Truck was dirty with popcorn kernels in cab of vehicle. Cargo box had debris on floor. Fuel indicator was less than receipt shows on final return. When we returned vehicle, we cleaned all areas listed as dirty as well as sweeped out cargo box. We bought $40.00 dollars of gas which exceeded the amount originally in vehicle at time of pickup, yet we were charged for gas?? I feel we were overcharged and stated that fact. No response!
Mona NWas the easiest part of the rental.
Jennifer FTire straps kept slipping off tires and tensioners were rusted and did release properly or tighten good because of rust/ lack of lube. This is the first time out of many times renting car trailers that the straps didn't stay on. May have been because of the fact we couldn't release them to make sure even on tire, had to force them over the tire. The tensioners are always tuff to work and I forgot to bring WD40 .

Sandra VWas unable to do online check in and when I called for help I was on hold for a long time then got disconnected twice, the pickup facility was supposed to be “unmanned” but luckily the owner was there when I arrived and after trying to access the key via a video but due to terrible reception video wouldn’t play so he processed the pickup
Robbie OThe office person was very slow and blamed the slowness on her internet service. Then she went to check the milage and incorrectly gave the man in the store the incorrect mileage. I believe she was off by 900 miles which made him question my day trip which was only and 1.6 hour drive one way. Never apologized for miss quoting, and questioning my milage. Not warm customer service nor apologetic for getting the milage wrong. Will not rent there again.

Jeffrey WThe reservation we made was not processed so nothing was ready when we arrived. The owner brought us to another location where we were told the only tow he had for my car was the 2 wheel dolly rather than the 4 wheel that we wanted. He then proceeded to admit he didn't know much about them after hooking my car up to it. When we arrived in St. Augustine we realized our car was now pulling and jerking to the left for no reason & it was not doing that before. We immediately called another uhaul in that town & this was a corporate store so as soon as she looked at the rig she asked why it was hooked up wrong and why did it have painter's tape across the fender. We took photos as proof. She told us not to ever go to a "mom & pop" uhaul bc they aren't trained the way they should be, but there's honestly no way to know unless you ask. She did however hook us up to the 4 wheel tow so the car would be safer. I'm now back in town but another uhaul rep is saying there's no way it was the tow & that the insurance we bought won't cover it. I'm still going to address this with a mechanic & they will be paying to fix what their company messed up. The whole experience was horrible with the customer service & calling the 1800 number is useless as you talk to someone different everytime & they don't save any thing you tell them in the notes. If you just need a uhaul for a quick day move they are okay but nothing long distance & the insurance will try everything to not pay for damages. Horrible experience & will never go back.

CHARLES ATruck was at different location than reservation and they did not have furniture blankets that I requested. Also, was not made aware of what time truck needed to be returned. Was under impression any time on the second day would be fine resulting in extra charges.

James WThe original drop-off location was closed (out of business). The U-Haul system should be updated. I had to locate another facility (Rutledge Mini Storage) that could accept the return. Rutledge was able to get the contract transferred to them so that the return could be accepted and documented. Rutledge was friendly and very helpful. Again, I should not have been required to find an alternative return location - the U-Haul system should be updated.

WINFRED BThe woman at Rutledge Mini Storage had no idea how to hook up a UHaul trailer. I'm 63 with a broken back and three heart attacks. She made me lift the heavy hitch and hook everything up myself, I had no idea what to do. Found out after the receiver came loose it wasn't tightened properly. I may seek a Lawyer for damages. TINA PAdditional mileage (at least a percentage of the total trip) to return the truck to the drop off location should be included, not just the mileage between pick up and drop off locations. It is unreasonable to expect that the U Haul pick up or drop off locations are within a few miles of the actual loading and unloading sites. I would suspect that most customers do not expect or anticipate additional mileage charges at the end of their rental. Moving is stressful enough as it is.
BENJAMIN BThe location and personnel at the location were wonderful. My issue is with the Uhaul company having a dolly and furniture pads secured in the rental truck when I did not request them with my rental. The items were bolted to the truck in the right corner near the door. They had little plastic green tabs on them so that if these tabs were broken I would be charged for using the items. When I picked up the truck I asked if these items could be removed before taking the truck because I had not requested them and did not want them in the way and taking up valuable space in the truck. I was told that they needed to stay in the truck. So even though I did not use these items, during the process of trying to get items maneuvered around the dolly the green plastic tab broke. So now I have been charged an additional $7.00 for a dolly that I did not request and did not use. Additionally, I was forced by Uhaul to take these items and expected to work around it while being careful not to break a tiny plastic tab so I won't be charged for something I did not want. This is NOT good customer service. If I needed a dolly I would have requested and paid for one; actually I did exactly that with the appliance dolly I rented and am happy to pay for. This is such an underhanded way of nickel and diming customers just so Uhaul can get an extra $7.00 out of us. Not only should I not be charged for the dolly I did not rent or use, but I should be given a 10% discount for the 10% of the truck I could not use because of the space these items were taking up. I paid for a 17ft. truck and was not able to use the entire thing.

MARK RMy rental truck was supposed to be available to me at the UHaul location in Edenton, NC. I made the reservation one month in advance to insure availability. I was texted less than 24 hours before pickup to let me know the truck was in Washington NC, over an hour away. I called corporate but nothing was done about relocating the vehicle to me and I had to pick the truck up. Extra allowable miles were added but no compensation was offered for the fuel I used picking the truck up from a distant location . This is very poor customer service and based on this experience, I may need to use another company in the future.

Serena SReally gets expensive if you have to move more than 1/4 mile from where you rent and return the truck. May want to think about your mileage rates. Would have gladly paid more for renting the truck if the mileage charge wasn't so high. Pickups and trailers next time, I think.
PHILLIP HThere was a hold put on my card on the day I picked up the truck. There was another charge put on my card for the final charge. It seems that the first charge was supposed to fall off, but it did not and I had to call U Haul to get this corrected. I was told it was going to take 5-7 days to get this corrected and get the money put back on my card. I am very unhappy with this whole transaction. It did not take me 5-7 days to give you your money, and I do not approve of you charging my card twice without my approval. This problem needs to be corrected so other people do not get charged twice.

THOMAS SI RESERVED A UHAUL TRUCK TO BE PICKED UP ON 2/26. AFTER NUMEROUS CALLS FROM UHAUL I WAS TOLD I WOULDNT GET MY TRUCK TILL AT LEAST 10PM PUTTING MY DEPARTURE TIME BACK. I HAD NONREFUNDABLE TICKETS TO LEAVE TOWN, I HAD TO PAY FOR A ROOM FOR MY DRIVERS SINCE THEY WERENT ABLE TO LEAVE AS SCHEDULED. THE ROOM WAS AN ADDITIONAL $75...AND ADDED EXPENSE I DIDNT NEED BECUASE OF COMMUNICATION ISSUES WITH UHAUL.
