I waited 40 min for someone to help with unhitching the trailer. The personel was angry that i was dropping off to his location. He statedv"he did not have space for it".Vincent F.
My experience was a disaster. In spite of having pre-signed up for a vehicle online and having printed out the information, it took 40 minutes to get my truck (I timed it) on a Sunday morning with no other customers. U-Haul had over charged me by $100.00 with add-ons that I never signed up for. The agent could not correct the error online, and had a very difficult time calling for support help from U-Haul. When I got the final billing I was still overcharged with $14.00 for insurance I had specifically declined. U-Haul's support is unacceptable. Long wait times, very difficult to get a live person to talk to.Alex William K.

The inside of the cab wasn't clean. It was full of dog hair and ants. I was highly disappointed with this issue. I would have expected it to have been thoroughly cleaned out with the COVID-19 issues around the area. Also, they never came out to help hook up the transport trailer. When I checked out the paperwork said it had a full tank of gas and it only had 3/4 tank of gas and I was charged extra at drop off for bringing it back with 3/4 tank of gas. Also, the truck was full of blankets and a hand truck. Very unprofessional experience.ginger P.

I would like to know why i was asked to waste 2 and a half hours of my moving time by having to drive to Schroon Lake instead of a drop off closer to Saranac Lake? Very confused and aggravated...will not be using UHaul in the futere...and probably won't be recommending your services to others. I would like to talk to a manager for compensation of wasting my time...Robert Z.

They welcomed our trailer return and were very helpful in getting it checked back in accurately as there was a problem with U-Haul being up and online at the time of our return. We were assured that as soon as they could get online and check in our trailer they would forward the receipt to us which they did. Definitely a place I would use again for future needs.Leeanne F.

I had to dig the trailer out of the snow bank and hook it up myself and wait an hour while the attendant tried to process the transaction (which I had already reserved online) on the phone with corporate. Also they didn't have the trailer I had reserved so I had to pull an extra 1000lbs and extra axel 12 hours.brian D.

U haul leaked and personal belonging and damaged some items. When picking up u haul had to hook up own trailer with no help. The 6X12 had a new door replaced on it with new end caps on top corners witch leaked.Travis N.

I had a confirmation to pick up a trailer at Glens Falls. The day before I was to pick it up I was told I had to drive 1.5 up to Schroon Lake and then back to get a trailer. This is a horrible business practice to confirm that everything is all set and then last minute change the location and make a 3 hour drive to get the unit. If you didn't have one, you should not confirm. The SchroonLake location had not one with knowledge or to help, the electronic plug was not the right one, just a mess.Tim P.

I really like U-Haul and kinda understand the location thing really nothing in this area. My miles were mostly spent driving to and from location picking up and dropping off U-Haul as my move was only maybe 10-15 miles. But that is to be expected in this area I suppose. I used U-Haul several times with no issues and will use them again as well as recommended them to friends. Thank youShellie S.

Your system works for me. I will be renting two more trailers in the next four or five months and if they perform as well as the last two I'll be very happy. One note, this last trailer leaked a bit. No damage to my cargo but you may want to reseal.Craig W.

Bad check in experience. Very limited area to park trailer, had to request (beg for) help to disconnect trailer (I am over 70), personnel were not trained on equipment or checking system and system was not working correctly. I called Uhaul directly from location and Laffeyette in NC tried hard to help me but could not get the system or location personnel to check me in. It was only after CRICKET (a very nice and helpful lady) arrived, after I waited over an hour, that I was helped and treated like a valued customer. She corrected the problems and called me back (I finally had to leave after 1.5 hours to an appointment) that I was checked in. Uhaul and Schroon Lake Sunoco - DO NOT LOSE CRICKET - she should get a raise!!FRANK H.

We had made this reservation weeks in advance. We arrived and the equipment was plowed in and there was no one available to dig it out and attach it to my car. There was one lady working the entire store who was very nice, but had no experience connecting the trailer to the car. When she called the owner who told her to just do something, she called a favor from a friend to dig it out and hook it up. If she wasn't able to call in strangers to plow out the tailor, we would not have been able to move. It took us hours to get the equipment and we had to make new arrangements for our move, costing us additional time and money. The owner of the Sunoco was completely irresponsible and incredibly disappointing.Christopher N.

For the second time in a row, my uhaul experience left me more stressed and anxious than necessary. I arrived at the location to pick up my truck that I reserved, only to be told that the guy who handles the trucks isn't in, and probably wouldn't be for a couple more hours. When I called 2 hours later to see if I could go get the truck, there was no answer. At that point, I was forced to contact uhaul and see if i could find another truck at a different location. The woman on the phone was excellent and quickly found me another truck at a different location(the one rated above). This location of course was further away than the one I previously selected, which delayed me even more from my task. All told, the poor service by the uhaul representative at K&K repairs in Olmstedville left me nearly 4 hours behind schedule. This meant I was forced to both drive and unload the truck in the dark, which was certainly not what I wanted to do. I would recommend that uhaul strongly evaluate their independent contractors, as these people are the front line of the company. As evidenced above, the people I had originally contracted with fell significantly short of meeting my (or any other customer's) expectations. Very disappointing. As I mentioned, this is my second terrible experience with uhaul in a row (within a month). I will be looking for alternatives for any future needs I may have. Even if Penske, Budget, or Enterprise cost more, I will be choosing them moving forward. I would rather pay extra for the peace of mind in knowing that a company is going to honor its commitments to the customer.craig J.

When I walked in to Sunco where my uhaul pickup location was, there was one lady working. I walked up to her and said "I have a uhaul rental to pick up", her reply to me was "I don't know anything about it, the boss handles that and he's not here." she was very rude about it and after I told her I had just driven 20 min to get this uhaul she finally decided to call uhaul. After both I and the woman talked to the rep (who was very helpful) she handed me the keys and said I was all set. No contract, no explanation, no visual inspection of the uhaul, all things that happen when I've used uhaul in the past did not happen here. Then comes the uhaul....it was dirty, not swept out (front or back), there was something sticky (I'm assuming soda) all over the passenger side of the vehicle (floor, seat, dashboard, even the outside mirror), last but no least there was damage not mentioned on the ceailing of the vehicle inside where it looked like the dome light was stabbed with a screwdriver or something, and there was 2 tears up there as well. When I noticed all of this i didn't want to deal with the lady inside again so I called uhaul from my phone. I explained what happened and the condition of the uhaul. She told me to take pictures and that it would be noted on my account. I've had 3-5 uhauls before, this was by far the worst experience I've had.Michael P.

We got there on time the owner left and the lady at the store didn't know how to do the uhaul transactions. The owner was trying to charge us a different price then we were quoted and he didn't even have the dolly we requested.jennifer L.
I received the truck with 5/16 of a tank of gas. Not knowing how much mpg it gets, I filled the tank. It was still half full when I returned it after 190 miles. This is about 8 gallons over the starting amount. I would like to request a credit or refund for the overage of $25.00.Lawrence C.

Have the truck swept out, we had trash and lots of dirt from the pervious rental. The hand truck we reserved wasn't there so we had to go buy one from Tractor Supply. This location wasn't close to our house like we had reserved. (2 mi away) We had to drive an additional 60 mi round trip to pick up the rental truck.Jeremiah B.

Location rents UHaul, but has little knowledge of equipment, which would be okay if equipment was in tip-top condition. I had a dual axle 6X12 enclosed trailer for 24 hours. Towed fine, everything worked, but one tire had only 15 pounds of air which I did not discover until I had the trailer loaded. Stopped for air and checked all tires. Front two rims badly deteriorated, one tire probably has a leak, very glad I was not taking this trailer on a long trip...actually, would not have taken this trailer on a long trip. UHaul needs to do a better job monitoring equipment...this trailer needs two new front wheels! I know this is not easy with hundreds of locations, guess the renter needs to pay very close attention and reject equipment that appears to be less than excellent.David K.

The guy behind the counter was very friendly and recommended we drop off the truck in Queensbury because we would save $40 -- I think we saved more than though due to the distance we had to drive before returning the truck and at 41 cents an extra mile as opposed to the expected 99 cents, we were very pleased when we dropped it off!SERENA R.

The cargo trailer that arrived from another location wasn't cleaned out, and it was a bitch to get the hitch on as the connector was rusted tight. We had to bull dog it. the store owner was nice enough to open up a can of WD-40 which helped. The unloading was pleasant, as we had cleaned the unit and greased it for the shop.Darleen M.
