Be sure the truck is swept out and cleaned before releasing it. The windshield wasn't clean, either. And Uhaul didn't supply us with the proper dollie we ordered. Driver before we received the truck was towing a trailer and the tow/haul aperatus was never disingaged and the Tow/Haul light kept turning on all thru the some 800 miles of the trip.

The online check in to your vehicle takes quite long and it is not advertised that you need to provide quite a bit in information that you might not carry with you to the site. Such as passport or proof of residence. Location was difficult to drive truck out of due to not having a parking lot but a random plot of land enclosed by stuff

I would prefer to pick up a truck at a location that is not also a store/market. Because the market was busy, it took over 20 minutes to rent the truck, which ate into our moving time. It was unclear to me when booking, and I would not choose a location like this again. The back of the truck also had a musty smell, which was disappointing.

We originally requested a Uhaul from Central Market in san Diego. When we arrived the store LOST the key to the uhaul truck. We had to call and make arrangements for a new uhaul truck at a new location. Inconvenient as we were on a time restriction. Should have received a discount.

The place was skechy and there was random junk on the trailer with homeless people sitting on it. I didnt let my girlfriend get out of the car and told her to lock the doors once i got out. The guy that helped me with the trailer told me that my combo didnt work even though I know for a fact it does work and has worked in the past. I had to call the main office to sort it all out before I could rent my trailer. He didnt know how to work the u hual rental interface system very well and I was forced to help him pick out the options that were extremely apparent on the screen stating that "someone else put in my info wrong" or something. It delayed my schedule and forced me to arrive at my racing event later than I would have liked. I will schedule far in advance with the main office so I can rent from the guys in city heights again. The trailer was fine, towed straight and true, and I had no issues loading my race car onto it. I will rent from u hual again in november.

It wasn't that this location wasn't clean It wasn't inviting to DROP A UHAUL OFF. It was a neighborhood grocery convenient market. However. The U-Haul sign wasn't posted well. I thought I was in the wrong neighborhood. AND THEN A WEEK AFTER I DROPPED THE TRAILER OFF (I brought it back a day early even!) U-Haul called and told me there was no record of me dropping it off. SERIOUSLY. As if moving isn't stressful enough. ugggh. I never heard back so I hope that got sorted out.

I know California real estate is more expensive, but I would start improvement with paving the small parking lot where the Uhaul trucks and trailers are stored. It's a relatively small space, so maybe it would be affordable for the owner?

The same person that tends to the shop is the one who gives out the rentals, so it took a really long time to get the trailer and when i brought it back nobody could help me inspect it so i could refurn it after 20 min the person behind the counter told me to just leave and that i would receive an e mail with my receipt, which i still have not received.

Auto Trailer was not hooked up to Moving Truck at time of pick-up. U-Haul salesmen had difficulty hooking them up, which wasted quite a bit of time. Truck was 1/8th of a tank low on gas.

I reserved a 15" truck online from the Chula Vista Branch, I received a call from them, stating that they did not have any units that size available in Chula Vista ad I would need to pick up my unit at Sawaya Market located at National Av. I was suppose to arrive there activate online get the keys and go. That never happened, I had to walk into this horrible market, wait 20 minutes in line for the cashier to take care of all these people buying food before I could even talk to anyone who know about my truck.I had to wait another 15 minutes for a gentleman named Luis to run my credit card and do all the paper work before I could leave. By the time I got the vehicle I was dark, I was extremely late to my pick up appointment and the side mirrors and glass were so dirty, I had to stop at a gas station just to clean them. It was very unsafe to drive with dirty mirrors at night. This is the first time I have had a bad experience with U-Haul. Seems like some of your franchisees are not well prepared and are giving your company a bad name.

I'm not happy because the location that close to me to drop off is full and they call me and send to Vesta st San Diego 92113 location but that location is close and we went to the closer one and add another $12.00 for gas. Why you guys are not aware that one of your location is permanently closed??????

This is not your traditional U-Haul rental facility. If you're walking in without a reservation and wanting to rent equipment or buy boxes, I don't think this is where one would choose to go. However, for having an existing reservation, everything went seamlessly. My truck was ready, appeared clean, and my pads were ready too. The customer service was great and efficient. The best part was upon returning the truck, I was able to order and eat one of the best chicken burritos in San Diego, as the rental facility is actually a Spanish market/BBQ joint that also rents u-hauls. Talk about a win-win after a hard afternoon of moving furniture. I actually think it's a genius idea and I plan to come back for the food alone.

I drove 25 miles (20mi. w/o load, 5 mi w/load) and I purchased 3 gallons of gas (roughly 8.33 miles per gallon) before returning it. No one was available to process my return even though the office was open. I then received an email receipt about 30 minutes later in which I was charged for 3 MORE gallons, which would mean that the uhaul was getting about 4 mpg - unheard of! I would not recommend this location and their 'extra' charges.

I was late an hour and a half and was charged another full day with additional insurance. Since I could have use the truck for another couple of hours, I told the attendant to give me the keys that I would bring it back in another 3 hours. To my surprise, he said I was goung to be charged for another, a third, day if I wanted to take it because he had already process the transaction. Despite all my efforts to reason with him, I was not given the right to take the truck wven when I had already paid the full day. I told him that I should have the option to leave it or use it in such a case and that I should had been informed of the option to take it or leave it before him deciding to process the charge but he didn't seem to care about my concern. Therefore, I am dissatisfied and angry. To whom it may concern; I will look for other options in the future if this is your irrational pooicy. If wanting to correct the wrongdoing, contact me and honor my concern and I will gladly continue using your service. Thank you.
