CYNTHIA CThe app was difficult to use. It would not scan my driver's license and did not recognize that I took the photo of the license twice and uploaded it twice. Had to have agent look at it. Also the app did not recognize the photos of the truck which I uploaded and kept giving me messages that I didn't upload any. Finally, the lock to get the key was extremely difficult to open.

JOY DIt was a nightmare trying to return the truck because there was no spot to park the rental. Another vehicle, assumed to be a renter’s, was taking up the space in the area where I was told to not leave my personal vehicle earlier in the day. It was dark outside and past office hours, customer service was unavailable and live support in the app was not very helpful after 3 attempts. I wasted a full half hour desperately trying to figure out what to do, only to end up having to risk parking near a gate and fire lane because there was literally nowhere else to go.

GABRIEL RWhen I addressed the issue of the truck smelling like urine I was told “ok it will get cleaned”, the person did not inspect the truck and charged me for gas. I filled the truck past the point of where it was when I initially started.

ZENAIDA MMy reservation was for a location within walking distance from my home. Just 2 days before my pickup date, I was informed I needed to change my pickup location. A lot of planning went into my move so this last minute change was not cool. Was told I can return it at the location near home. On pick up, I was informed I need to return at a different location. Again, not cool.

Leticia gThe truck was given to us and claimed it was 1/4 tank, however it was near empty and showing “25 miles to empty” so we had to go back inside, get the mistake corrected and then fill the tank immediately, was inconvenient having to fill it in advance. Also about halfway through the drive, the check engine light came on…this was my 5th rental in the last 5-6 weeks and this was the worst experience. Joel was great and very helpful, that is worth noting.

Frederick IPick up and drop off were both invalid address. We were scheduled for picking up at San Francisco and redirected to Daly City which significantly delayed our plan. We never get any notification of pick up areas changing. The next day, return was scheduled at Walnut Creek. Office is permanently closed and there's no direction of where to go. We called into U-Haul and got redirected to Martinez for dropping off. This is another sad delay to our original plan. How can u haul do not know a location is permanently closed down? Very disappointed for the whole process. U-Haul should definitely improve the system on informing client where to pick up where to drop off . I shouldn't be paid for something that I'm not expecting to do. Wasted couple hours to locate the right info.
Kaiyishaer WProbably make a better effort on providing the truck clean without any garbage in it. Overall the truck did it’s job and took me to my destination.

William SPick up was easy with the help for the couple that run the storage facility. Van I rented had just received maintenance and ran fine. I wish the UHaul app worked better as it was clunky and slow - thankfully there were real people to help me.
