I have seen a lot of negative reviews of this place and judging by the 2 times I've used this place it's not their fault. The problem is the uhaul online truck share option. The first time I used this place I opted for that an it was a huge pain in the ass. I was unable to pick up a truck with truck share so I walked the short distance to the office and they were so nice and helpful and had it all sorted out very quickly, it's why I returned there this second time. Great customer service in store, the online truck share option needs to be thrown in the trash.

I rented a truck at the location to be picked up at 3:30 pm then got called 3 times at noon that I was late for my truck. Then I showed up at 3:20 and they said my truck was at a location 2 1/2 miles away at a different location. Luckily the person working at the rose location was able to get me a truck but I had to return it by 8 the next morning?? I had errands to run in the morning that I couldn't, because of headquarters mess up then had to rent a car to go because of the mess up. In the end,it ended up costing me twice as much. Unpleasant for me,but luckily the worker at the rose location helped me emensly! I would have been really in a pickle if that didn't happen. In short, I guess this happens a lot through headquarters. It frustrated him and me. I had to rent from a different company in the morning. Again costing me 2× the money. I hope you can make changes to not have this happen again to me and the guy working at the rose location. If you care about your employees and costumers. Thank you for the service you provide.

It wasn’t so much my experience with Rose City that was terrible, but my experience with the UHaul website. Several failed login attempts and several emailed/texted codes and I was still unable to access my account to complete the Truck Share 24/7 reservation which ended up knocking a half hour off my reservation time, leaving me in a total bind. You guys should really figure out your website and/or an app or kiosk or some way to streamline this process for your customers. As is, it isn’t ‘consumer-friendly’ for anyone.

The process to get verified was confusing and frustrating. I kept getting a message that I couldn’t be verified. Then, out of nowhere, the alternate person I put down got a call. When creating an account, it shows a percentage of your profile complete, but it doesn’t tell you what else you need to do to complete your profile. From what I can see, I have completed everything, but it’s still at 87%.

The only problem I had was related to where the phone app told me to pick up the truck. It stated it was at a lot about 0.6 miles away and when I drove there I couldn't find a uHaul truck. When I went back to the Rose City Self Storage & wine vaults location, the truck was actually parked there instead of the lot the app said. I wasted 15-20 minutes driving to find the truck. That was my only complaint and hopefully it can be fixed for others in the future. Thank you!

Only problem was the van was parked about 2 blocks away in a dirt parking lot... carrying a furniture dolly that distance wasn't a great experience. Other than that everything was great.

There is no parking for customers that have vehicles they want to leave there for a couple hours. But the process was quick and easy.

While the service was excellent I found my rental was lower on gas than my waiver described. I was charged for not refilling, but filled to the line the gauge was at when picked up though not documented.

Have a local number we can contact the office manager at when they are out of the office and have them brief every customer about what to do when the office is closed, as it was (unplanned closure with a note about return time) when we came to return. We could not wait, and when we got no answer on the phone, we did the same as another customer who had gotten through to the office - put our key through the slot. It would have been nice not to have to guess.

They charged me $8.50 for gas. I put in $7.00 worth of gas, just before returning the vehicle. The man told me (Joe) that it would use about 10 miles/gallon. I went 10 miles, put in over 2 gallons and still got charged for 2 gallons. That doesn't seem right.

People should be informed that this is a sketchy area of Portland and they will encounter several homeless people. We didn't feel threatened or uncomfortable but we were a little worried about parking our nice car in the area as we used the rental.

Parking was not an issue on the weekend, but it might be during the week. I had no problems with the rental at all, but the mobile app that U-haul offers for picking up your vehicle is a nightmare.

inside of truck was very dirty. Bed liner needed cleaning. animal hairs on passenger seat. Do they assume we are all moving icky stuff. I had to sweep out truck before putting my items in. It still was not very clean. This is the 2nd time using a truck from here and the first time was very dirty inside. They said they did not have time to clean it. Well, then do not rent it. Location was best was only reason I used uhaul. Otherwise Penske is much better.

9' Van was new and worked well, but was fairly dirty. There were crumbs and sticky floors in the cab. On the plus side, I was really glad there was a backup camera.

There was jam or something on the drivers seat. The cup holders had trash in them and sticky looking liquid. The back was dirty and made moving our brand new couch difficult. When I mentioned these items to the attendant he said simply “okay”.

Keep the fuel level on full because it's hard to guess how much its going to cost to get the fuel level back to the same level. I put $7.00 in the tank but it was still another gallon and a half short and got charged over $7.00 to make up the difference. I ended up paying over $14.00 to drive 21 miles.

My vehicle was covered in spray paint. I added $10 in gas before returning the vehicle and was still charged over $9 by your facility for gasoline. I traveled less than 7 miles. You think I used 5 gallons of. This is a raket. Your nonsense terms and conditions hold me to this bullshit; therefore I have to pay this. But I will rip you apart on every outlet for your thievery and nonselnsical hidden fees (including a $1 credit card fee). Shame on you (the employee reading this for playing a role in this) and your organization.

When we got to the location on Belmont, I, Sonia Rincon Heflin gave my name and it was not found. When I reserved the truck on the internet, I put my partner's name, as the main driver. What I did not know or understand was that the reservation ended up being in his name. So there was some involvement and confusion with that which made this experience unpleasant to begin with. Returning the truck was fine.

Had to clean the inside of the truck. I was moving household items and there was a lot of dirt and debris on the floor. Truck was dusty inside, smelled of smoke and steering wheel was sticky. I understand the turn around time was short but the truck required about 30 minutes, or more, of cleaning before I wanted to put my items in. Next time I will ask condition of the truck and check out before I take. Truck was newer and in otherwise in good condition.

The UHaul was not in the location that was listed, instead, the shop that had access to the keys was not aware of the fact that they had access and sent me to a car lot to find a "lock box". There was no lock box. I was delayed an hour and half conversing with UHaul about where this lock box was. They suggested I use the app. I got the app. The app proceeded to redirect me and tell me that it was not functioning at that time and instead call UHaul. Again. Uhaul then informed me that they had talked with the shop owner and had told them about the keys. There was much confusion on the shopowners part about the dolly I rented, which they said initially they did not have. FInally, I received the keys, returned to the car lot and parked my car in the space left by the Uhaul. I was subsequently ticketted $98 for parking in that space. There was no signage about where I should park. The shop owner informed me that they would be gone by the time I returned and just to leave the dolly in the uhaul. This is a liability to me, if the dolly was randomly damaged after I left the vehicle. I have never experienced a more convoluted, ridiculously inefficient and inept system for renting vehicles. I was delayed 1.5hrs due to your companies failures and internal confusion between UHaul and vendors. Absolutely ridiculous.

Reserved a 10ft truck, truck did not start. Was given 9ft van instead caused me to have to make multiple trips. Also uhaul authorized my credit card multiple times causing me to go over my limit and pay a finance charge. Very unsatisfactory customer service

I was told that the vehicle was filled and by only going my estimated 10 miles, I would only need to fill up one gallon of gas to get back to fill. When it actually came time to fill the van, I had to fill it up 3.897 gallons so clearly the van wasn’t filled. The location I picked it up from was sketchy, located under an overpass, and the attendant was at least 20 minutes late for my reservation. Plus, I got charged $150 for damage I did not personally cause on the vehicle. Would never use this location and will never use UHaul again if this is what the experience is like.

Awful misrepresentation of service. I feel ripped offthat the$19.95advertised rental fee actually was $71.95. Shame on u blatantly falsifying the price. I didn't need or want the insurance add-on @$14.95. & vehicle license recovery tax?! I would never recommend any service from u/haul. I could not even access the premises, as I am handicapped & there is no access. Additionally, there was no ramp on the truck. Surely, it is an option that costs more. & no dolly, unless u rent separately? U-haul must b doing terribly well considering they offer nothing & charge insane fees for basic features. Never will I do business with such a scam based business

The location was under a bridge with many homeless camps around. The phone pickup was advertised as being convenient, but when I submitted all photos I was asked to retake my own photo because whoever was reviewing thought i didn't look like my license photo... (I was moving and thusly in sweats instead of a button up... stereotyping). Also, I was asked to provide a contact which was required to pick up my truck; which, in all transparency, would have been fine; however, I was not made aware of this prerequisite beforehand which was extremely inconvenient. Upon return, I was instructed to drop my keys in a drop box which didn't exist, a fact I was told by the man who was my "on site contact" at the business whom Uhaul instructed me to contact when I couldn't find said drop box. I will never use this service again and will discourage all friends, family, and any stranger who asks me.

The online quote was for $19.95 a day. I took the $10.00 insurance. I drove 12 miles. How does that end up to $58.60, or what ever I paid??? Kinda very angry!!! No kinda about it!!! I was quoated for $19.95 a day, how does that guantify to 4 hours? And the vehical I wanted was not available when I showed up. There was one accross town, and I could go get it. I asked if it could be delivered to me. Because my ride had already left. Answer was a flat no! (Not a, I'll see if that can be arranged) I got a truck cab that was dirty, full of other peoples dirt and trash. The attendant said it was full of fuel. It was not close to full. Almost down to 3/4 of a tank!!! The guy that checked me out, charged me for 2 gallons of fuel. Unacceptable!!! I have driven your trucks accross country, I know 12 miles is not even 1/2 a gallon of fuel. My total trip, was within a mile and a half of where I picked up the truck. I am a business owner, word of mouth is a killer and my last two experiences with uhaul have been unacceptable!

I set up the rental on the phone and i was never told the truck was at a lot a few blocks from the actual location and that I would have to download an app. I downloaded the wrong app. It’s not clear which one to use. I had to enter my info three times and it was extremely clunky and not intuitive. Also I feel I was overcharged. Not happy.
