location- it's the unethical way in which I was manipulated into having to drive more than an hour to pick up my truck. Just because you check a box stating that a rep will call me with instructions doesn't mean I'm willing to drive that far. You and the routing manager both know this is unethical and you do it anyway to book more reservations.JEREMY W.

We got a call the night before telling us that the enclosed trailer we ordered was unavailable. This is the second time this has happened this summer. Do not do reservations if you can't guarantee your inventory, We settled on an open trailer and it pour the entire day.Eric S.

The app never worked. The staff at the local pick up spot had to override the malfunction of the app at pick up and drop off. The staff at the local site were fantastic and helped immediately. U-Haul - you need to fix this app. These malfunctions are not acceptable.Larry D.

The location wasn't a problem, but the app didn't work when we tried to drop it off after hours. The hold time for help was 20 minutes before even getting anyone to talk to. The person on the phone didn't know what to do. The app started working spontaneously after repeating "try again" over and over and over.Heather J.

Weren't too helpful. I had reserved a 20 foot truck. Memorial Day weekend. Was told I'd be able to come in at 9am and pick it up in person. Got all the way down there and was closed. No text or email explaining this ahead of time. So I called the after hours number. I wanted to know how to retreive my truck and key and the owner said the truck I had reserved two months ahead of time wasn't available despite there being two of the 20 foot trucks I reserved right next to all the trucks. I was given a small 15 footer truck and had to make 2 trips instead of one had I received the truck I reserved. This obviously cost me more gas and precious time. A little heads up and courtesy call would have been nice especially after calling to confirm everything was good to go 3 days in advance and being told yes. Also the truck gas tank was only half full. So had to fill up twice which took more time out of my day.Robert L.

I signed up for the 24/7 pickup option. My pickup time was 7 am but when I got there I signed into my account and it said I had to wait until Ripleys opened to get my truck. I called Uhaul and was on hold for 30 minutes. I spoke to someone who said that the truck keys were not made available so I had to wait until they opened. I had people waiting to help move so everything was delayed an hour and a half. The person at Uhaul said I would receive a $50 refund which I have yet to see.JOHN B.
The van we rented was not clean inside. The two seats were coated in dog hair from a prior renter. That was not the usual we have experienced with this company, at all. They have always been and remain trusted and reliable.Richard D.

It is the year 2021. This location needs to update their electrical on the trailers they don't have modern plugs on them so that way they can scam you into buying one inside. And the woman that work there are little hitlersjake U.

I was renting truck for myself and had a friend with to help and the u-haul company not the location flagged her for having some issue in the past and flagged me and said they would not rent to me because of what she did. Then they gave me partial information about her problem she had with them, border line personal info. I got it all figured out with uhaul manager and had to put the charge on a credit card instead of paying cash to "guaranteed payment" I did not understand that part when I had cash in hand to pay.BRENDAN G.

My comments are not directed toward Ripleys rental, because they were helpful to us, but to UHaul. We physically went to our NEAREST UHaul, 3 weeks before and filled out the paper work for a truck and car transport for a specific date and pick up time. Not once did they say that we would have to travel 45 minutes east of our NEAREST UHaul rental place, to get the truck and another 30 minutes west of our NEAREST UHaul rental place, to get the transport! We got that information call 48 hours before our scheduled pickup date. Call us naive but we were quite surprised about the distances we were expected to drive to get what we requested, considering the Uhaul where we filled out our paper work, was 3 miles from us. We were not happy about the lack of communication and cooperation on Uhaul and the schedulers part. EVENTUALLY we were able to get the truck and transport at the same place but it still was a 45 minute drive- one way- to get what we requested to have , just 3 miles from us. To add to our frustration, when we drove past the NEAREST UHaul, on our 45 minute drive to the other UHaul, in their parking lot, sat the size truck and transport we requested!!! WTH!Spencer H.

everything was great up to the return, the App would not recognize the location. We tried to call Uhaul was on hold for 45 min. We of course left but continued to remain on hold as we did not want to be charged an addl $20 for not completing the return on line. When answered they said to call the location in the am. In the end all was well, and we were not charged, but would have liked a smoother return as not to worry.Anastasia G.

all i can say is uhaul has gone down hill ive used uhaul for the last 20 years i have moved alot from state to state i will have to say this will be my last . your prices are over the top and your service has went to shit you guys just let any shit hole have a uhaul dealership these mistakes are why i will never use uhaul again.tim B.

When dropping off the vehicle after hours, it was quite dark in the lot. Per the online return questionnaire it wanted photos of where the vehicle was left. Hard to take photos in the dark!Traci F.
