Awful experience! Even though all details were provided online prior to picking up, I was asked for tons of details. Was asked to share the contact details of a third person whom U-haul called and verified about me in front of me. Asked for a second photo ID bedsides DL It was embarrassing. Never had to go through anything like this before. The vehicle was dirty. Even the windshield was not clear. Not going to rent U-haul anytime soon.

24/7 self check-in and check out didn't work so I couldn't get my truck on time or return it with assistance.

Customer service associate was not on time when the open hours was 9am and I was waiting for 30mins. My information was already in file where i have confirmation number. So I thought it would be a quick process like pick up the key truck and go. I still have to wait for another 30mins.

By clean, the vehicle was clean enough for my purpose (pick-up and delivery of a large piece of furniture. Lots of dog hair in the vehicle but otherwise fine. A more direct reminder/statement to top off the gas back to the starting level would be good. After arriving at the return and then being warned to top off required going back out to find gas.

when i called the Poway phone number, i was transferred to a central call center. i was not aware of this, and made a reservation for a truck, and when i went to Poway to pick up the truck, i was informed that it was at another location. i was not happy about this and Lee at the Poway location agreed to let me have one of his. switching locations on me without making sure that i understood is unacceptable. you need to do better.

I reserved a truck in October on a Friday morning and returning it on Saturday afternoon was not a problem at this same location. I called and said I wanted the same truck and pickup Friday morning and return Saturday afternoon for a November event. When I got the email agreement it said return by 9 am on Saturday which does not work for me. I called the number on Thursday a day before pickup and the national operator said if I keep it longer than 9 am I would just have to pay an additional fee. He should of called the location before promising me that. On Friday November 4th when I arrived to pick up the truck I was told that it must be returned by 9 am Saturday November 5th because they rented it on Saturday. This was never explained to me, I could not return it Saturday morning, I was very upset. The sales person at the location Adriana Garcia was not helpful in trying to fix my problem and did not seem to care that I was upset. I asked her if the van outside was available to rent (which she should of offered me that option) and it was. I took the van which was too small for what I needed but had no choice and no time to find another location with a rental truck. That is something she should of offered to make a few calls to find me a truck but she did not. Overall a horrible experience, my business needs vehicles several times a year but I will never rent again from Scripps Poway Self Storage. Jim Duckworth 858-564-0780 x6663

Make a better sign to release the brake release on the truck. The alarm ring is loud and annoying. It took me a while on how to release it. I couldn't see the lever when I was sitting down on the seat and had no idea how to shut off the noise.

Take the dolly and blankets out of the truck. If I want them, I'll order them. They just get in the way, and if I have to move them, you charge me for it. Its just another way for U-Haul to make money on the slide...its SUCKS!

I believe I was overcharged for CDW insurance. The paperwork I received from UHaul said it was $10 and my bill said $20. I will call the office where I rented the van and check with them. Otherwise the service was excellent and the vehicle more than met my needs.

Counter help had great difficulty running the credit card at pickup. At drop off, could not properly read the fuel gauge and had more difficulty with the computer. She made rude remarks about me (when I was out of the building) in front of my wife.

Put a bright arrow and sign identifying where the parking brake release is. Couldn't see it in the dark. Phone customer service agent couldn't guide me there. Looked for sign similar to HOOD which I could locate in the dark. Same should go for parking brake realease

Have a "fast start" folder in the truck that details where to find most normal workings of the truck. We never did find how to adjust the outside mirrors and the rental agent didn't know either.

The only complaint that I have is the 14' truck was not available at the time I had reserved it for. I called U-haul customer service and asked about the reservation guarantee. The customer service rep was very friendly and assured me that I would be compensated $50.00.

Due to unforseen circumstances we were 2 hours late in returning the truck. I could understand being charged a late fee or a pro-rated fee for those hours but we were charged another 24 hours. Seeing that, we commented that we might as well take it back and use it at least the rest of the day and were then told that it had already been reserved for someone else later that afternoon. (What, they only have 1 truck?) I thought the penelty was beyond harsh. VERY unhappy with what I thought was going to be a cost saving decision to use UHaul.

When I returned the truck I had refilled the gas tank to its original state but when the attendant came out to check it she told me I was about a gallon short. She gave me the option of going back out to refill for ONE more gallon or be charged 35 dollars PLUS 7 dollars per gallon. That is just ridiculous. One gallon short..really?
