Connected to a low budget/run down motel. They did not have any other equipment other than the truck. I had reserved a dolly but this location did not have any of that type of equipment. The person was friendly enough but I would not want to go back there for future rentals. I had reserved a 20 foot truck in Santa Clarita and two days before I was to fly to California and pick up the truck to drive to Reno I was informed that they had no 20 foot trucks and I had to settle for a 15 foot truck and pick it up at this run down motel in Castaic. Luckily we were barely able to fit our stuff in the 15 foot truck but it was inconvenient two days before to find this out.Daniel S.
This pick up location was terrible! Employee could not complete the reservation because he was new and didn't know the system. After waiting an hour we had to leave and come back in the morning because he could not give us the truck. While we were waiting some people came to the window frantically yelling "call the police" We actually feared for our safety because of the shady nature of the people hanging around this location. The truck was missing a ramp, which is an essential element when you're loading and unloading heavy items by yourself. We couldn't do what we needed to do. Also, there was a mix up with the truck during pick up and to check out took 40 minutes, which delayed our entire day and out us behind schedule. There was also an error on the original invoice we had to correct.Theresa A.

It was far and away the west emU-Haul experience I've ever had. They sent me in the road with no electrical hook up for the trailer. Zero brake lights, tail lights or turn signals. They never did a condition report of the trailer, no safety walk through. I was asked to â€œhook it upâ€ by myself. At no point did â€œJoshâ€ ever leave the counter. Isherwood I asked for a wire harness to connect the trailer to my vehicle, I was told to go rent it elsewhere or go buy the harness myself. Upon return, they never even made sore that I dropped it off. No I speak too. No nothing. This will be my last U-Haul rental. Wanna talk about it? 818-370-6830.Steve K.

I was misinformed about the rates there was distraction in the office I was charged for something I didn't agree on and I was very disappointed on the overall pricing of the rental I was charged $14 for insurance that I did not authorize and per mile rate I was told it was $.89 a mile and I was not informed that on weekends it is $1.09 mile and that And that a one-way rental there is a flat rate for that I was not informed about that so I'm very disappointed needless to say merry Christmas!Tory S.

Accompany the driver/renter to the trucks. Can be a bit rowdy in the back of this trucker hotel and its unclear which truck to get unless you really pay attention. Also, before the renter leaves, tell them to fill out the text check in (where you take pic of miles) they'll receive.Bethany D.

The rig was disgustingly dirty. The inside of the rig smelled like dog poop and the trailer smelled mike weed. The rig was beyond filthy when I kicked it up.Angel A.

Very poor customer service, dirty, scetchy motel they just send you in the back lot to find your truck on your own, they didn't check the truck because I found a broken mirror in it and had to clean it myself. They don't have any dollies or moving equipment to rent there and the largest size truck they have is a 15' which was not big enough for my small 2 bedroom apartment which they told me it would be big enough for so now I have to make a second trip.kimberly M.

When I picked up the truck on 12-22-18 at 10:00 AM, I asked to the clerk at the Rode Way Inn. if the truck was Inspected and clean before I drive away. His answer was truck was inspected, and clean. I took is word for it. But when I got to House, and Unlock the truck roll away door. The truck was dirty, empty 8 boxes, A dolly and a furniture dolly left inside. I did not use it because I have my own equipment. Cabin was also full of dirty. I returned clean, and refueled it. this is the 1st time that happen to me.Otto B.
Had a very bad experience . To start I had to drive 40 miles to pick up my rental truck that was guaranteed to have it at my local U-Haul . They lied. Having no choice because I had help take off work to help. I was told they gave me $50 off the bill but the total was the same, more lies. Not to mention I had to drive my car a total of 80 miles to pick up the truck and I got nothing for that trouble. When it came time to drop off the truck I called customer service because they told me they wanted me to drive an additional 18 miles. After being on the phone for a long time and transferred from one person to another with no one helping me I spoke with Catherine that was very rude. I asked for a copy of our phone conversation which Is mentioned in your message when you call that you can have a copy of the transcript. She was very nasty and sarcastic and asked how many copies did I need. Check your recordings because everything is supposed to be recorded then you will hear the unprofessionalism that I received . I will be writing a letter to the CEO of the company about my unbelievable horrible experience with customer service. Never received an apology. Still waiting to receive my transcripts from the phone calls that I asked for, again lies . After asking for them several times. Had to keep my help here in additional day in Arizona that had to get back to California because U-Haul wouldn't give me a reasonable place to drop off the truck they just stalled and made me wait until the next day. very unfair, and very unprofessional . Do I have to ask the CEO for my transcripts of our conversations?terry P.

Location had no idea we were coming for the truck. Guy working said we needed to come back until someone who knew what they were doing could help us. We told him that wasn't possible since we FLEW from Oakland to move our things. The dolly and furniture mover were not in the truck. It was a very unprofessional experience.Keith N.

The first person I talked to at this location would not give me a price for a van. I was told I had to pick up a van and drive it to them and then they would tell me how much the overall price was. Then when I questioned the gal she hung up on me. When I dropped off the rental there they had someone doing work in the office chipping paint off the wall. Which isn't legal to proper health and safety codes. I doubt they even tested for lead or asbestos. Lastly I asked for a receipt and the guy checking me out said it would be emailed to me. Never got it, instead I got a phone call the next day from the regional office asking when I was going to drop off the van. Which then I had to let them know I already had. I have worked a lot of Uhauls over the years. This is the worst ever in every way possible. I even had to call them to find out where they were because they run it all out of a run down motel.vernon V.

staff was great but the truck was super dirty. Headliner was coming down in front bby the windshield and the dash was loose and bouncing and rattling really loud. It made for an extremely loud ride. WORST U-HAUL EXPERIENCE EVER!! Trucks were filthy not dirty. It appeared somebody used truck to sleep in & other truck had potting soil in it. None of the trucks were what I considered to be rentable. The dust & smell in the cab caused me allergy issues. Truck was left unlocked & windows were down on their lot. I WOULD NEVER USE THIS LOCATION AGAIN!!!Rebecca U.

When I explained to the person that answered the phone that I wanted to rent a 10foot truck, he said fine. I explained to him that I was going to transport a refrigerator, so I would need a ramp. He did not tell me that a ramp was not available on the truck. I had to rent a 26foot truck, waste of money for me. I did not have time to drive to Saugus and rent from another U-haul store. This Castaic store is useless not enough trucks or proper equipment to rent. I would never go there again!!!!michael A.

After I picked up the truck and had left to fill it with gas I discovered that a large piece of black glass was smashed in the back of the truck. I took it back to get it cleaned out and the staff were so slow that I ended up doing it myself. I then requested a walk through of the truck as there was noticeable damage, but this did not occur. The lights in the back of the truck did not work and I had to use my iPhone light to see what I was doing as we unloaded at night. This is the second time I have provided this same feedback and at no time was any adjustment made to the bill.Jay H.

The employee Josh, who rented out the vehicle did not communicate any of the requirements for the vehicle for the return of it. So I got charged 30$ for gas when he didn't go over any of the details. Also, I specifically told him that I was not the one renting it I just made the reservation for my boyfriend to come pick up and everything should have been switched toy boyfriends at the time of pick. In the end it was not and I could have been held accountable for anything that went wrong. This was poorly handled by the employee and he showed no care for my concern when I told him this. The truck that I rented was not swept out. In addition, the worker did not even come outside to walk around the truck when it was first rented or returned. Furthermore, when renting a dolly it wasn't pre-loaded into the truck. The location was also extremely hard to find and the worker could have easily stated that the location was at the hotel! I will NEVER do any business with this location and maybe even uhaul ever again!HEATHER F.
