Edward FI rented a van had it about 15 minutes to drive from the dealership to my home realized that the item I needed to move would not fit, I was charged full price, totally unexpected. I haven't used U-Haul in probably 20 years and based on this experience I won't again going forward.

Jean-Luc LThe person managing this location took. my deposit on my debit card. However when I went to drop of the truck (One-way) they told him he entered my deposit as cash. This caused a problem as the place I dropped the truck off was not set up to provide the deposit back via debit. After many calls I was told I could only get my deposit back via check. I was not happy as you can imagine. Make sure when you are depositing money that they enter the correct info. Not sure why he put down that I paid cash.
Rock BRented U-haul in person. Owner was very friendly and accommodating. Mileage rate was lower than the location in Beckwith. Definitely recommend this location.

DENIS TThe truck was dirty, it reeked of smoke and had garbage from the previous customer. The back wheels were bald which caused us to get stuck in our driveway 4 times. The driveway was ploughed of snow yet the darn truck's wheels kept spinning adding to the kilometers. I have never paid so much for so little use. I was charged over 500$ and I know that is unfair and inaccurate. I would like a customer service representative to call me and fix the price to reflect the negative effects we suffered because of this subpar truck.

Mark BThe franchise was excellent, and very friendly and efficient. The u-haul service overall was frustrating, with a last minute switch imposed to a dealer 20 Km away. This increased my mileage costs by almost $50. If u-haul changes the location at the last minute, they should waive additional mileage charges.

Ross PAny vehicle rented in Cold areas should be equipped with snow tires.I have been driving for several decades in the winter and always have 4 snow tires on my vehicles. This truck was very difficult to park in a parking lot that had a slight incline. 4 season tires don’t cut it when new. They are even more useless when 50% worn like those on the truck I rented. Otherwise,the truck ran fine and was well maintained.

Denis MOriginally rented the truck for 24 hours but returned after 4 hours because the move went quicker than anticipated, was still charged for 24 hours Was given 1/4 tank of gas and needed gas 1/2 way through the journey, filling the tank would be a recommendation
JENNIFER M1. I picked up the truck keys and conducted pre-inspection on site with attendant at 1400 on Fri 22Nov2024. No obvious smell of gasoline detected, tank was full. 2. Upon reviewing my contract at home, I saw that the next day's return time was 1300. I contacted Smiths Falls office and confirmed the error as having to do with U-Haul software. He mentioned to contact him once returned as needed as he would vouch for this. Which was fine. 3. Noticed light fuel smell in the am before leaving to destination. No visual source. Once at destination, fuel could be seen leaking in he area near fuel tank. This is very dangerous. 4. These trucks should be road tested prior to next lease. Braking was sketchy (not crisp in any way), transmission column shifter was almost broken off, needs a wheel alignment, cargo roll-up door track system tired, wondering if door was going to fall apart, who knows what next. 5. The U-Haul centers with maint capabilities are far and tech support likely abysmal, reactive instead of preventive. With some an imposing fleet of vehicles, it is still surprising that only a few handful U-Haul owned Svc centers are in existence. Thank you. S.Lavallee

ROBERT SVehicle interior was clean exterior was quite dirty, parked under a tree and I had to back it out of a tight area beside the Convenience store. They did not have all the blankets we were promised and the location was several miles away from originally selected location in the wrong direction. The vehicle was returned with only a quarter tank, and had to be filled immediately meaning this costcme time heading out that morning.

JESSICA GMostly for U-Haul. The 15 ft truck was HUGE for what I needed. A 10 ft truck - ideal. However, a 10 ft truck does not come with a ramp? Why? 3 large appliances were all I was carrying, and 15 ft truck was the smallest with a ramp. I think all truck should have been fitted, or have a ramp to rent with the 10ft truck. So much better. 👍

SHAUN MYou could make sure you honour your booking quit giving equipment already booked to other people. I had to go to two locations and settle for a trailer I didn’t want. The second location was more than 50 km from my house. 😡

Darryl BThe Truck was clean, however the steering was a little off, requiring continually correction, I would not take this vehicle on a long trip.
Lawrence AAlthough the van was very clean it had a strong odour similar to farm livestock such as hogs or manure. The representative thanked me for pointing this out and planned to immediately clean the interior.

(BTW - Your online web site & check-in is crappy - For example, "Would you recommend this location to a friend?" was answered both times with "Not Applicable", but the review cannot be submitted because of "Please select a response ..." errors to those questions. I changed both answers to "No" to submit.)

Edna SThis U-Haul location was fantastic to deal with. What U-Haul can improve is fulfilling what was originally booked either on line or through a U-Haul representative. I have booked vehicles twice in the last month and both times my booking was changed. My first experience I had to travel to Smith Falls to pick up my van vs in Perth which was the original booking. I ended up having to pay an additional 40 kms in mileage due to this change. For the second experience I had to accept a 20’ truck vs a 10’ and once again had to pick it up in Smith Falls vs Perth. Please deliver what people originally book.
